This property has it all! Location on the river. Lots of Adirondack chairs to relax on. The decor of the retreat is very unique and well done! The owners have gone out of their way to provide everything you might need.
Place was clean and well stocked. Had everything we needed. Nothing better than after a day in the heat hiking in the park to come back and jump in. Grounds were awesome. Only issue is that it had a kitchen equal to a hotel room but at least had an outdoor kitchen with everything needed.
This stay was a 10/10! The balcony overlooking the river, full outdoor kitchen and multiple sitting spots along the river side were perfect after our hiking days in the Sequoias.
The loft was spacious and cozy. We loved it.
This property is everything it said. We absolutely loved our stay here and could totally imagine spending many getaways here if only we didn't live hundreds of miles away. The river, the landscaping, the wood and lighting, the comfortable bed, the balcony and the special decor accents. It was all perfect.
This is a beautiful and romantic haven. Right on the river and my wife and I sat there every morning and evening enjoying the peace and sublime the mother has brought us. This is a rare find comparing with any places we had stayed previously in the Three Rivers. The host surely has a designer sense of decoration, paying attention to every detail for absolute visual feasting. You will definitely be pleasantly surprised for such wonderful experience at River Jewel, we highly recommend it!
Beautiful river setting with areas to sit and enjoy the nature. Outdoor kitchen was very nice and lends to the appreciation of the setting. Ice cold ac was wonderful on hots days. We look forward to returning.
My husband and I stayed there for 4 nights while visiting Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks. It was great to go to sleep and wake up right next to the water. I sat outside for about an hour in the mornings, my husband was even able to photograph the Milky Way. I'd love to
Stay again. The hosts are wonderful!
This property is fantastic in every regard. Larry and Diane have thought of everything at this property. The accommodations were spotless and well appointed. The location is gorgeous and you hear the rushing river inside and out. The outdoor kitchen is superb! The grounds are meticulously maintained and "Colt" is the perfect host and mascot. It sort of feels like camping in the outdoors, but in total luxury and a great space to sleep indoors. Great access to the river and lots of great private spaces to relax in the shade. We will be back again soon!
Everything was clean and comfortable. Especially appreciated the a/c when the temperature hit 90+ the first week of May. Outdoor kitchen had a refrigerator with an ice maker which provided enough ice for our cold drinks. Convenient to sequoia national park. Be sure to try the icecream shop down the road.
The River Jewel property is amazing. The grounds are beautiful. The Sequoia Charm unit is spacious, clean, comfortable and well equipped. Steps outside the unit is the great outdoor kitchen which I used all three mornings. This unit and the attached suite has multiple outdoor seating options on the deck and along the river. The owner's have done a really nice job with the landscaping . The added bonus for me was the owner's dog Colt who greeted me every morning and hung out with me in the evening relaxing on the big rocks in the Kaweah River. I hope to be back some day!
This is an incredible place! The photos donât do it justice. The owners were so helpful and accommodating. Great communication. The suite exceeded our expectations. Very comfortable bed and suite surroundings. We loved sitting on our outdoor balcony and at beautiful spots along the river path. We loved cooking in the outdoor kitchen. It was so awesome and relaxing walking down to the river and sitting in the cool water of the rapids to cool off. We also loved meeting the property ambassador, Colt, a sweet and beautiful doggie that hung out with us a couple times on the river. We would HIGHLY recommend visiting this beautiful retreat!!!!
This place was clean, welcoming and so relaxing. We listened to the sounds of the river all night long and enjoyed it in the mornings and evenings as well. There are several places to sit and enjoy the outdoors. The outdoor kitchen looked perfect though we didn't have a chance to use it while we were there. The bed was super comfy--the best sleep of our trip was in this quiet, relaxing place. It was very close to the Sequoia NP entrance as well. Definitely the place to stay.
This property was amazing; above and beyond our expectations. The owners are friendly and very prompt at answering emails. Their dog should be a good will ambassador! Colt (the dog) was there to greet us and showed us the way best path down to the river. I'll list the pros and, since there aren't any cons, I will list things that might make your stay more enjoyable.
Pros: While the house is a duplex you would never know it. We stayed in the Sequoia Charm, with another couple staying on the other side, and the house is so well built that we never heard a peep from them.
The kitchen is outside and amazing! Coming from Indiana, the thought of an outdoor kitchen was intriguing but I can see how it would work in California. The appliances are top notch and it's even stocked with condiments like olive oil, ketchup, salt and pepper, etc. If cooking isn't your thing, there are several grills to choose from.
There is a small refrigerator in the room along with a microwave, a sink, and a coffeemaker. The bathroom is more than adequate for 2 people but the shower itself is on the small size.
The room has a balcony that overlooks the Kaweah River and it was soothing to sit out there in the early morning and evening to drink coffee, read, chat with my husband, and just enjoy being unplugged from everything. (They do offer wifi so I was still able to check email and play games.)
Things to know:
The Sequoia Charm is a loft (although very big) and there is a slightly steep set of stairs that you'll need to be able to get up and down. I am a middle aged Mom from Indiana and didn't have any problems. Even with my extremely overpacked suitcase.
The town is small with limited places to eat. It's easy enough to stock up on groceries as you pass through Fresno and store them in either fridge. We ate at the Pizza Place and the Mexican Restaurant; both were decent. The two ice cream stores were delicious!
I do need to bring up ants. There were none in the room; no bugs at all, but the ants do love the path where the chairs are and the rocks in the river. To avoid them, either take the lawn chairs that are provided and actually sit in the river, or (ask the owners first) spray down the area you want to sit at with ant spray. In the middle of the day the ants weren't a problem, only when it was cool outside.
This place is amazing and I can highly recommend it to anyone who wants to just get away for a few days.
Canât imagine a better place to stay if youâre visiting Sequoia National Park. Just a short drive to the park entrance. The multiple outdoor lounging areas made it a great place to hang out when not at the park. Highly recommend!
Everything was perfect! Easy check in, very clean and cute, gorgeous location, and very close to the park. I stayed with my teenage son and we both loved it. Thank you!
The suite is beautifully decorated with a great river view. The outdoor kitchen was well stocked and easy to utilize. Excellent access to the national park.
