We had a great time with family and friends. The grounds are large, clean and ideal for outdoor activities. It was fun to get there by ferry and easy to get to from Kingston!
This rental is highly recommended. The property is secluded from the other residents and offers a privacy for the vacationer and was as advertised â ârelaxing.â This location is perfect for a family and comes with some paddle boating and life preservers - supplied. Get your firewood in Marysville general store on Wolfe Island for the fire pit. There is a bakery and pizza place known locally as the âWIPPâ in Marysville. Simcoe island is historically a farming community and the island offers a rural setting. The cottage was very clean and spacious. Beds were comfortable and there are two bunk beds for the kids. The kitchen is complete with everything you need including the dishwashing soap. Water jugs are supplied by the owner. The beach is rocky and shallow for about 20-30 meters, so bring your water shoes.
There is only one ferry running from Kingston to Wolfe Island and the ferry runs approximately every 45 minutes. Peak times means you will have to wait for two ferries. The Simcoe Island ferry runs on demand and was always prompt as soon as any vehicle(s) are present.
Simcoe island is quiet and beautiful. Lots of cows, deer, and different species of birds. Wolfe island has a corner store to stock up on basic supplies (drinkable water). The ferry ride from Kingston to Wolfe island can be a long wait, 1-2 hours. The beach on the property is limestone, make sure to wear water shoes to prevent slipping. Our kids had fun in the waves, which can get quite big when itâs windy. We really enjoyed big sandy beach on Wolfe island - $60 for a family - but well worth it. Technically, the house sleeps 8. We were seven and we felt crowded: a bunk bed and three double beds. We thought the bunkie was available (as advertised) but it was not. No wifi. Bring your own DVDâs. Wear shoes, or watch wear youâre walking, in the back yard (lots of goose droppings). Overall, we really enjoyed the space and had a memorable family vacation!
