Property was great. The kids loved it. I wish it had an adult bed in the bunk house. But still a great house.

Beautiful property, there were a few maintenance issues when we got there, but the maintenance team was super responsive and resolved things very quickly! Home was well stocked and well taken care of, perfect for our group size too!

What a beautiful place! The pictures on the website but don't do the home and grounds justice. Amazing house-huge and fit our extended family of 12 easily. A wonderful kitchen for cooking meals together. There was a maintenance issue, but the team responded so quickly and had it fixed.Just about 10 minutes into Highlands for special dinners. Easy drives to wonderful hikes and waterfalls. The grandkids were outside much of the day playing baseball on the huge grounds, exploring the pond and woods, and finding the Spirit tree! The house had all the amenities and amazing indoor/outdoor areas. Can't say enough-hope to be back!

It sounds like the perfect extended family getaway with all 12 of you cooking together in the kitchen, heading into Highlands for special dinners, and exploring the waterfalls and hiking trails nearby. And the grandkids — baseball on the grounds, the pond, the woods, and finding the Spirit tree! There is something so magical about watching children discover everything the property has to offer and we love knowing they were outside adventuring all day long. Beautiful home in the mountains!

We had a wonderful weekend here! The house was in immaculate condition, the view was amazing, and the beds were extremely comfortable! The house is just a short ride into downtown Highlands so very convenient in terms of location. I would absolutely stay here again!

Beautiful Comfortable House, Inside and Out

Our extended family of 5 adults and 6 kids/teens had a wonderful time staying at Shortoff Mountain View. The house was so nice inside and out, thoughtfully and comfortably appointed and decorated. I would definitely stay there again. We absolutely loved exploring the property, finding the Spirit Tree and feeding the fish. It was the perfect place in every way to make memories as a family. It was also really nice being so close to Highlands.

Wonderful long weekend in Highlands

The pictures do not do this property justice. The house was spectacular, and the setting was really special. Our boys loved fishing in the private pond each day. House location was extremely convenient, situated between highlands and Cashiers. This is our fourth year in a row renting in the area and this trip superseded the rest. We enjoyed it so much we have already booked for next year!

Wonderful week in Highlands!

My extended family gets together in the NC mountains every summer and this year was in Highlands. The home was beautiful, just as advertised and had plenty of space for us to spread out but wonderful spaces where we could be together. Our favorite parts of the home were the kitchen, the screened in porch with folding doors, the adorable trout pond and the serene surroundings. Would definitely return to this property if back in Highlands.

Just Breathe

Amazing property and home. The view was stunning and the house was well stocked and beautifully decorated. The property manager took great care of us when we ran into issues. (No heat- the gas company was prompt as the freezing weather depleted the tanks sooner than the scheduled refill). The house thankfully had areas that ran on electricity as well so we could stay warm until the issue was resolved. This was promptly taken care of by Alicen. It was a fabulous girls getaway and the home is close to downtown Highlands if you want to venture out. All the girls said they would come back to this property in an instant.

Shortoff Mountain

this was a beautiful house with a wonderful setting and view. It was a short drive down a gravel road but it never rained that much so the drive was ok. The trout pond was nice for the kids and the accomadations were top notch! The only inconvienence was that fact that we couldn't use the firewood that was on sight. We went to the grocery store and bought some wood of our own. We didn't use much. If this rental could be any better is would be to let renters use the available firewood. It would make easier and this is a small added feature that would match the awesomess of this house. Overall it was great!

Thanks for the review Scott! We're so sorry you were unconvinced by having to purchase firewood from the store. We do make firewood available for purchase that is delivered right to the home so next time just let us know and we'd be happy to have some there upon your arrival.
