Marcher à la plage privée de la belle maison Abels Hill

La maison est une grande maison familiale de la communauté Abels Hill de Chilmark. La communauté partage l'utilisation d'une plage privée de la rive sud avec le magnifique étang de Chilmark pour faire du kayak ou du canoë-kayak, un court de tennis et un accès à des kilomètres de sentiers de randonnée.

La maison dispose de 5 chambres et peut accueillir 10 personnes. 3 lits king size, 2 reines. Les 2 chambres queen ont également un jumeau. Un grand salon / salle à manger au plafond voûté donne sur un mur de verre donnant sur le pré de 5 acres avec mur de pierre et jardin potager biologique que vous pourrez récolter pour votre dîner ou votre smoothie vert!

2 salles de bain complètes plus une salle d'eau et une douche extérieure avec vitrail!

La salle de télévision et la salle de musique avec piano électrique, saxophone, basse et boîte à rythmes sont des espaces supplémentaires pour les jours de pluie.

Il est facile de se rendre à pied à la plage et à l’étang de la maison, qui se trouve en face de la route sud, juste en bas de la colline. Pour vous rendre à la plage, vous devez utiliser notre kayak (qui peut accueillir 2 personnes) ou patauger à travers l’étang peu profond. Depuis Abels Hill, des sentiers de randonnée en forêt ou à pied vous mèneront à des hectares de forêts magiques préservées.

La maison est simple, colorée et joyeuse.

Up Island Gem with Access to Beautiful Private Beach!

The home was perfect for our large group of 7 adults and 7 children. We had plenty of space to sprawl out, both indoors and out. All of the beds were comfortable and the large living area was the perfect space to lounge and play games after days in the beach. The property is secluded so we had no worries with our little ones in and out of the home exploring the grounds. They especially loved the daily visitors, deer and turkeys! The private neighborhood beach was absolutely gorgeous. It is a bit of a process getting there with small children and all their belongings, but completely worth it. Would be a breeze with just adults. Waves were a bit much for the kids one day but glad we went back to check it out later in the week. You need a vehicle given that the home is up island. But it’s fairly central, taking about 25 minutes to get to the major towns (OB, VH and Edgartown). Could be a bit far for those that want to be able to pop in and out of town but great for those that don’t mind being off the beaten path. All bedrooms (aside from the primary bedroom) have AC and were nice and cool for sleeping. The property is very “homey” decorated with funky art, lots of games, instruments, etc. making it feel lived in vs a sterile rental. Maryann answered all my questions prior to booking. Plan to return next summer and take advantage of that fabulous beach more next time!

Magical spot!

We loved Maryann's house. It is located in the south west part of the island near Menemsha and Gay Head. It was perfect for us since our plan was to hang out (plenty of space) and have a memorial by the cliffs. The description of the house matches de pictures. The rooms were very comfortable and there was plenty of space to hang out. We loved sitting in the porch, watching the birds (including wild turkeys!) and listening to the ocean. Very peaceful. The kitchen was well equipped and it was very easy to find anything needed. We highly recommend the experience!

Wedding weekend accommodations

We needed a place to accommodate a few needs:1) enough beds/bedrooms for 9 adults (2 families 5+4) and bathrooms too. [With sheets, bath towels and extra toiletries if needed.] 2) close proximity to wedding venue. [Within 5 miles] 3) cooking/kitchen amenities. This home fulfilled them all and then some extras! Great livingroom/dining area, with sliding door leading to deck/patio, separate TV room, ping pong table, board games, bluetooth speakers, art supplies-drawing paper, pencils, pastels, paint. 4) access to walking paths and beach access. Highly recommend stayong here and would definitely stay here again! Thank you for a Fabulous place(home away from home) to get together with famy from long distances (Texas, Maryland, North Carolina, New York and Connecticut!) Precious (priceless) memories made!!!!!😍💖

Wonderful stay

We went for our dear friends family wedding and the house was very accommodating and gracious. Our two little ones also felt at home because there were games for them to play. Clearly the host seems like a creative and fun person. A pleasure to be in this space.

