The Space: Inside Sammy's Seaside Hideaway, you'll find a cosy and inviting base for relaxation and exploration. The apartment features a small comfortable living area with a Smart TV and Wi-Fi, a fully equipped kitchen, and a queen-sized bed ensuring a restful night's sleep. The clean and fresh bathroom doubles as a convenient laundry with a washing machine.
Discover the vibrant atmosphere of Henley Beach with its close proximity to the beach and local amenities. Sammy's offers easy access to an array of cafes, restaurants, and boutique shops along Henley Beach Road and the Esplanade. Spend your days swimming, sunbathing, or exploring the scenic coastal trails.
Guests are welcome to make use of the communal BBQ entertaining area located at the front of the building. We provide BBQ tools and cleaning products for our guests in the apartment. As this area is a communal space, it's the responsibility of guests and residents to keep it clean after use.
Please note, we currently have a portable DeLonghi convection heater available for heating only, and portable fans. We have a new AC unit that is located in the living area.
Due to the building's gravity-fed water system, the water pressure is low. For the best experience, we recommend avoiding the use of multiple water sources, such as the shower and kitchen tap, at the same time.
Guest Access: The property is conveniently and thoughtfully set up for a easy self check-in. The entire apartment is all yours during your stay. A single car carport (for guest use only) is located at the rear of the building, with easy and close access to the apartment. Free parking also available on street frontage.
The Neighborhood: The Henley Beach Hotel is 150m up the road, with the Henley Beach Road Precinct 500m away from the apartment, which features grocery shopping and restaurants. Henley Square is also very close, just under 1km away, with plenty of local businesses to choose from, including retail, icecream, pubs, cafes & restaurants. Foodies are really spoiled for choice here, so reward yourself with a fabulous coffee, a glass of wine or a meal in one of the many interesting cafés or restaurants, ranging from casual to formal dining.
Getting Around: You can walk to almost everything you need from here. Buses are easily accessible from Seaview Road, you can catch the express bus into the city.
Other Things to Note: We supply enough toilet rolls and other consumables for the average stay, however please note for longer stays, and depending on your usage, you may need to purchase more.
Kindly note that our cleaners do not tend to the communal BBQ area, so it's the responsibility of guests and residents to keep it clean thoroughly after each use. The same as you would for a community park BBQ.
We currently only have a portable DeLonghi convection heater available for heating. There is also a fitted AC unit in the living area and a freestanding fans.
For extended stays over 21+ nights, mid-stay servicing is required for the upkeep of the property. We will notify you when this is due to occur

It was okay
All the dishes were dirty and disgusting. The roof above the toilet leaked and the heater didn’t work. The washing machine didn’t really wash the clothes they smelled really bad afterwards

Thank you for your feedback. We're genuinely sorry to hear that your experience wasn’t a positive one, though we’re surprised most of these concerns weren’t raised with us during your stay, as we would have been happy to assist.
The leak above the toilet was reported and attended to the same day. As it originated from the apartment above — which we don’t manage — we had to work through the building’s strata and their plumber, which unfortunately delayed a full repair. This issue has since been resolved.
The heater in the apartment is a new unit, installed earlier this year. As we received no report during your stay about it not working, we weren't aware there was a problem but will certainly check it now. The same goes for the washing machine — no previous or subsequent guests have raised concerns, but we’ll inspect it to ensure it’s functioning properly.
Cleanliness is a high priority for us, and had we been informed of any issues upon arrival, we would have sent our team out immediately to resolve them.
We always encourage guests to report concerns during their stay so we can address them in real time. Nonetheless, we appreciate your feedback and the opportunity to follow up.

I always read the reviews to get a sense of a property - this one didn’t have any on VRBO so decided to give it a try. I also find it humorous when people complain after the fact when they didn’t raise any issues at check in - note, I did. If there were reviews, this is what I would have learnt;The Good - nicely updated, new furnishings, new TV, comfy bed, great location.The Not So Good - No AC - there was language (now updated) that indicated that AC was to be installed 4 months ago, ok… no worries. Turns out it hasn’t been installed and seemed to me like including that language was at best sloppy or at worse deliberately mis-leading. To the credit of the owners they dropped off another fan on day 3. The hot water pressure - again to the credit of the host, I was informed at check-in that the water pressure is low and that best case is to not use the kitchen and bathroom at the same time, perfect - it’s just me, so I can do that. The hot water pressure in the building (which I heard is being addressed) is COMICALLY bad and I grew up in the NE Suburbs in the 80’s (and that was bad). I can live with that, except you will need a degree in Physics, Engineering and Plumbers license to find the right ratio of (slow) hot water and (faster) cold water in the shower.Oh and the washing machine likes to move into the bedroom when on spin cycle.Hosts were responsive and owners came with an extra fan - so thanks for that.
