Beautiful location, but you could get better house for this price
We enjoyed our stay, with dips in the pool, walks and rund on the paths near the house. But the house felt as it was overprized.
We were greeted by a friend of the hosts, as they were travelling and hard to reach. He could not find the key at once and did not know too much about the house. The house and the outside is not well maintained, with many small examples such as the pool not properly cleaned when we arrived, the outdoor shower being hidden by overgrown plants (it worked though, to the friends surprise), debris from trees so thick around the old Ping Pong table we spent a whole afternoon cleaning it ourselves, construction equipment placed around the house and inside, an old camping wagon in driveway, air condition missing cover, wifi really bad and fell out for two days, no info about eg where to find ping pong rackets or any practical stuff for the house., The list of small details goes on and on. The bedrooms are also far apart (except for two) if you travel with kids.
Its ok to stay here, although a bit far from the sea and the coast cities. But, you can get better houses for less money.
The house is clean and spacious and in a good location to visit the French Riviera. It was lovely and quiet.
Thereâs plenty of outdoor seating areas to watch the sunset or the changing colours of the landscape.
Carrie and Henk were on hand but unobtrusive with good communication throughout.
A lovely property and we felt special being there. A couple of small problems (TV complexity, wasps) but the owners were round quickly to deal with them. Good memories.
The Schoemakers were so welcoming and gave the perfect amount of information for my family I am hoping to return soon because I fell in love with this property and all of the beautiful amenities and views. We brought our young children as well as older friends and it was a perfect property for all ages Well done to the Schoemakers !
We had a great week at Villa Eschandihado - we were made very welcome by Carrie and Henk from the moment of enquiry to the stay itself. The layout on the ground floor is fab, with a good sized pool and a large modern kitchen. The fourth bedroom is downstairs in the basement, in a separate mini apartment type room, next to the utility room and the pool pump - might really work for you or might not, depending on your party. Just check with Carrie/Henk before you book.
The aircon is efficient and quiet and the place is equipped with all mod cons (including American style fridge with icemaker). The showers are powerful and clean.
The location is first class - we've stayed in a few villas in the Med and this has the best spot I have seen - a quiet road, not overlooked but only a 2 min drive (10 min walk) to a bakery, pharmacy, pizza place, bar and small supermarket. The views from the terrace are quite stunning - have your breakfast overlooking the mountains, with the sun shining on your face!
Would definitely recommend it - I challenge you to find a better place on or near the Cote D'Azur for close to the same money.
