We had a fabulous time at this cabin in the woods! They had a pac n play for our little one (SO nice to not check an extra heavy bag). About 20 minutes to the gate which was nice and love the fire pit and playground equipment.
We loved the remote location and closeness to Glacier National Park. It rained two of the days we were here but really glad we went to the park then. LESS PEOPLE! The hosts were just a message away and very responsive. We had no issues and everything was labeled clearly. This was the cleanest VRBO weâve stayed in! I also loved no tv!!!!! Thank you for having us!
My husband, son, and I really enjoyed our stay. It was such a great way for us to unplug and spend time together. Loved how close we were to Glacier and that we got to experience its beauty! The home was well equipped with everything we needed and was very comfortable. Will stay here again in a heartbeat!
Everything you need in the middle of the mountains!
It was the absolute perfect place for our family to stay while adventuring in glacier. The deck and yard were so great!! Clean, and hosts were easy to message and were great!
We stayed at Solitude Cabin July 27-Aug 3, 2024 for our family vacation to Glacier. Everything about this place was great! The cabin itself was beautiful, super clean and well kept! It has everything you need for you stay and more. Plenty of games to play with the kids. Strong wifi if you need it. A nice bluetooth sound system to play some music. They have all the appliances and utensils you need to cook your meals and the appliances are all nice higher end ones. The deck is awesome for relaxing after a long day of hiking in Glacier.
The location was perfect for us. There are neighbors but you would never know it if you didn't drive by them on the way in. It is at the end of the road. You can't see another house from the cabin. All you can see is the forest and mountains. Amazing! The description says 20 minutes to Glacier and that is spot on and the drive to get there is beautiful. About 15 minutes to Columbia Falls. The owner is great at communicating and answering any questions you might have. Highly recommend this property for anyone looking to head to the mountains and get away from it all!
We picked a house largely on how quick we could get to the park in the morning. This was very close, we were in the park within about 15 minutes. This was key in allowing us to get to our hikes around 6:30/7:00am to avoid fighting for parking. We then loved coming back to this secluded house to enjoy a relaxing afternoon. My kids loved the playground, kids bike, and balls on the deck. The house had a TON of kids toys inside too. To a parent this was heavenly as they were able to entertain themselves. You definitely get the authentic Montana feel out here with lots of space from neighbors. We saw quite a few deer in the yard on our last morning. The grill on the deck was perfect for dinner. Having two bathrooms was also nice for our group. The only recommendation I'd make (super minor) is a regular toaster, we didn't find the toaster oven to work too well, but we're also just not used to them. Again, super minor as we found this house amazing and would stay again in a heartbeat!
My husband and I stayed at this cabin for 7 nights. Everything was as pictured and described, we had what we needed, Richard was communicative and we had no issues. This home is convenient to accessing both the park and town. Visiting with the neighborâs friendly horses in the backyard was a pleasant perk! This home is on a short street spread out amongst a small handful of other cabins and it was very quiet and peaceful and felt very remote. It was also very close to a boat ramp for easy access to fishing the nearby river. Having a washer and dryer to do laundry mid-week was a big plus. The Check-in and check-out process was super simple.
I will call out a few things that would improve the guest experience.
The pots and pans are not non-stick and the cooking utensils could be of better variety/quality. We cooked most of our meals so this was disappointing. There is also no lounging space in this cabin. Half of the living room is set up for small children to play. The only adult furniture is a single leather recliner and a hard folding futon. This may not matter for someone staying just a couple nights. But for a longer stay, having a big comfy sofa to relax on would have been much more inviting. This was really the only major complaint we had. Many of the rooms and closets in the home are locked, which felt a little off-putting given that you are paying to rent the full home.
I hope this feedback is helpful for the host and for the next guest!
The cabin was perfect for our family of 5. It was 20 minutes to Glacier which we visited every day. Felt remote, but only 15 minutes to Columbia Falls for restaurants and shopping. It was quiet and clean and the owners were super easy to communicate with and ask questions. Highly recommend!
Very clean, great firepit, lots of toys for kids, very cute bath tub with surprisingly good water pressure, and overall a lovely stay. Highly recommend this place.
The property was just as described. We arrived after dark so it was a little tricky to find but we did drive right to it. It is perfect for 2 couples who are wanting to explore the park. The fact there was no air conditioner was not a problem as it was cool enough at night to sleep and keep the place cool. Close enough to groceries and restaurants. We highly recommend this place.
Our family of four loved our stay at this lovely woodland retreat. Communication with the host was terrific . It was wonderful to view the tall pines and the moon while listening to the call of a screech owl in the evenings . So many different birds! A family of turkeys appeared to say good bye on our final morning. The cabin is very convenient to the west side of Glacier National Park and is a peaceful retreat. We woud love to return! The road to the cabin is bumpy so take your time .
Very close to Glacier, nice and secluded property. Owner very responsive to questions and ensured our stay was fabulous. Looking forward to another visit in the future, next time early Fall.
Our family (two adults and two kids, ages 9 and 11) found this house to be perfect for us. It was clean, exactly as advertised, and very close to Glacier National Park. We had a great time, and our only regret was that we didn't stay longer.
Our family couldnât have enjoyed our stay more! It was the perfect location for our trip - a remote home base close to Glacier as well as area attractions. The home is well cared for with great wifi and even better mountain views from the deck! Thank you for your great hospitality!
My name is Richard Owens and I work for the U.S. Forest Service. During the summer, my family and I move to a remote backcountry ranger station for my job, leaving this beautiful house empty for several months. We love to see others love the house and surrounding lands as much as we do. During our summer absence, the rental is managed by our long time friend and property manager.
We can offer unparalleled end-of-the-road peace and quiet only 20 minutes from Glacier Park. Wild turkeys, deer, elk, coyotes and many other birds and animals frequent our 5-acre "yard".
Our yard features a beautifully designed play space for children with a sandbox, wood chip area, lawn, swings and bike path for a complete outdoor play experience without even leaving the grounds. You'll be surrounded by stunning mountain views as you watch your children play or sip coffee on the deck.
