We are located in Richmond, 10 minutes from YVR airport.7 minutes drive to Richmond Centre. Cantrell House provided accommodation with a shared lounge and free parking.

Overall the room we stayed with it was clean. But the main floor, the stairs and all over is messy, carpet is dirty. Whole house is full of the smell of cooking fumes.

*BUYER BEWARE* This was my most uncomfortable stay ever. The house was hot and humid upon entering. The A/C was not on despite my room being 80 degrees F / 27 degrees C. I was horrified there was no fan in the room. The "bed" was SO hard I literally checked to see if it was indeed a "mattress" and not a massage table. I slept very poorly and left at first light. The only good thing about this stay was that the water pressure in the shower was very good. Still, one thin bath towel and one hand towel were not enough. No bath mat? No washcloth? And no extras in the room. This was perhaps the most appalling -- the ceiling vent in the bathroom is CAKED with nasty dust and mold. This is a huge health hazard! I have asthma, but even if I didn't, it's a major red flag. Obviously the homeowners do not take care of this property. I took several pictures of this as well as enormous dust bunnies / cobwebs hanging in the corners of the bedroom. Gross. The home reeked of animal smells (dog/cat). There was terrible clutter everywhere. Shoes were a tripping hazard. When I exited the room in the morning, I was greeted by an ENORMOUS, furry, poorly groomed dog. They don't even warn guests that they have a large dog, let alone secure the dog at night. There is so much more I could say about the poor cleanliness. No mattress case or cover. No cover on the pillows. The pillowcases were too small for the pillows. I came down with COVID shortly after this stay. I repeat: DO NOT STAY HERE.
Ceiling vent in bathroom - caked in dust and allergens. Obviously the air filter has never been changed. HUGE health hazard.
Major health hazard esp. for people like me with allergies and asthma. Obvious neglect on the part of the hosts.
Dust bunnies / cobwebs in every corner of the bedroom.

Basic clean room in a very large home. Obviously an active home with children. Room could have used a bedside lamp, bedside clock, more pillows (were only two), and wash cloths besides the towels that were provided. Room is on second floor with two flights of stairs. We arrived later in the evening and the owner met us at the door but had been given a code to access the home.

Not a clean home

I couldnt get into home once arrived, they finally let me in no way of know where my room was or internet so i let and came back later , room was clean and bathroom, the rest of the home and kitchen and appliances very diry

The property was very dirty. Its advertised as full use of the house but that is not true. The family is always around and their young son was in the room beside us. Its advertised to have a hot tub but that is not true, there is just a bathroom with a tub in the bedroom.

The house was really nice and pretty! Though I was a little confused with the check-in process... we were provided a code to enter, but I wasn't sure where the keypad was. My roommate and I had to ring the doorbell to get in. I also assumed that we'd be having the whole house (at least from the description) but I think you have the specifically request the entire house. Which makes sense because the house is really really big. The guest rooms are upstairs. They're clean, but they have remnants of the people who lived there, such as books, plushies, etc. (At least the room we stayed in.) Nonetheless, very clean and the bed is very comfortable! The bathroom is clean as well. I do kind of like the plushies on the shelves, it makes it feel more like home. The walls are a little thin, so you can hear people in the hall and the occasional piano playing downstairs.

Avoid this property

The property and the room stayed was untidy and not clean. The host did not make an effort to provide a nice and clean room for guests. The past good reviews may not be genuine and Stayz should not give this host a high rating. Anyone looking for a B&B in Richmond should avoid staying at this property.

I opened the door and a big dog was standing in front of me. Thanks god I‘m not afraid of dogs. The entrance was one big mess. Shoes and toys and also some garbage all around. The owner showed me my room and was very friendly. The room was clean and the bathroom was nice. The bed was the worst I‘ve ever slept in. It was hard like a rock. The whole house looked like a messy home. Nothing was clean, neither the living room nor the dining room/kitchen. The pictures looked so much better on the internet. I only spent a night there. If I booked more nights I would not have stayed there.

We stayed for two nights. Our room and bathroom were good and the host was friendly . The property advertises a shared kitchen is available but we didn’t feel comfortable using the kitchen with the family that lives there.

Please be aware: This is a family's home. It doesn't say that in the listing and if I had known, I wouldn't have booked it. There were supposedly shared areas like a lounge and kitchen but it felt awkward to use them. Also, in the main areas of the house, there was clutter everywhere. At almost ten at night, a child was practicing keyboard (loudly), doing the same song over and over. The bedroom itself was clean and tidy but overall, I found it to be an uncomfortable experience. It was also quite expensive for what you get.

Great location, conveniently located close to the airport. The bed was very comfortable, and the private shower was stocked with all the necessities. The host communicated well. The only minus for me was that the place was on a messy side.

Quiet overnight stop 10 mins from airport

Very handy for airport. Quiet residential area. Shops & food 10 mins walk away. David let us check in early & kindly put my ice pack (for medication) in family freezer. This is a room in a family home, but family respectful of our privacy.
