This is right in the middle of Savery Island, we able to get around with bikes and see the most beautiful beaches. Our cabin was the perfect size for us, had a great deck to enjoy after ling beach days. Everything we needed and was very clean.
If you're looking for a quiet getaway with a 10 minute to the beach this is your place. Amazing Island to visit and the listing is just as on the website. Clean, comfortable and Helen was there with help any time I had additional questions
We are a family of four with two teens and we had a very pleasant stay of four nights. The cabin is small but bright and clean. The island is really beautiful. We brought our own bikes from home and roamed all over. It's just the right size for biking and the people are very friendly. We should have brought paddleboards or something like that too. Great cabin and a great place!
Great place to get away from the city. Cozy cabin with the essentials. If you like to walk great location. Bikes were available. Hostess was friendly and welcoming, approachable. People on the island were very friendly and welcoming.
We appreciate the comfy beds up in the loft and the provided bikes, but we find this cabin a bit noisy, and a bit small for our family of 4. Overall, this cabin is cute and comfortable, and we enjoyed our week long vacation in Savary Island.
Thank you Helen & Bart!
We spend wonderful time in your beautiful cabin.
We are coming to Savary every year.
Your place is the best!
Hope to visit Breathing Cabin next year again!

We loved our time on Savary. The cabin was well equipped with everything we needed. Itâs in the middle of the island And was a nice cool oasis to return to after being at the beach all day. We used the bikes a lot to get around. We will definitely come again. Thanks for a wonderful time.
Sitting on the deck, surrounded by the shade of large trees, the forest floor covered with ferns, watching three young bucks rest in the shade, what could be better? Perhaps listening to the busy tapping of the Pileated and Hairy woodpeckers, or the bell like chirp of the brown creepers. The sing-song of the Swainson's thrush is always a pleasure. Of course, the proximity to two great shorelines is a bonus. Nope, can't think of much that would be better.
Our family of 4 had a great week on Savary, thanks to Helen and Bart! The cabin is ideally situated near 3 beaches (best ones on Savary). Cabin was cozy and comfortable and suited us just fine. Use of bikes and kayaks was a real bonus, though if you wish for more than a splash in the bay, best to bring your own kayak. We were caught off-guard to take our garbage with us and were short of cash when asked to pay the $6/bag dumping fee. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and do not hesitate to recommend this cabin if you're looking for an escape to Savary.
Enjoyed this cabin and experience on Savary Island. Hosts were very responsive to our many, many questions prior to our stay. Enjoyed the kayaks and hikes to the various beaches. Saw seals, eagles, hawks, deer, even a black bear in Lund on this trip. Beaches are a short but fairly steep hike away; just be aware that this cabin is not really at sea level. At the high point of the island. Good stairways and path to beaches made it fairly accessible for us. Having spotty cell phone coverage and no WiFi really allowed us to unplug. Bed was comfortable and cabin was outfitted more than we expected based on reviews. Would recommend for a true get away experience. (There are really loud ravens in the neighborhood!)
A lovely little cottage with everything you need - rustic yes but it has electricity, delicious running water, hot shower, stove & fridge - what more could you need?! The place was quite clean with only the exception of the floor but it's kind of like glamping so just bring your flip flops for wearing inside. Helen was travelling when I tried to reach her so it took a bit to get in touch but when she did - all my questions were answered. Bed upstairs was comfy - bring your own sheets tho! Wood stove warmed the place perfectly on the rainy day. Really appreciated the bikes although they too are "rustic" but they did allow us to ride the whole island. We went out for a lovely paddle with the kayaks. All in all a wonderfully relaxing holiday. We would love to come back again. Thank so much Helen!!!
