Perfectly Positioned for a Weekend in the Vineyards

The place was clean and had a great kitchen and open living space which was ideal for us, a group of 8 friends.

Amazing house for weekend away

Fabulous house in the heart of the Hunter region. Spacious, beautifully presented and really well equipped. Wonderful views and the pop-up on the doorstep made for a great weekend away.

Beautiful getaway location

It was a beautiful large property. Perfect for a girls getaway with the warm fire over looking the dining table. Lots of room for the guests and beautiful scenery from each window! This photo was just after sunrise. Such a serene view!

Gorgeous property, fantastic getaway!

As three couples looking for a relaxing yet fun getaway at the Hunter Valley, we are so happy that we chose to stay at Harkham house. The house itself was beautiful, on large land. The house had a warm, modern yet classic cottage feel about it. It was definitely spacious enough for 3 couples to comfortable enjoy ourselves and was closely located to all the wineries we had hoped to go to! Would definitely recommend staying at this clean, spacious and stunning property.

Perfect Getaway

The location was amazing. It was only a short drive to the main areas including Cessnock, which was helpful. The peaceful country retreat was just what we all needed to relax and refuel. The property itself was beautiful, it had everything we needed and it was clean and tidy. The beds were comfortable and we appreciated the additional sofa bed in the larger bedroom. We would highly recommend this property to a small or large group. The host was very friendly and the cellar door on site is a bonus.

Quiet and tucked away from the town

Perfect. What you read is what you get. I had to change my plans this Christmas holidays and came across Harkham House and it didn't disappoint. It had everything we needed for our stay and surrounded by country life and quiet. Quiet was the most important thing I wanted to have for my getaway. Will definitely book again.

Floor plan is good.

The outside of the property is run down. Inside is well laid out and kitchen very clean and functional. Drainage in the bathroom was extremely slow and thin towels with no access to the laundry made the stay awkward. With infants, I would not recommend no access to a laundry!

Nice place ... Some issues.

Extraordinary, given how much the house costs, that there is no wifi or cable/satellite TV. Noone warned us that the adjacent restaurant would be closed. The access code arrived hours late by text and email. That said, we had a good time. Amazingly quiet though we used up a lot of phone data using Spotify with no wifi.

Amazing central location

Harkham house is a renovated house in an excellent location close to the main Pokolbin wineries junction. The presentation is excellent and the fireplace was stacked and ready to keep us all warm. Some of the bedrooms were a little cozy/tight for an adult couple and we missed a few kitchen utensils that we are used to. While we were a little surprised to find part of the house had been separated for the property manager who permanently resides there, we were never inconvenienced by it nor did we feel we had to tiptoe around. The views from the rear of the property included early morning hot air balloons and the miniature shetland ponies in the adjoining paddock were a welcome surprise for the kids. Some terrific memories of our weekend were made. Thank you.

Unexpected neighbour

We were a group of 5 girls coming away for a long weekend to taste some wine and hang out in the house, eat nice food and drink good wine, while listening to some good music (with a bit of singing thrown in). Upon arrival to house, we quickly were told that there was a 'care taker/winery employee' staying in the garage of the house. Whilst this never really became an issue during the stay (we still did all the things we wanted to) I feel like this is something that should be highlighted in the ad for the house, as we expected to have the entire property to ourselves. Other than that, the stay was good.
