*** From the minute we arrived, we were gently persuaded by the beauty of Bearwallow Denâs natural setting and perch position to take in memorable sunsets and all that natureâs best has to offer! The multi-viewpoint wrap-around porch sponsors rocking, swinging or just hanging out. I enjoyed multiple Cherry Cokes with my Partner as she sipped down her Coffee, both of us in awe of the surroundings! The Den is cozy and very comfortable; with everything a guest could possibly need to fully enjoy their stay. The location is prime, we made short scenic drives to Downtown Hendersonville and Ashville. Our gracious and kind Host/Owner, Teresa, was always at the ready to meet our needs and to give us tips and pointers on the richness of the area. Bearwallow Den is uniquely appointed, clean, and well maintained, inside and out. BEARWALLOW DEN IS THE PLACE TO LIVE IN THE MAGNIFICENT NOW - SUNUP TO SUNDOWN!!!
The house lived up to the advertisement which is unusual these days. The owners were very nice, made check in easy and provided accurate answers to my questions. If you are looking for seclusion, privacy with great sunsets this is the place to be! I recommend this place to everyone & I will be back again.
Beautiful cabin with great mountain view. Master bedroom was outstanding
Lovely setting, beautiful home with lovely surroundings. Quiet and loved the gorgeous stone wood-burning fireplace. Very cozy home & we especially enjoyed the big porches. Highly recommend!
where to start, from the time we arrived everywhere we turned inside or outside this property did not disappoint. The beautiful construction of the property to the decor was 1st class and gave off a great Vibe. It is not only unique, hidden yet close to "town" if you choose to leave the property and adventure out to do and see Hendersonville and surrounding areas including Ashville also the home is luxurious in amenities.2 LARGE Master bedrooms 1 downstairs and 1 upstairs with a spacious beautiful kitchen and living /sitting area with lovely fireplace. The HUGE wrap around porch provides lots of choices for early mornings or late afternoons to breathe in the mountain air and enjoy the wildlife and sounds of quiet while you know the World is going on yet you have escaped for a bit and can do as much or as little as you want....you are in Mountain paradise. Can not wait to return to this property...the host Teresa was awesome with all kinds of info on the property and area.
We loved our stay! Everything is within a 20-30 min drive which allows you to truly disconnect, if needed. The cabin was cozy and we enjoyed unobstructed views of the stars, Starlink satellites, and a nice campfire in the company of some turkeys. Overall, and awesome property with a lot to offer!
Our family was looking for a mountain cabin with an indoor wood burning fireplace and outdoor fire pit to enjoy a long fall weekend of apple picking and enjoying the fall colors. This cabin was perfectly equipped, cozy and a real mountain getaway. Our family will love to stay head again and again.
This was our second visit to the heavenly Bearwallow Den. It was even more magical than our first visit last year. And, we will come again and again. We just can't say enough about the beauty of the property and the warm, elegant and perfectly outfitted home. First class accommodations in an idyllic setting. Bruce and Teresa are the most amazing hosts.
We all felt immediately at home, so welcoming and cozy, yet very spacious. The beds were very comfortable to all of us. It seems that Teresa and Bruce thought of everything to make their guests feel at home. We had quite a bit of rain and stayed in most of the time, but a warm, wood fire in the fireplace and coffee and cocoa made it special and memorable. We will most definitely go back!
My husband asked for a log cabin and I wanted beautiful and up to date. We both got what we wanted. The setting was beautiful and property well maintained. Teresa was very responsive. The drive into town was not long. Overall, a great trip.
Beautiful property. It is clear the owners have paid attention to the details. Kitchen has everything you need and quality dishes and cookware. Linens and towels are great and the beds super comfortable. Great views and they even provide the firewood for the fireplace and fire pit. We were lucky enough to see fireworks from a neighboring property for NYE. If you are looking for R&R this is the place, just be prepared as the internet is a little spotty at times (through no fault of the owners) but if you want to disconnect and enjoy your surroundings - this is the place for you!
Stayed for a friends wedding who was getting married elsewhere on Bearwallow mountain⊠so beautiful! The wind was wicked when we were there but I swear we watched the leaves change color before our eyes. The neighbor had dogs that barked quite a bit but it did not disturb our sleep. We saw many turkeys! This house was listed on another very common rental booking website for a lower price, but I was blocked from booking in that website. I donât mind paying a fair price for a wonderful place and good hosts, but didnât appreciate the bait and switch. I believe the problem was remedied. Would stay here again.
Teresa and Bruce are attentive and gracious hosts, anticipating every need, including a quick start for the fireplace/smoke pit which they were kind enough to leave on our doorstep one evening! They also brought a minor issue to our attention that was resolved promptly and seamlessly and was greatly appreciated. Communication with Teresa was excellent throughout the entire process, including pre-booking and post check-out, and we also had an opportunity to meet her which was a bonus.
