VILLA MEDEA welcomes 20 guests guests with a refined and exclusive environment that nevertheless radiates warmth. Dating back to 1500, the villa has benefitted from a complete renovation and bedrooms are furnished with impeccable taste featuring 10 bedrooms and 10 bathrooms. With rooms distributed in multiple suites on all three floors plus an hayloft featuring air-conditioning, lovely views and and gentle bathrooms, VILLA MEDEA is ideal for large family reunions or destination wedding guests.
Set in a panoramic terraced garden filled with ancient cypresses, oaks and olive groves, the villa features large swimming pool with classy sun loungers and several living areas on different levels. The large private pool measures 14x6 metres and has a gazebo with a dining and living area with a kitchen.
VILLA MEDEA is an extraordinary, historic Tuscan farmhouse villa situated in the countryside just outside LUCCA, about 6 kilometers from the city centre and its Walls. A recent restoration process by the current owner has d the villa with high-end amenities for cooking, entertainment, and relaxation, including a gym, high speed WiFi, Satellite Tv with internartional channels, air conditioning, comfortable luxury indoor interiors and high-end outdoor furniture.
The expansive estate inspires unforgettable ceremonies, festive gatherings, or serene relaxation under the Tuscan sky. Plunge into the welcoming swimming pool and bask in the sunlight on lovely lounge chairs. Sip Tuscan wine and delicious aperitifs at sunset in one of the many outdoor sitting areas, and gather for memorable meals amid the aromas of wildflowers and cypress.
The kitchen is superbly equipped for the contemporary cook and serves a lovely breakfast corner opening to the patio. The villa's ten bedrooms are beautifully furnished in a classic Tuscan style that feels at once timeless and fresh.

On the second floor: 3 bedrooms (1 of which with a living area and private kitchen), 2 ensuite bathrooms with grand walk in showers.
HAYLOFT: located next to the pool, features a kitchen, a dining room, a living room, a laundry room, a shaded outdoor living area, 2 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.

The property was not only as advertised but even more lovely in person. It was well equipped across the board to accommodate a group of our size. Rooms were well appointed, check in and out was very smooth. We thoroughly enjoyed our time in this property.

Idyllic stay for special birthday

Villa Medea was the perfect location for our celebration! As a group of 9 of mixed ages it was a great spot. The pool was fabulous, lots of space to all be around it at the same time. The outside dining area was perfect for diners all together. Alice, the caterer recommended to us by the villa manager, could not have been more helpful and her dinners were superb!

Paradise in Tuscany!

We were here for our inaugural extended family holiday - 17 of us from all over the world. This villa was perfect. Great views and lovely set up. It had all the amenities we needed including a fairly well sized swimming pool and patios .. Absolutely loved our time here. Cristina was lovely - very clear and very prompt about everything including recommendations. Will definitely recommend this place and its proximity to Lucca city centre is a nice added plus point !

Amazing memories here!

We just came home from the most amazing week in this villa. We had 5 families stay and had plenty of room. Everything was perfect. The Villa, the location, the amenities. Martina our host was so accommodating and helped us to arrange some unforgettable experiences. I highly recommend chef Alice for a private dinner and Chef Francesca for the cooking class in the villa. Martina was always available and checked in frequently. I cannot wait to come back to this beautiful place. Thank you for a week we will never forget!

Great stay!

Villa was awesome and exactly as described. Our Villa manager Martina was terrific and helped make our stay a great one. She was always available when we asked a question. Accommodations were great and we loved the grounds and pool. Everyone had a great rime. The only suggestion I'd make is to inform people that taxi service isn't the best and that arranging transportation ahead of time is recommended. No other suggestions.

Perfect in Every Way!

The villa is a dream and absolutely recommendable. Everything is just like on the pictures and you don't want to leave the house anymore. A big thank you also to Cristina, who welcomed us and gave us countless tips. Once something happened, she always answered within seconds. Also very recommendable are Alice and Paolo, who cooked two times in our villa and spoiled us superb. All in all it was a great stay and I can highly recommend this accommodation to everyone.

I led a group of 20 adults for a week in mid-September. The main house has some lovely large ensuite bedrooms, and is well located near Lucca. It's a 7 minute drive to the nearest grocery store). The grounds are nice, with nearly enough space for our 20 guests to sit around the inside and outside tables, but it was very tight. The unheated pool is stained green around the edges and looks dirty, but was usable, though chilly. It does technically have 10 bedrooms and bathrooms, but one bedroom is a child's room (2 twin beds) without an ensuite (there is a bathroom down the stairs), the main floor bedroom has an unappealing tiny bathroom out in the hall, and two of the smaller ensuite rooms were out in a cottage at the other end of the property. So 10 couples were not able to be equally accommodated. The kitchen equipment was lacking: of the three small drip coffee makers only one worked, no cork screw or cocktail shaker, only a couple towels and cloths. There were only enough supplies for the first day (we had to buy garbage bags, dishwasher and laundry soap, toilet paper, paper towels, etc. on the 2nd day), so be sure to have a car to run into town. The place is also difficult to find, as the address provided does not correspond to the address on the house, and there are four possible entry points. Both Amazon and food deliveries were returned because the delivery people could not figure out where to drop the items. The wi-fi cut out several times. Pretty good but not great.

