Beaucoup de TLC est donné à ce charmant deux chambres, une salle de bain située au niveau inférieur de ce triplex victorien - une location de vacances idéale pour un couple ou une petite famille. Profitez de la vue partielle sur l'océan de la véranda, ce qui est excellent pour se prélasser autour ou barbecue. Les chambres comprennent un lit queen dans la chambre principale, lits simples superposés de taille dans la deuxième chambre, ainsi que d'un lit simple dans la salle familiale. Il dispose également d'un téléviseur à écran plat de 32 pouces avec satellite, lecteur DVD, magnétoscope et cuisine entièrement équipée. Cute, older property. Beds were a little run down. The worst issue was the ants. On the 2nd night the ants covered the bottom bunk making it impossible for my daughter to sleep there. There were ants in the restroom and the kitchen as well.

I only have one complaint about our stay in this place,the twin bed in the main entrance has a mattress that needs to be replaced immediately one cant really sleep in it without falling off,safer sleeping on the floor,which shouldnt be the case cause were paying to sleep on a bed not the floor.

Negatives: The house was dated. The screens were falling off. There were ants on in the kitchen. Toilet slow to flush No place to park our e-bikes safely. (the first night, we had to lug our bikes up the stairs to be sure they were safe). Positives: Close to our planned activities. cheaper then most rentals the patio was nice location perfect, next to Vons easy check in & check out

Fabulous

Small but adequate bathroom. Older building so neighbors were a little noisy but tolerable. Beds comfortable. Good bargain per person considering it was Avalon. Beautiful view. Such a fun trip.

Loved it!

Only have one complaint! True that it was only 2 blocks to the beach but it was up hill! This 78 year old had problems making that climb! Never the less we had a great time and the accommodations were very nice, especially being able to sit on the patio and watch the world go by! So relaxing!

The property was small but fit our family perfectly. For the price I would have thought the place would have been more kept up. It was very outdated with bedroom furniture that was broken and dirty. The bedroom mirror looked disgusting and we couldn’t even use it to get ready because it was so dirty. TV never worked and neither did the Wi-Fi.

Filthy place

It was tiny old unit as advertised, but that doesn’t mean it has to be filthy. We were very disappointed with the cleanliness of the place. If we walked around in bare feet, they turned black instantly. There were used underwear in the closet that my kids found. The shower is disgusting and finicky. It’s also a long uphill walk not ideal for small kids. The price was still too high for the quality in my opinion. Management was very responsive and nice via text. I don’t think I could stay here again though.

Lovely little house, would stay again but hope for more TLC.

I feel a partial rebuttal is necessary regarding some prior reviews. We had a great stay. The location is ideal. The house is super historic and is an artifact from the original development of the island as a vacation spot well before Wrigley bought it. If you are not into old houses and their quirks, there’s plenty of bland, boring condominiums in Avalon you’ll be happy in. This place has beautiful doors and original windows, built-in cabinets and woodwork all of which we loved and would never want to see changed. It’s reasonably priced, compared to some other similar historic/original Avalon cottages we’ve stayed in, however we expect a higher level of maintenance and cleanliness, especially from a vacation rental company which presumably has the resources to do so. As mentioned in another review, our feet turned black from walking barefoot on the floor - maybe this was just the newer Pergo floor giving up its color, or maybe it wasn’t mopped. Several light bulbs were burned out or missing. The toilet however works fine if you’re patient. There was just a little touch of dinginess that could be resolved with a small amount of time spent sprucing up. And it’s a shame really because it’s such a cool house. The beds were all very comfortable. We really liked the daybed in the kitchen/dining/living room as a place to lay out and look out the front windows at the bay, and enjoyed coffee on the deck every morning. Will stay again in hopes of improvement!

Needs Work, Made Vacation Less Enjoyable

My comments are to give a picture to the owners from the visitor's perspective and to give families looking to stay here an honest review. The current pictures of the rental are not up to date. When you walk in the door there is a combination kitchen/family room/bedroom. There is a daybed and tv in the kitchen. After a long day of fun and adventure you may want to come back to the rental to enjoy some quiet time with your family but there is no place to do that. The television doesn't work (even when following the two sets of instructions), and there is nowhere for anyone to sit comfortably. There is a large gap underneath the front door where slugs get into the rental which we found crawling along the kitchen floor at various times during our stay. The weather was very warm and the rental does not have air conditioning. It would have been nice to open the windows to let some cool air in but there are no screens on the windows. We had no choice but to open them anyway because of how hot it was even with the fan on and large flies flew in. In the bunk bed room there are no shades or drapery on the windows. They are block out windows so you cannot see in but the light comes in very early in the morning and the neighbor keeps their side light on all night which is right in line with the window above the top bunk. The toilet bowl brush is absolutely disgusting, the toilet backflows and the hot water faucet is difficult to turn off. There's more, but I think you get the picture.

No habia campana extractora y se disparaba la alarma cada vez que cocinabamos, la alfomdra estaba manchada, el ventilador de techo rechinaba y la casa por afuera parecia estar en reparación por lo demas la pasamos bien.

Great location, walking distance to everything, from the ferry to all restaurants and places of interest. There is a Vons in a walking distance too in any case you forget an item.

Great Property

The contract and after hours check in process was a bit cumbersome. Some things weren’t clear so I had to ask several questions. The property manager was very responsive to my questions, but I may suggest making the process a little more clear.
