We had a really relaxing time here; sitting by the fire, using the hot tub, going for nature walks, and the beach is just down the road. The place had nearly everything we needed (if you want to cook steaks or something that involves cutting up, we recommend bringing some steak knives). There were also so many birds, chipmunks, and squirrels to see, and we also made a racoon friend that joined us by the fire for a brief moment!
We really enjoyed our stay, property was very nice! Close to beach and great site for day trips in the area. Would love to stay there again sometimeâŠ
We loved our stay at Casa Escondida. The place is great, it has all the appliances and it's well equipped. The bed, as mentioned in other reviews is a bit small if you're a tall person, but it is accurate to what the listing says.To make it better, I would just suggest some curtains in the bedroom, so it's not super bright in the morning, but that was not detrimental to us. We used the Jacuzzi, the barbecue grill, the oven, and everything was clean and fully functional. The location is great. The neighborhood is very quiet, but you can easily walk to more busy areas, if that's you like. It's also very close to parks, trails and different beaches. We hit Turkey Point beach and also Long Point (our personal favourite). Check-in/check-out was the easiest I've experienced. We recommend and will be coming back!
We had a great time in Turkey point. The location was amazing. Our host was responsive and we had everything we needed. The tiny home was perfect and very clean.
Absolutely Fantastic!
Was everything we were hoping for and more. The property had all the amenities advertised and the surrounding area was spectacular to explore.
We will definitely be keeping this place in mind for the future!
An amazing weekend!
We had a very good experience in â Casa Escondidaâ this place is beautiful, clean and very close to the beach and restaurants . This is the perfect place for a couple , highly recommend đ
My wife and I had a great time and had everything we needed within arms reach , the proprty was clean and Thomas was a fantastic host and responded to any inquiries we had , absolutely returning ....may even be before the month ends if theres absolutely.
Perfect little spot, so close to the beach.
We especially enjoyed the back patio and firepit. Host was friendly and helpful. Note that steps up to the loft require some agility
I had such an amazing time in this cabin. Thomas is very nice and prompt to help. I didnât see the note of bringing bedding and towels and he literally helped me out with. Such a nice guy! Everything is great, the cabin, bone fire and location, close to the lake and a pub close by. But my favourite part was the trail that starts in the backyard of the cabin and ends it in a Winery, perfect. Definitely Iâll go back for the summertime.
What a wonderful weekend and stay!! Tommy was a great host. Quick to respond when needed. The location of this cute little place is just perfect!! It was a little bit of a rainy weekend but honestly between some great places to eat, go for a drive, walk and the beach we had lots to do. At night we Netflixed and chilled with the glow of the fireplace .. but next time we will defiantly have evening fires in the great fire pit area. Great lounging area and I loved the loft for some afternoon naps and reading.
Canât wait to come back. Thanks for the great escape!!
This is a unique house, for sure! Tommy, the owner/designer really created an innovative space with lots of cool features. I like the barn door-type slabs that roll out of the way. And check out the outdoor shower with the water pipe routed through the remnant trunk of a cedar tree.
Tommy was very responsive with the few questions or concerns I had, like my not being able to figure out the Jacuzzi buttons to turn it on. All ultimately worked out with that, and it was quite relaxing at the end of the evening.
Also soothing was looking out the clerestory window in the loft bedroom as the sun slowly lit the pale trunks of the trees on the hill behind the house, with the blue jays calling to each other.
Really enjoyed my brief stay on my road trip through southern Ontario.
We really enjoyed our stay at Casa Escondida. We were in Norfolk for birding and were not disappointed with Long Point, Turkey Point or Big Creek. Just out on the back patio of the cabin, we saw/heard 12-15 bird species every morning.
The cabin is nicely equipped. The coffee maker is a Keurig so bring pods. There should be ice cubes when you arrive but if you want a lot of ice, consider bringing an extra tray. If you intend to cook - rather than doing take-out or restaurants, you might want a salad bowl. There is a modestly stocked convenience store 2 minutes away.
If you want a bonfire, there is lots of wood but little kindling.
Liked: neighborhood has a beachy feel in the front and camp in the back. The distance of walking to beach and restaurants is great so is, parking.
Did NOT like: lack of amenities, loft sleeping area too high, stairs are dangerously cool but bed was uncomfortable and no curtains so there's zero privacy. I received no communication from owner eventhough I emailed and messaged via Whassap.
Microwave and floor were not cleaned and dish sponge was used.
The property is clearly new so i assume it will take time for improvements. For now bring bed sheets, towels, cleaning supplies and anything to be comfortable since there are no stored near by.
Born and raised in Normandale ON, a beach town located 5 minutes to the East of Turkey Point. I have been going to a popular surf town called Puerto Escondido in Mexico for the past 6 years during the winter months. I built this home to remind me of my home away from home :)