Family Staycation-3 Weeks

Excellent property. Spacious, clean rooms in a centuries old villa. Updates to the villa were top-notch, preserving the charm of the original house. Pictures of the property gave an accurate impression. Fully equipped kitchen. Beautifully landscaped property with an outdoor kitchen with 2 stone fireplaces which we used to make some unforgettable Bistecca Fiorentina, purchased at the local butcher. 10 minutes walk to bus. 20 minutes to Lucca. 5 minutes drive to village with a great trattoria, butcher, and excellent pizzeria. Villa manager was very responsive to minor maintenance issues. No disappointments with this property that I highly recommend.

Magical 70th Birthday

Arrived just after Christmas, tired from holidays and flights to this beautiful property! The setting was perfect as the villa has a few properties bordering it but once you’re inside the gates it’s completely private. The public spaces are many so all can be private or part of a group. The bedrooms are beautiful; well furnished and comfortable and each has special touches that make it personal. The bathrooms are modern with wonderful showers that are powerful. Our favorite place may have been the kitchen where people gathered throughout the morning for breakfast and conversation. The table easily seats ten with enough room for more and a second table if desired. Each night we ate at the formal dining room table which accommodated all 16 of us. Plenty of wine glasses, dishes and cutlery. We had a chef come in and cook for us for 2 nights (FrancescaBounagurella) and cooked delicious dinners the other six nights. If you are planning to cook the kitchen is spacious and well appointed with 2 dishwashers and 2 stovetops..You will love this house. Only suggestion would be more dish towels, napkins and a bigger coffee pot.

Another wonderful stay

This was our second 2 week stay at Villa Medea. This visit was as good if not better than our first stay. It felt like home when we walked in. The grounds are beautiful and so relaxing. And, love relaxing by the pool! There were 9 of us the first week and 12 the second. We never felt crowded. Everyone did their own thing during the day and then gathered for cocktails and dinner together. And, we love being able to have all of us having dinner together at one table either inside or outside. Chef Alice- the Villa chef- is as wonderful as always. She cooked for us 3 times this visit. We've found it's great to have her prepare dinner for us, especially the first night of our arrival. No one is ready to cook for the group when they first arrive. Stefania, the villa manager, was so responsive and helpful. We couldn't ask for a better vacation with our friends. We hope to return again... and enjoy this most relaxing beautiful Villa again....

Beautiful Tuscan villa

My family, made up of 7 adults, one grandchild and a babysitter, spent 10 days at this beautiful Tuscan villa in July. The villa is a 10 minute drive from Lucca in the Tuscan hills. It is an hour from Florence, and a half hour from the beach, and other wonderful . day trips, including Cinque Terre, which were all great day trips that we took. The villa itself is a large, gracious and beautifully built 16th century home. The bedrooms are large with many of them ensuite. Two of the bedrooms are in a house at the far side of the property, which we did not use. The layout worked well for our group. Cristine who managed the property was a pleasure to deal with. as was Stephanie, who came every day to help clean the house and help with the garbage etc. While the villa has a beautiful view of the countryside, it backs on to a courtyard with other houses. This did not, however, detract from the countryside setting of the villa. It is beautifully decorated, with comfortable furniture, inside and outside of the house. and the bathrooms are newly renovated. The beds are comfortable with high end linen and plenty of closet space in each room. There are many super markets nearby that have fresh fish, meat, and produce, as well as a delicious bakeries and a pharmacy for all of your needs. The only disappointment, based on the description of the house, is that the kitchen has not been newly renovated. Given our disappointment, the managers of the property did purchase new kitchen gadgets, as well as a clothes dryer for the property. The kitchen is functional but not a newly upgraded kitchen with high end appliances as we had expected and the only reason we have given the villa a four star as opposed to 5 star rating. The managers did everything they could to make our stay comfortable, and were very responsive to our needs, including immediately buying a new pool umbrella to replace the broken one. I would highly recommend the villa for a large family holidaya group of friends.

