Hi Tim, Thank you so much for the thoughtful review and kind words! I’m really glad you and your group enjoyed your time at the cottage, especially the kayaks, dock, and the screen room with the pool table. I also appreciate your note about the path—it’s a short walk down the slope to the water, and your description will definitely help other guests know what to expect. You were a fantastic guest—great communication and left the place very clean, which I truly appreciate. You’re welcome back anytime! Best regards, Newton

Hi George, Thank you for your feedback. I’m genuinely sorry to hear that your experience didn’t meet your expectations, though I must clarify that many of the issues mentioned in your review don’t reflect the condition of the property during or prior to your stay. All the items, including the pans, utensils, and beds, were recently purchased and inspected before your arrival. The screens were intact and secure when the property was cleaned, and no prior or recent guests reported issues with them. The oven is cleaned regularly, and we’ve never had a situation involving smoke or health concerns—especially anything as severe as described. As for the pool table, cues and chalk were available and in place at the start of your stay, and we always do our best to keep all equipment in good condition. Regarding the listing, the photos accurately represent the space, including the bedrooms and bathrooms, and we’re always happy to provide clarification or extra images upon request. While I understand that every guest experience is unique, I do take pride in maintaining a clean, safe, and well-equipped space for every stay. I’m always open to genuine concerns and feedback, but I also believe it’s important to address misinformation for the sake of future guests. Wishing you all the best, Newton

Hi Richard, Thank you for the thoughtful and detailed review. I really appreciate you taking the time to share both the highlights and the areas where we could improve. Since your stay, we’ve addressed the points you brought up—especially the small comfort upgrades and clearer coordination on linens. We’ve also added detailed instructions for using the TV and streaming options, so future guests won’t miss any important games or events. I’m glad you and the group enjoyed the space, the decks, and the overall vibe of the property. It was a pleasure hosting your annual getaway, and thanks to your helpful feedback, we’ve brought everything up to that full 5-star level for future visits. You’re always welcome back—and hopefully next time, there’ll be playoff wins and working TV! All the best, Newton

Hi Janet, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. I’m sorry to hear your experience didn’t meet expectations, especially as I know you were looking forward to your stay. Since your last visit, we’ve made many improvements to the cottage, including addressing several of the items you mentioned. The construction is now fully complete, and we’ve even added new features based on your past recommendations—like the grab bar in the main floor tub. We’ve also removed the plastic from the mattresses, added lighting for reading, and made changes to improve comfort overall. We always strive to make the cottage safe and welcoming for guests of all ages, and your comment about the entrance steps and dock access is appreciated—we’re actively reviewing options to enhance both areas. I do want to clarify that we clearly note in the listing that guests should bring their own blankets, and we remain available throughout the stay to assist with any issues like the TV or questions about amenities. While I understand your stay wasn’t what you had hoped, I do believe a 1-star review doesn’t reflect the full effort we’ve made to improve the space or the overall experience that many guests enjoy. That said, I genuinely appreciate your detailed feedback and wish you all the best. Kind regards, Newton
