Welcome to Somnium at Bingie - a private luxury retreat where contemporary architecture, extraordinary natural beauty and complete privacy come together on the NSW South Coast.

Set across 44 acres on its own private peninsula, with approximately one kilometre of frontage to Coila Lake, Somnium is a place to slow down, reconnect and enjoy the luxury of space.

From almost every direction, the landscape becomes part of your stay. Take in sweeping views across Coila Lake towards Gulaga Mountain, over the surrounding countryside and out across the Tasman Sea towards Montague Island. Wake to birdsong, watch kangaroos move through the property, enjoy a slow morning coffee overlooking the water and end the day beneath an incredible South Coast sky.

At the heart of Somnium is the architecturally designed Main House, created for families and groups of friends to gather while still having plenty of space to retreat.

Sleeping up to 10 guests across four beautifully appointed queen bedrooms, the Main House features generous living and dining spaces, two bathrooms plus a powder room, a fully equipped kitchen and butler’s pantry, cinematic TV, hydronic heating and cooling and beautiful indoor and outdoor spaces designed to make the most of the surrounding views.

For larger groups, the separate Barn can also be booked with the Main House, increasing accommodation to a total of 14 guests. The Barn sleeps four and offers its own living area, kitchenette, bathroom, loft bedroom and balcony - perfect for extended families or friends wanting a little extra space and privacy.

Days at Somnium can be as relaxed or adventurous as you choose. Take one of our kayaks onto Coila Lake, explore on the bikes, walk nearby beaches or the beautiful Bingie Dreaming Track, or simply find your favourite place at Somnium and do very little at all.

Every detail has been considered to make your stay feel effortless, from quality cotton linen, plush towels and bathrobes to organic teas, espresso coffee and thoughtfully equipped spaces for cooking, relaxing and spending time together.

Somnium is also locally managed by Jen and Jeremy, who live just minutes away and are available to help make your stay as memorable as possible. We can share our favourite local places or assist with arranging additional experiences including private in-house dining, massages and beauty treatments, hampers and breakfast boxes, kayaking and e-bike tours, oyster farm experiences and more. If you have a special request, please ask - wherever possible, we will endeavour to make it happen.