Nice cabin on a wonderful island, but some communication issues
We enjoyed our stay: Savary Island is a wonderful place (5 stars!). The cabin is well located, in a cedar and fir grove, and the beach is not too far away (only a 10 minute walk). Our host responded to our emails quickly, but was not always clear about what was available in the cabin (for ex. it was not clear that sheets were not provided). Other things were not provided, ex. a bath mat in the bathroom, scrub brush in the kitchen. We did bring our own bath towels, but coming to the island without a car, and having to bring enough food for our stay was already a lot to carry. It is not realistic to expect visitors to bring bedding and bathroom/kitchen staples. At the very least, it should be clearly listed on the website. As well, the website said we should contact the host for wi-fi, but when we did, we were told that it was not available. Again, it would have been nice to post this information on the website.
This wonderful cabin is a gem of a find on the wonderful Savary Island. Bart and Helen were amazing hosts and incredibly attentive to us throughout our entire stay.
The cabin is ample and beautifully decorated, it really made us feel at home. It has large bay windows (with appropriate blinds to provide shade) which let you really soak in the lush trees and make you feel like you are in a tiny oasis in the island forest.
The kitchen is very clean, well stocked with plenty of pots, pans, utensils etc. and a working propane fridge and stove. The bathroom is also very comfortable and clean, with a strong shower to rinse off after long days lounging on the beach.
The location is fantastic and centrally located. Mermaid Rock Beach is a 5-10 minute walk (even faster on bikes), and Sutherland beach a 5-8 minute walk in the opposite direction. Indian point /Meadows/etc. are also very easily accessible on foot or bike from here.
The cabin is nestled in some large trees which provide tons of cooling shade on those ultra hot days. There is a massive deck/patio which wraps around the cabin on which you can sunbathe, dry your wet stuff, or simply take in the views.
They have even provided a nice wood picnic table and some built in benches the patio so you can have some nice meals/drinks outside. You can even get a good view of the sunset from the deck through the trees, where you are also treated to a refreshing sea breeze in the evenings.
Although some of the reviews state that the location is not accurate, this is simply not true. The cabin is between Vancouver Blvd and Savary Island road, and in a prime location. We were able easily beach hop around the island with our dog during our stay here.
We booked a land transfer service which has us at the cabin doorstep within 20 minutes of arriving on the island with all of our stuff. If you are at all hesitant about booking a stay a this place due to it being far from the docks, we found it very easy to book all our needs through Savary Island Ferry. They coordinated our water taxi, land transfer and parking in one booking, getting all of our stuff from our car to the cabin right on schedule.
All in all, our stay here was lovely. Our only regret is not having booked a longer stay!
Very relaxing and tranquil. Great location close to beaches on both sides of island and equidistant to either end. Welcoming to both us and our dogs. Helen had terrific islands insights as she lives there most of the season and has for 14 years. Also offered use of their 2 bikes and viewing deck.
We stayed for 3 days. Small cozy cabin located in the woods. Excellent location for easy access to beach and about a half hour walk to Indian Point. Owners live beside the cabin and kindly allowed us access to their BBQ and were incredibly helpful when needed.
We'd been planning our visit to the island for a long time and were delighted with our experience. The card, wine and chocolate were wonderful anniversary surprises and we greatly appreciated Bart bringing us some milk. The property is close to 2 popular beaches and we enjoyed those every day.
I found this cute cozy cabin 9 years ago. It is situated between 2 outstanding beaches on a wooded lot with another cabin. I bought both..I use the other one for personal use-mostly 1 husband 2 teenage sons and 2 teenage daughters lol. I have been in love with Savary for years, and couldn't quite believe how lovely this spot is. We live across the water fromSavary, on Vancouver island, and get to look at its beautiful shores everyday from my home beach. I'm an optician and my hubby is a plumber-we work hard to keep a little piece of heaven on our doorstep.
The craftsmanship of this cabin really caught my eye-the staircase is so pretty, and everything has been so well made. It just nestles in the woods between two magnificent beaches with amazing views-too easy.
Access to everything Savary has to offer from magnificent beaches to some pretty serious hiking and biking. The large deck is fabulous for outdoor eating and entertaining-the cabin was once the Chocolate Lily-an infamous restaurant on Savary-!
