We could not have had a better time. Kelley is an excellent hostess/owner. We had absolutely everything we needed and the enormous fenced in back yard was stupendous for our dog. She thought she'd gone to heaven ! The description does not do the house justice. Definitely coming back.
Had a fabulous stay! Space was super clean and was well thought out for those with dogs! The beds were super comfy, and they had all the channels on their TV! The proximity to downtown was perfect, and the backyard space is absolutely perfect for furry friends! The pool area is separate from the fenced in area, so no need to worry about any pool issues with pets!
I have never been so impressed with a rental before! The property is amazing and the cleanest place I have ever stayed at. Kelley was so friendly and helpful. We will definitely be back!
Kelley was a great host, communicative, friendly, and clearly a person who understood dogs :) The house was very clean and well stocked. It was lovely to be able to hang out on the deck and let our city dogs rest in the sunlight. Our more athletic dog did find the one 4ft spot in the fence (otherwise the entire fence is 6ft) and jumped out, though she found her way back pretty quickly. Kelley was very understanding of our dogs and offered fence solutions for the future. It seems like there is a great community of people who appreciate this place!
Everything was wonderful. Dogs had a wonderful time with such a big back yard. The place was very clean and extras provided. The deck was wonderful and spacious.
Kelly new lots of history about Cape May and was excited to talk to you about where places are.
The only negative thing would be the noise from the furnace. When it came it it was very hard to holda conversationwithoutyelling. .
The house was very clean and just perfect for our stay. The beds were comfortable, bathroom was a nice size, air conditioning worked well, and the patio was lovely to sit out on any time of day. The pool was wonderful and there were plenty of floats to choose from. The backyard was amazing for our dog! From about 8-4 there are wasps that congregate in the center part of the yard. Since my husband is allergic, I took the daytime shift in the yard. Our dog happens to be a natural perimeter walker so it was fine but it could be an issue if your dog likes to chase bees. They were all gone by 4 pm and we felt comfortable using the whole yard. Kelley was nice enough to give us some citronella candles to help when we asked. Will absolutely book again the next time we want to stay in cape May. Was a quiet, peaceful, relaxing week and just what we needed.
Let me start off by saying the host Kelley and her husband are awesome, wonderful and very caring people. They made my family feel like we were part of her family. The house was very clean and cozy and the yard was huge for our dog and even the kids to play ball. My family had a wonderful time staying. We will be back definitely.
Overall this was a great property for a family of five, with a great outside area for family as well as dogs to play or relax however they choose. It also has a beautiful pool area to relax if that is more your speed. The host is very friendly as well as very helpful no matter what your familyâs needs. I would definitely stay here again.
Awesome Host/Owners, nice quiet place, clean and well kept. Nice deck and fenced in yard for your pets. The location was great! Close to 3 different beaches, wineries, breweries, restaurants. Loved it, kidâs (young adults) had a great time but most of all Milo got to come with us and he to enjoyed the beach and wilderness trails. It was a great experience and Cap May is a beautiful beach town with so much to offer. The worst part is, now i have to unpack : (
We loved the apartment, it was very clean and the host was friendly. We initially paid to bring three dogs but one of our dogs passed away before the date of our reservation. I notified the host right away and asked for a refund for the 75.00. She said we will discuss at arrival, so I thought that was fine, so she could see that we only had two dogs. She said nothing about it, so I let it go. Then when we left, I accidentally took a small dog bowl home that belonged to her thinking it was one of ours. So I texted and apologized and asked if she could take the cost of the bowl off the 75.00. She just said don't worry about the bowl and never said anything about the 75.00. So 75.00 doesn't break us, but I thought it would be kind of her to refund the money because our dog had died before our arrival and I notified her immediately. Maybe there was a deadline for refund at that point, I'm not sure but it would have been nice for her to tell us that. So, the place and location is very nice, but I didn't feel that was good customer service and I was disappointed about that.
Best pet friendly rental one could imagine. Very well appointed accommodations and a very well fenced in acre for the dogs, as advertised. Quiet setting, very private, easy access to everything in the Cape May area. A big winner!!!
The property was absolutely gorgeous and close to everything, sooo clean and decorating was beautifully done!! kelly the owner is the nicest person, we enjoyed talking to her and she was always asking if we needed anything and if all was ok! We will definitely book again next april!!
The property is better than advertised and you can tell that there was a lot of time and love put into it. Kelley is an amazing host making sure that we were comfortable during our stay. We plan and coming back
Beautiful place, relaxing atmosphere- luckily they werenât booked Sunday Monday so we extended our stay. Extremely happy. Extending the stay seemed difficult- host was great , just hard with VRBO. Host was helpful throughout the entire process and extremely nice .
This is a great place. Clean, comfortable and tasteful. Quiet but close enough to the heart of Cape May. Hosts are very accomodating and friendly. Highly recommend.
Just had a wonderful stay. The host is totally delightful and the unit is laid out so conveniently. We had a calm, snuggly, cozy time just chilling. Hope to go back soon.
Great place. Even in November there are plenty of things to do in Cape May. The house was immaculately clean, and the yard is literally the size of a football field. We had a great time, and would highly recommend it to all.
Iâd never been to Cape May but it wonât be my last time. Kelleyâs cottage is wonderful with an awesome backyard for the kids and dogs. We even brought a popup canopy with a tent and a projector to watch movies outside. Two thumbs up!
The home was very well appointed. Clean and great location. We were very close to everything. It was the first time for me travelling with my dog. He is older and large but he was very comfortable. The stairs were his only issue, so maybe people should be aware of the steps issue if bringing an older dog. Otherwise, everything was awesome đ
Charming, quiet, pretty and spotless cabin with a pool and a huge lawn, just perfect to get a restful break while enjoying Cape May attractions and village activity with a free parking space in town! Kelley is the best and makes you feel welcome and comfortable.
Extremely clean and comfortable, nicely decorated, great location, amazing fenced in yard for the pup, helpful and attentive owner. Will definitely return.
I am from Phillipsburg, NJ but I met my wife, a Florida girl, while residing down there. A business opportunity brought us back to my hometown. I knew my wife missed the sunshine and sea air so I took her on an anniversary trip to Cape May in the middle of May many years ago. She fell in love with the area and we have faithfully returned ever since. About five years ago we decided to take our Frenchie with us on our vacations and I found the Captain's Sea Cabin online. When we arrived at the property my wife fell in love with it. She patiently pursued Capt. Frank and Betty with the possibility of owning it and now it is hers'. She is very excited to be the Florida girl who would rather live in Cape May, NJ. The legacy, of Capt. Frank and Betty, one of graciousness and hospitality is what we hope to be able to live up to. I am the president of Ferguson Containers in Phillipsburg, NJ and Kelley is the manager of the property. Our disabled daughter, Autumn , with her Shih Tzu, Odie, our PUG, Mei Mei, and our old cat, Patsy, are also residents at our Cape May home.
It is a short bicycle ride to the downtown shops and beach. It is a shorter drive to pet friendly Higbee Beach, Cape May winery and Cape May National golf course.
The beauty of this area captured our hearts so much that we had to have a home there to enjoy it more often than just a vacation. Please come and enjoy it with us.
