This classic mountain home is nestled in the trees on a beautiful 5+ acre property in the gated community of Old Timberline. Enjoy peace and quiet, inside, and out. Kids will love all the places and spaces to explore. Adults will love the sights and sounds of nature complete with by a small babbling brook. Enjoy a fully equipped kitchen with plenty of room to dine, both inside and out. Cedar Dome offers the comfort of air conditioning along with the convenience of walk-in showers! Enjoy starry nights in the outdoor hot tub or relax inside by a cozy fire. Kids will quickly designate the comfy sleeping loft as their incredibly special place. Cedar Dome provides the perfect location for mountain bikers, trail hikers, skiers, hunters and more. It is a short drive to Timberline Mountain, Canaan Resort, Blackwater Falls, the Canaan Valley National Wildlife Refuge, and more. Winter visitors must have all or four-wheel drive vehicles with winter tires or chains.

Great Ski Cabin

Clean, convenient to the slopes, private, spacious, ski-chalet vibe, firm mattresses, working hot tub. We (4 adults, 3 teens, 1 toddler) thoroughly enjoyed our stay and extend our thanks to the owners and manager.

Great location for winter activities. House was a bit dirty but it seemed it hadn’t been used in a while. Nothing to bad. Would definitely stay again.

Snowboard/Ski Trip

We enjoyed our stay at your home. The house was close to Timberline lodge and slopes where we spent most of our time. Cleaning crew needs to focus on working a little harder with floors and trash under beds. We found empty cans and tissues under beds and the kitchen floor was sticky and felt dirty. Unfortunately we were not able to use the hot tub as it would not get warm, but we didn't realize it until after hours to be able to call for assistance. Spacious and beautiful scenery.

Hill side cabin

House very nice and attractive, it is comfortable to stay in. It is secluded and private. Only few cabins are in view but only at a distance, we could only see them because the leafs were still off. Driveway is a bit steep with a bit of a challenging turn in to start, then a straight moderate uphill climb to the house. My all wheel drive, mid size SUV was adequate. There is room for two cars to park near the house with a 90 degree turn around. I would recommend this house and would like to stay there again.

Needs checked prior to check-ins

Nice house in great location, but there were spiders, dead bugs and cobwebs everywhere inside the house, particularly in the bathrooms which is one of the 2 areas that definitely should be cleaned or at least checked prior to renters checking in. Also the air upstairs wasn’t working well and after 1/2 of night 1 we ended up sleeping downstairs on the couches which wasn’t a great option, but made it work. I just feel for the cost that it should have at the least been checked for cleanliness prior to arrival.

Good location, poor accessibility

Rating Details: The property manager was adequately helpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was very unhappy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Overall the cabin accomplished its goal. We were close to skiing and had warm beds to sleep it. The furniture is quite dated. The appliances all worked except we could not figure out how to get the hot tub heated and started (very poor instructions and we are unfamiliar with hot tub controls). Our biggest complaint was the accessibility and safety. The outside stairs into the home (not pictured) are long and have triangular stairs as does the main staircase in the home. One of our party struggles with stability fell down the inside stairs twice (very poor excuse for hand rails and again turns 180 degrees and has triangular stairs). Luckily, she was not seriously hurt but we cut our vacation short two days and went home out of fear that something worse would happen. I alerted the best of Canaan staff of the falls and our early departure, told sorry and never heard from them again to check on our party member who fell twice on their poorly designed property. So is life I guess.

Secluded cabin in the woods

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The house was in a great location. Secluded but still close to the entrance to timberline. The house was stocked with all the essentials we needed and the hot tub was great. The lawn/property is very muddy, even with dryer weather. If bringing dogs make sure you have something to wipe their feet. They were starting to do some updates to the house, but it could use a few more. The house could have used a good deep cleaning to get rid of some of the lingering dust. But the linens, towels, and dishes and overall house were clean. It was a great house to stay in!