Teresaâs attention to detail is uncanny; the accommodations are luxurious and the decor is exquisite. Bearwallow Cabin is elegantly appointed, ultra comfortable and impeccably clean. It exudes warmth and tranquility throughout. The sprawling landscape, view of the mountains and endless sunsets were the perfect end to every evening. The only issue I had was getting my husband to leave the cabin to go sightseeing! When we did manage to get out, we visited Downtown Ashville before going to the Biltmore Estates for Candlelight Christmas which was an amazing experience. We also dined at Postero, Umi and Arabella in Downtown Hendersonville and highly recommend all. The Pinball Museum in Downtown Hendersonville was a hit with hubby and kids too!
The memories we made will last a lifetime. Weâre already planning our next visit. Canât wait to return to Bearwallow Cabin! Thanks Teresa and Bruce for sharing your little piece of Heaven in Hendersonville with us. :-)
Cabin is beautifully made & well maintained with comfortable accommodations. Nice property with pleanty of stocked wood for fires, indoor or out. Hosts are friendly & helpful. Wifi is weak, but had cell service. Bearwallow Trail is close and a nice hike to pretty views & cows.
Bearwallow Den is just as it is described. The cabin is cozy and had all the comforts of home-warm bedding, firewood for fires at night (inside or outside). It is conveniently located to various trails for hiking and 30 min to Asheville to see the sights or enjoy downtown scene. We had everything we needed and spent our anniversary weekend here and highly recommend this cabin. The hosts Teresa and Bruce were very responsive and kind. We couldnât have asked for a better weekend seeing the beautiful fall colors of the Blue Ridge mountains! Thank you Teresaâwe will come back!
We really enjoyed our stay at the cabin. It is a great house with lots of room, great big porch, nicely furnished, well-stocked, and had all the amenities we needed. It is a bit remote from shopping etc, but nice and quiet and private. We saw deer, bears, and wild turkeys. We would recommend it highly. Thank you Teresa!!

The cabin was amazing, had a great experience just relaxing and enjoying the peace and quiet from the back porch.
Teresa was a pleasure to talk to and made sure we had everything we needed.
What a fantastic place to come and disconnect from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. So peaceful. So quiet. Just what we needed. Everything was clean and check in couldn't have been easier. The hosts were quick to respond when we asked about the WiFi hotspot. We are already planning another trip!
If you are looking for a peaceful stay in a tucked away cabin, this is your place! Beautiful scenery with public hiking trails in walking distance. The cabin is spotless and well take care of. Potterybarn sheets and new mattresses are throughout. The kitchen is equipped with new appliances and utensils.
We can't recommend this place enough! We will be back
One of the absolute best stays ever! From from pre-stay contact and throughout our stay, Bruce and Teresa were outstanding hosts. They responded immediately to all questions and were always available. They even made our daughter's Christmas by decorating the house with all the Christmas trimmings. So considerate and thoughtful. And the house itself is magic. Incredibly clean with luxurious outfitting throughout. Luscious towels and king-sized beds that we would have in our own home. The master suite is just beyond heaven. The property is spacious and very remote and private, which we loved. Minutes away from Bearwallow Mountain hiking trails. The fireplace was huge and amazing. Tons of comfortable hand-woven rugs that softened and enhanced the all-wood floors. Wrap around porch with perfect views of the gorgeous sunsets. Just everything you could ever want in a vacation stay. We truly felt as if it was our home away from home. Kudos to Bruce and Teresa for creating and sharing this slice of heaven with others. We were privileged enough to make life-long memories at their home. We hope to be able to visit again. Thank you Bruce and Teresa!
Bearwallow Den was a perfect getaway for my family! The pictures do not do justice to really show this beautiful cabin! It was very clean, fully equipped kitchen and the owners were very responsive and accommodating. Beautiful grounds with great porch to take in the whole property. Definitely a place to relax. Highly recommend!
This beautiful log cabin style house had everything we needed for a relaxing mountain getaway. There were comfortable beds, a well appointed kitchen and a wrap around porch complete with rocking chairs for sunset viewing and early morning coffee. Everything is exactly as pictured. It is a winding road to get up to the house but easy to find and not too difficult at all to drive. Owners were great and very nice as we had the opportunity to meet them.
My husband grew up here and we have recently purchased property that we are currently restoring to native species and rehabilitating to improve the forest and habitat for local wildlife. We have wild turkey, deer, countless wild birds and if you are lucky you may catch a glimpse of a black bear. PEACEFUL, FRESH AIR AND AMAZING VIEWS!!!!!!!
This mountain has always been special to my husband since the first time he came here when he was a young boy. This cabin allows one to pause and absorb everything this special place has to offer. The views are breathtaking, the flora spectacular, and the air is clean. Take a deep breath, while you listen to nature's harmony and rejuvenate your body, soul and mind. It's the most romantic spot on Bearwallow Mountain. It is conveniently located to most any activity one could want. Great local food, brews, and activities are convenient if you decide to venture out.
