Transport yourself back in time and immerse in the rich history of St. Augustine while savoring modern comforts at our captivating 3-story Queen Anne vacation rental, nestled just behind the majestic 1 bedroom Grand Oak at 28 Saragossa St. As the oldest home on the street, this architectural gem, originally built in 1891 by the renowned Birds Eye View Artist Henry J Ritchie, boasts 50 windows and 25 rooms, making it a true historical treasure. But don't be fooled by its age – after a meticulous 1.5-year renovation, The Palm Paradise now offers a delightful fusion of old-world charm and contemporary luxury, creating the perfect backdrop for an unforgettable stay that seamlessly blends history and beachside relaxation. At The Palm Paradise, we take immense pride in offering an exceptional indoor and outdoor experience, transcending the conventional hotel space to provide you with a genuine home away from home. Upon entering, you'll be enchanted by the hardwood floors and the abundant natural light streaming through the tall coffered ceilings in the Great Room. Our 1-bedroom haven, ingeniously designed, easily accommodates two couples or a family with children, with the leather sleeper sofa and additional stack stools at your disposal. The fully renovated kitchen, once the Boiler Room of the home, now stands as a showpiece, featuring a tall paneled ceiling, marble countertops, stacked shaker cabinets with glass doors and an antique cast iron sink with a drainboard which evokes a sense of history and nostalgia. The black slate floors, each piece a unique work of art, add an elegant touch to the space. The large bedroom, graced with a California King bed and antique drop-front desk, creates a perfect relaxation or "Work from Home" space. The floor-to-ceiling subway tile bath, 10' shower curtain, and black surface-mount shower further transport you back in time, providing a truly immersive experience.

But it doesn't end there. Step into the enchanting backyard, where salvaged old bricks have been artfully repurposed to create a fenced viewing patio for the majestic Giant Palm, the inspiration for our home's name. Enjoy a delightful outdoor dining space for four, complete with a grill offering both gas and charcoal options, surrounded by plants and the sweet songs of birds Whether it's a tranquil morning coffee or a delightful sunset dinner, the backyard offers a serene oasis for relaxation.

And let's talk about our prime location – we truly embody the "Best of Both Worlds." Just a quarter-mile stroll from the heart of Historic Downtown, you'll be engulfed in vibrant tourist attractions and an array of delectable dining options. Additionally, we are strategically located just a few miles from not one, but two beautiful beaches – Vilano Beach, a mere 3 miles to the north, and St. Augustine Beach, 5 miles to the south, both boasting ample parking and incredible dining establishments nearby. Quaint Weekend Getaway

If you’re looking for a place to crash while in Saint Augustine, look no more. 10 minute walk Flagler College and other main attractions. The home was depicted accurately in the listing. It was quiet and in a residential area. Lovely.

Location location location

The rental house was ideal in that it was a short walk to almost everywhere we wanted to go. We did not spend much time in the house but it was clean, comfortable and had everything we needed. It was also in a nice & safe neighborhood.

Perfect unit for my wife and I. Tastefully updated with modern features that fit the feel of this historic house. Had everything we needed. Very comfortable and clean. Location is fantastic. My wife and I stayed here for three nights for a weekend getaway and from the moment we walked in we loved everything about it. With all new appliances and very clean and comfortable, it was perfect for us. Conveniently located within walking distance to everything. Couple’s Getaway

Palm Paradise was the perfect place for our short stay. Very clean, great size, walking distance to downtown, quiet. I stayed with my mom and my daughter but would love to go back for a couple’s weekend.

Short Getaway to St. A

Palm Paradise was such a cute apt to stay in short easy walk to George street literally 5 min on an adorable street. This Apt is in a beautiful historic home built in the 1800's. The space was updated and modern with a historic feel. We were very comfortable there! The space is well furnished and kitchen was nice with nice Keurig and regular coffee makers just make sure to bring your own coffee and creamer. Bed was comfy and unit was in the back of the home very private and quite. Linda was great at communicating and we would definitely stay here again and recommend it to our friends.

My name is Linda Bayles. I have been a Realtor in the Jacksonville/St Augustine area ranking in the Top 1% of Agents since 1998. In 2005 I walked into a 1926 beach cottage direct oceanfront on St Augustine Beach and knew I had found my calling. I wanted to 'Create' a vacation space for Families. Large extended families. A place were Cousins, Grandmothers, Uncles and Aunts can comfortably come together to reconnect and enjoy each other away from the demands of the outside world. I come from a large family of 5 children as does my husband, Brad. Some of my fondest memories are when we all got together to just 'hang out' for 3 or 4 days. The little ones always come up with a 'play'. The adults always congregate in the Kitchen passing down the 'Family Recipes' to the next generation and playing Games. We are a big Game playing family. Specifically Rummikub. We start them at 5 and My Mother is still going at 95. If you have never played, you must. I make sure there is one in each house. Once you are hooked and have one of your own, I hope you will think of your St Augustine stay every time you play.

So I bought that 1926 Craftsman, gutted it and turned it into The Chautauqua which sleeps 21. It has been a rewarding success. In 2011, my Father expanded the tradition and bought 4 homes on one Oceanfront compound on 9th Street. We could not believe our luck and spent the next year remodeling them into The Seaside Cottages. We started renting them in June of 2012. The Best part is not only the homes but the BEACH. There are only 18 streets on the “Best Beach” - No cars. No Catwalk. The ocean right at your door. Everything within walking distance.

In 2016 I moved to Downtown St Augustine and added 4 more Downtown Homes walking distance of St George Street, the Center of Historic Downtown and all the Restaurants, Sights and Music. It is absolutely charming at night. You will feel you are strolling an old European City. A must see

And now I have moved to this glorious 1891 3 story Queen Victorian. I have spent well over 1.5 years renovating it. I will be living in 2 of the units and invite you to come share one of the other 2. I have also started renting my 1st Downtown home called the Lemon Street Retreat. That along with the Lemon Guesthouse in back can accomodate up to 20 Guests. Great for Weddings and Family Reuntions. I hope you will stay with us in one of my 12 creations and create memories you will cherish for a lifetime.

PS: I am also a Realtor. I work primarily as a Single Agent. There are not many of us out there. Most Realtors work as neutral Transaction Agents. You can google 'Buyers Agent' to get an overview of the difference. I think it is big. Just ask yourself the question, Would I want the other sides Attorney to represent me too? That's it in a nut shell but the amazing thing is, unlike Attorneys, it does not cost you anything to have your OWN Realtor representing just YOUR interest. We are all paid by the Seller. So .... I would love to help if you are thinking about buying or selling in the area. Just call and I will send photos of what's available.