Fabulous Private Location

We very much enjoyed our stay at the house in April 2021. The house was spacious and very private. Our kids loved the birdfeeder and the chickadees and turkeys that frequented it all day long. We enjoyed the outdoor ping pong table, walking to the Abels Hill Beach (though we got very muddy at the pond!), going to Lucy Vincent Beach, and the nearby tennis courts. We also explored other parts of the island. We had never traveled to the Vineyard for more than a day trip and we very much enjoyed what the island had to offer during the spring. Thank you for sharing your property!

Peaceful getaway in a creative home

We spent a long weekend at Finch Meadow and enjoyed ourselves immensely. The location was beautiful; we loved watching birds swoop in from over the meadow to the bird feeders and walking down to the beach at sunset. House was much bigger than the pictures show. Comfy beds a nice plus! One thing that could be a plus or a minus depending on your expectations is that it feels as if the owners just left--many personal belongings out, fridge full of food. It felt more like we were housesitting for friends while they were away. Overall, a lovely stay.

Fun and relaxing time

We had a great time. The house is beautiful and the property is stunning...enjoying the sunset from the outdoor terrace was a wonderful experience...we would like to come back in a warmer weather to enjoy the beach better...overall...a super 5 !!!

Great place for a stay with friends and family

excellent location with access to one of MVs most beautiful pond. The house is much more spacious than it looks in the pictures--great place to talk, cook , read, play ping pong--and feels happily lived in. Highly recommended. Chickens an additional plus

great house great location great owner

I think the owner left the house in a rush because of a COVID scare in her family so maybe it was not as spotless as one would expect, however, I'm OCD a little bit so that's that. The house is great, Tilly, the manager is wonderful and patient and nice, the chickens the littles one's were fabulous and the beach, once I got there I thought I was dead and lying on the shores of eternity.

Perfect home for a group stay

What a perfect home for a group stay-- spacious and perfectly laid out for a shared experience, with a beautiful great room for sharing meals, games and moments. The layout of the home enhanced the interactions we shared, with an easy indoor/ outdoor and dining/relaxing flow. We didn't discover the local beach until the last day and what a shame that we waited because it was a most glorious beach (that we walked through a shallow river to find)! The vegetable garden was charming and added a nurtured family feel to the property, which was warm and welcoming overall.

The house was a great place for a family reunion and we had the best time.

The beach was beautiful and the house was perfect to visit with family. We danced and played cards in the great room. The owner was super nice. She let us check in early and check out a little later as we only were staying overnight - which was a huge help as there was 10 of us so we had to make 2 trips to the ferry to fit everyone.

Lovely quiet beach house

We had a great time on the vineyard. The location is quiet and peaceful with lots of birds and wildlife in the meadow. The beach is fabulous! Might be a little far to walk with a lot of beach gear/coolers, but it's an easy drive to the private parking area. The house was well equipped with plenty of space to spread out.

Perfect up island retreat

This home and property epitomize what is special about Martha's Vineyard....relaxed, private up island retreat. Perfect for large families or friend groups to let down your hair, morning coffee and yoga on the large deck followed by a solid round of bird watching, more eating and laughing. Access to the best south shore beaches. On a cooler, rainy day, stoke the fireplace and settle in. End the day with a huge dinner with friends and family and star gazing in this special part of the island. Plenty of bedrooms, bathrooms for large groups and the best out door shower!

Spacious, relaxing place for a large family

We loved being situated in the meadow, it was so peaceful and entertaining with the many bird species. You can hear the surf and crickets at night. The walk with optional drive to the private south shore beach was so convenient. This is a great launch pad for up island activities including biking to Gay Head, going to Menemsha, visiting the local country stores and farmers market. We loved picking fresh veggies and herbs to use for dinner. The 3 tennis courts are in great shape and easy to get to. This was a special place on a beautiful part of the Vineyard.
