Nice little flat with a convenient location, however we found the flat a little too warm even with the windows open, strange smells in the corridors and itâs the far end of the building so you have to take a lift then walk through several corridors/doors before reaching the flat. We did find a fair amount of dust on things like the wooden blinds, skirting boards the fake plants and the plant thing on the bathroom wall as well as a few cobwebs from the Ceiling. The parking space is a bonus the entrance and exit is a little tight for larger cars. I have stayed at better flat in York but it was nice enough, the welcome pack wasnât as nice as in the last property we stayed at but still a nice touch.
After booking a different apartment for our trip to York it got cancelled it was changed to Cocoa lofts at the last minute. We are now really pleased it was changed. This apartment was very easy to access and private parking was also a bonus. It is in a great location for the city. It was very clean and comfortable, however slightly too warm, with no option of a thinner blanket or duvet. Other than that there's nothing I would change.
The room was beautiful, very clean and it was a lot bigger than expected. It was also in a great location, under about 10 minutes from the Shambles. Security inside the building was good.
There was just a few downsides that we picked up on, nothing major but still inconvenient. The car park didn't have a lift, so although it was good to have parking included, we were on the top floor so it was just inconvenient if we wanted to get anything from the car, or use it - so wouldn't be accessible for some. The electric hob didn't work, not a huge issue because we went out for food instead, but had taken food with us to use this. And the corridor in which we walked down to get to our room had a strange smell about it, and wasn't as clean as the apartment itself.
Overall a nice apartment but wouldn't stay in that particular one again.
Lovely modern and well thought out apartment, very clean and well equipped. Welcome pack a nice touch.
One of us found bed to be very comfortable the other wasnât to keen, ( the only reason I gave it 4 stars on comfort) but it would not stop us booking the apartment again.
Would have been more convenient to have 2 sets of keys for the apartment front door and more detailed instructions for the heating.
I look forward to staying again when we are next in York.
Stayed here for 4 days visit to York and it was ideal. Great location 5 minutes walk to centre of York. Very quiet and peaceful you would never think you were in a city. Apartment was spotless and very comfortable. Exactly like the pictures. Loads of hot water and great shower after sightseeing all day. Had everything needed including milk tea and coffee left for your arrival. Having a secure parking space made all the difference as we travelled from Scotland and didnât know the area so knew our car was safe in locked car park on premises. I would highly recommend this apartment to friends and would definitely stay here again.
Located in a quite location but close enough to walk into the centre of York.
The apartment is in an industrial building convertion, which has been done to a good standard. It is modern with clean lines but still felt warm and cosy. However as mentioned in previous reviews it's a shame that signs of wear and tear are starting to appear e.g the crack tile and missing grout in the kitchen area. But putting that aside it is still a great apartment in a good location and would definitely stay here again
This is the second stay I have had in the Cocoa Loft. I have stayed in a couple of the other Cocoa Suites but they don't compare to the Cocoa Loft due to the way it is set out and storage etc. I like the set-up here and feel comfortable etc. The only slight negative this time was the kitchen area. The hob was stained and the floor was cracked and missing grout. Just a little bit of maintenance and it would be tip top again. I am looking at staying here again very soon. I would recommend the Cocoa Loft.
The apartment is excellently finished, to a high standard, with attention to detail.
The bed is very comfortable, despite being a fold-up; the shower is a joy to use đ
The private, secure, car-park is worth rubies, especially as the apartment is genuinely a 5-10 minute walk from the Town Centre! Also, itâs in a quiet area.
Highly recommendedđ
The welcome pack needs updating (instructions are for an old oven, though we did find the correct instruction manual on the shelf!), otherwise excellent- very stylish and modern, well presented apartment...
Good attention to design details.
Lovely shower!
Could do with clearer instructions about the use of the two RFID fobs, the one for the pedestrian door to the car park is hard to operate...
That said, a secure private car park is worth rubies :-)
Genuinely a five-minute walk from the centre of town, and some very good multi-cultural dining...
Overall very happy with the premises, and enjoyed my 2 weeks of stay. I have 2 recommendations:
The radiator may not be sufficient during very cold weather.
No socket for the hairdryer in the bathroom, which is a bit inconvenient.
Stayed within this complex last year and found the accomodation ideal for our needs such as shopping and dining being only a few minutes walk to York city centre.
Clean tidy, comfortable and with allocated parking next door include, very happy with our stay. Just one down side. Within a few days of staying, the internet went down in the apartment which we reported. Sttays York managed to get access to other accomodations internet hub which was suitable for browsing but wasn't strong enough for much downloading. Despite attepmts to have this fixed, the internet as advertised did not come back on for the remainder of the holiday which meant I was having to visit office premises to undertake business work during my break which was the only fault of the holiday.
Would recommend property (if owner has repaired internet) for an ideal base for York.
Been to these apartments last year and is ideal location for shopping. Allocated private secure parking included.
Only let down was internet in the apartment went down first week and although reported, was never working after that. Contacted Stays York who provided an internet signal/ password from another apartment but signal strength only good for occasional browsing.
Apart from that, comfy well furnished apartment 5 mins from city centre shopping.
We were quite impressed with the flat
It was very clean and quiet. Mabye a clearer way to enter property as there are no signs for Cocoa Loft only Rowantree Wharf. Residents are fed up with people going to wrong part as the lift does not indicate Cocoa Loft or that there is first floor. It is slightly confusing finding the way to the city but mabye direction in the flat would be useful. Some basics like tin foil. Salt and more toilet paper and kitchen roll would help. All in all it is an excellent flat and I would recommend it
Cocoa Loft was a really nice studio and well set out. The shelving units were great for dividing the lounge from the bedroom. I would definitely stay in this studio again. The studio also had a parking space in the car park which was very useful.