Glorious weeks at Villa Medea

We had 2 glorious weeks at Villa Medea celebrating 3 milestone birthdays, two 60th and one 75th. Beautiful charming 10 bedroom villa. The whole Villa is Beautifully decorated. Kitchen is Well equipped with 2 refrigerators. Has outdoor grill and stove by the pool. We were a big group of family and friends and everyone was comfortably situated in each bedroom. The Villa’s location is perfect. Close to numerous towns like Lucca, Pisa and Florence to name a few. Our Villa Host Maria Pia was an absolute gem!! She did her very best to accommodate all our requests and was very helpful to our needs. We had a scrumptious, authentic Tuscan Birthday dinner catered by the resident Villa Chef, Alice Dami. She made sure the table settings were done perfectly and beautifully. The appetizers and dinner were both delicious. Chef Alice and her assistants were very attentive. There was just 2 minor incidents: The trash collection in Italy are pretty strict. We did as best we could following the rule guides in the Villa guest book. It was a little confusing when we thought we were following it correctly but then the trash was not being picked up. We contacted Maria Pia and she was helpful in sending someone to collect the trash. We also had an insect situation in one of the rooms that had an outdoor patio. Because of the change of weather, when it gets cool some insects find their way into the warmth of the bedroom. We understand it’s part of nature. We contacted Maria Pia again and she was quick to have someone spray the room and gave us extra cans if needed. Overall we loved our stay at Villa Medea and highly recommend a visit. Grazie Mille !! Absolutely perfect!

We spent 2 weeks here with friends and couldn't have asked for more! The outdoor spaces were perfect for our group. From spending afternoons by the pool by the olive trees...to being able to eat dinner outside. And we enjoyed a couple of dinners inside at the dining room. We had Alice cook dinner for us the first night as we knew we wouldn't want to cook. We enjoyed it so much we had her come the next Saturday night as well. Her food was spectacular! We did a day trip to Florence via train. And spent several days in the walled city of Lucca. We're trying to figure out when we can return to Villa Medea1

Wir haben als Großfamilie mit 19 Personen eine wunderschöne Woche in der Villa verbracht. Sehr gut ausgestattete Villa, wo vom Olivenöl bis zum Toilettenpapier alles vorhanden war, 2 Geschirrspüler, großer Pool, wunderschöner Olivengarten. Die Lage ist nicht optimal, man muss 8 km zum Supermarkt fahren, aber das Anwesen ist sehr privat und nur zu empfehlen!

Beautiful, spacious with a great view

We had a great time. Great view, big and beautiful spaces both in and out, lovely pool, well-equipped kitchen. The Hayloft was great for the part of the family with babies...We were 20 + six month old baby and it felt spacious. We traveled to Lucca a few times, strolling was nice although very crowded, bicycling on the walls is very recommended. Some toys and games could be nice to have both in-house, outside, and for the pool. (Ball, frisbee, etc.) The information and recommendations for food stores were not clear enough. A floor plan can help plan ahead who stays where.

Esta casa es mas linda en vivo que en las fotos, todo decorado precioso, cada cuarto más lindo que el otro, muy limpios, las áreas comunes y el jardín maravillosos, realmente muy recomendada, me encantaría volver algún día. Destacable la ayuda y presencia de Cristina, comimos una cena deliciosa en la casa hecha por la chef Alice! Sin duda también El servicio de transporte y recomendaciones de Andrea Paganelli fueron muy valiosos. Fue una estadía inolvidable!!

Beautiful Tuscan villa

My family, made up of 7 adults, one grandchild and a babysitter, spent 10 days at this beautiful Tuscan villa in July. The villa is a 10 minute drive from Lucca in the Tuscan hills. It is an hour from Florence, and a half hour from the beach, and other wonderful . day trips, including Cinque Terre, which were all great day trips that we took. The villa itself is a large, gracious and beautifully built 16th century home. The bedrooms are large with many of them ensuite. Two of the bedrooms are in a house at the far side of the property, which we did not use. The layout worked well for our group. Cristine who managed the property was a pleasure to deal with. as was Stephanie, who came every day to help clean the house and help with the garbage etc. While the villa has a beautiful view of the countryside, it backs on to a courtyard with other houses. This did not, however, detract from the countryside setting of the villa. It is beautifully decorated, with comfortable furniture, inside and outside of the house. and the bathrooms are newly renovated. The beds are comfortable with high end linen and plenty of closet space in each room. There are many super markets nearby that have fresh fish, meat, and produce, as well as a delicious bakeries and a pharmacy for all of your needs. The only disappointment, based on the description of the house, is that the kitchen has not been newly renovated. Given our disappointment, the managers of the property did purchase new kitchen gadgets, as well as a clothes dryer for the property. The kitchen is functional but not a newly upgraded kitchen with high end appliances as we had expected and the only reason we have given the villa a four star as opposed to 5 star rating. The managers did everything they could to make our stay comfortable, and were very responsive to our needs, including immediately buying a new pool umbrella to replace the broken one. I would highly recommend the villa for a large family holiday or a group of friends.

Моя семья для отдыха предпочитает выбирать виллы класса люкс, важен интерьер, расположение, масштабы и чистота. Данная вилла отвечает всем запросам, каждая мелочь в этом доме, а замечу, именно антикварная, предаёт дому роскошь и напоминание прошлых веков! Да, возникали некие проблемы во время проживания, все вопросы решались быстро и слажено. До моря действительно ехать 20 минут, вокруг виллы большая инфраструктура. Для того, чтобы почувствовать именно Тоскану, нужно останавливаться немного вдалеке от всех оживленных мест) Рекомендую, как саму виллу, так и владельца! Спасибо за прекрасный отдых!
