Thanks for taking the time to leave a review. While this home may not have been the ideal fit for your trip, the homeowner has recently made several updates to improve the guest experience. These include brand-new laminate flooring throughout, a newly installed chair-height toilet, fresh paint on both the house and shed, and bringing in a new cleaner to ensure a higher standard of cleanliness moving forward. Nice Villas home

The place was perfect for what we were looking for. It was about a 15 minute drive to downtown and the beach. It was easy to get in contact with someone if we needed anything in regard to the property. Would stay again!

Adorable and grungy

Super cute spot. Needs to get rid of 75% of the furniture that serves no purpose other than collecting dust and junk. Also get rid of broken furniture and broken outside bench. Grass was overgrown as well. Would definitely return.

Cozy ranch near the beach

The location is excellent, especially for off-season if you want to still be near open restaurants and amenities! The check in process was smooth and easy. Host required us to bring sheets and towels, and the tv only had DirecTV (we couldn’t find any hookups for streaming services).

Pleasant Stay

The house was as advertised. Everything worked, beds were reasonably comfortable and check-in/check out was a breeze. Only real complaint was that the house next door looked completely run down and the location was a little further from Cape May than I thought. We will be looking a little further south next summer, but we still had a pleasant stay.

Cozy Property, Great Location

We decided to take a last minute trip to the shore before the hectic Labor Day weekend crowd. We found this very affordable cozy rental that was the perfect size for our little family. The yard is much bigger than we imagined. It’s located about 15-20 minutes from beaches - cape May and wildwood boardwalk. Perfect space to eat dinner and sleep after spending the day in the sun.

Comfortable and Convenient—Highly Recommended!

We rented this property at the last minute for a weekend getaway to Wildwood. Though it was roughly a 20-minute drive, it was worth it to stay in such a pleasant area with conveniences like driveway parking, a front and back deck, and a spacious yard. The property looked exactly like the photos, and the check-in/check-out process was simple. The guest contact was prompt and friendly in answering any questions we had. Overall, it was a great stay in a charming little home full of character!

The house is as advertised: not perfect. However, it was perfect for the price and our needs of a roof, a place to cook, and a bed. I needed to call the owner for a new key lock number and she was pleasant and helpful. We took the 5 minute walk to sunset beach every night and were delighted to end our days this way. The neighborhood is quiet and the people friendly. The 3 unit air conditioners cooled the house well enough with all window shades closed. Constructive criticism:The mattresses smelled strongly of vanilla- I get terrible migraines from smells and this wasn’t the best for me the middle wheel on the frame of the queen bed is bent and unable to support the bed The house is full of old useless furniture that just makes the place feel smaller and makes it harder to cool. The kitchen needs to be reorganized. Overall we had a pleasant stay. I wouldn’t recommend it to friends but I would consider staying here again for price, if they fixed the smell of the mattresses.

Thank you for staying at our house. We will look into the issues with the wheel on the support for the queen bed. All of the bed linens were just laundered. I cannot know what a smell of vanilla would come from. I am truly sorry that it caused you any discomfort.

Good location, questionable stains

The location of this property was great, especially for the price. It looked basically as pictured, but much less shiny and nice than the photos lead you to believe. The interior was definitely somewhat run down with questionable stains on the beds and mattress protectors. The “king” bed was two twins pushed together and neither of the beds were very comfortable. Had the vibes of a late grandparent’s house that got inherited and turned into a rental but wasn’t touched or updated at all. If you’re not spending a lot of time in the property it’s fine, but I would recommend bringing even more linens than necessary, like blankets and pillow cases as well. Other than the weird stains it did seem reasonably well cleaned.

Not a great experience

The only good thing about this trip was we were able to check in earlier. When we arrived the screen door was damaged from wind, not the owners fault but every time we left, had to make sure door was completely shut. Toilet was leaking so had to empty bowl so would not over flow. The pictures look so much better, than in person. House is to be pet free, but my friend had huge allergy attacks due to being allergic to animals. When we were packing to leave, we found a dead mouse in kitchen which again not owners fault, but could have had the place cleaned of the mouse poop found in living room. Out of all the places we have stayed the past 15+ years in Cape May, we will never stay at this place again.

Full transparency

At face value, the space does match the photos. But in real life, this space was not nearly as clean as the reviews indicate. It doesn’t appear to have had a cleaning service attend to it in any way other than what a renter would do to tidy up before leaving. The bedding has stains, the shag carpet is matted to the extreme that even a shampooing would not bring it back to normal. The tack strip at the rear bedroom has nails protruding out and they are covered with tape to try n prevent any injury. The baseboard heater cover is falling off in the bathroom and there is tile missing in some places, while there is tile in other places being held up by tape. There is a cart in the kitchen that has a sign that says “do not move” because there is some sort of safety issue with the floor below. We rented this space out of desperation due to a low availability in wildwood for a large event. So I wasn’t considering the cost, when booking it. Hindsight, unless this rental was half the price of comparable needs and I needed to save money, I would not book this place again.

Disappointing Stay –Home Needs Significant Attention

We appreciated that the home’s exterior was freshly painted and that the location was as advertised. We also noted that although there were many mouse traps throughout the home, we did not see or hear any mice during our stay.Unfortunately, the interior condition of the home was extremely disappointing and far below what was represented in the listing photos. The house had a strong, unpleasant odor of mothballs and what seemed to be decaying rodents. It was difficult to feel comfortable from the moment we entered.The home was in a very run-down state, with multiple maintenance and cleanliness issues throughout. These were not limited to:Broken or patched furnitureBroken curtain rodsSpider websWall tiles that were broken and taped back onBuckets of cleaning products left out and visibly dirtySticky, unclean floors and carpetsRandom items like socks, wood under couch cushionsDuct-taped and broken items scattered throughoutDirty dishes inside cabinetsFrayed carpets and cluttered closetsRust and dirt around the tub and shower curtainPeeling paint on baseboard heatersBlood stains on mattress and headboard protectorsGarbage visible in the front yardWater damage on the ceilingCracked and poorly painted sinkDoorbell held on with tapeWe did not feel comfortable sitting on any of the furniture due to the overall condition and cleanliness. The photos on the listing gave the impression of a much more maintained and welcoming space, which was unfortunately not the case.

We followed up with the homeowner after reading your feedback, and they wanted to share the following:- We were very surprised by these comments and immediately asked our cleaning and maintenance teams to double-check the property; neither found broken or taped furniture, but we’ve asked to be alerted right away if anything changes.- The curtain rod has been removed and will be replaced as soon as there’s enough time between bookings. We also plan to repaint the heater once we can properly air out the space.- The sofa was intentionally reinforced to meet our personal needs and is not meant to be used as a bed. We’ll add a note to clarify this for future guests.- We’ve shared your feedback with our cleaner, who is replacing the mattress pad and doing a more detailed review of under-cushion and cabinet areas. We’re also revisiting trash procedures with both guests and staff.Thanks for your honest feedback, it helps us continue to improve for future travelers!
