The Manzanita Cottages had lovely character, the property is serene. It is also walking distance, if you are walkers,to the center of Laguna. We found the location ideal.
Cottages were cute and quaint. The grounds were well maintained and felt like a little slice of Europe in the heart of Laguna. Access and proximty to all activities was great! Would stay again!
We really enjoyed our stay visiting an old friend in Laguna! It happened to be a cold, rainy weekend, but we were warm, dry and cozy in our little cottage. The small kitchen had adequate amenities for making simple meals. The one sunny afternoon we did have, we enjoyed sitting out in the yard on the Adirondack chairs and having a glass of wine. The cottages are a quaint comfortable place which we'd happily stay at again!
The Manzanita Cottages epitomize cuteness and a rustic, even fairy tale spirit. We stayed in rhe Studio, which is a perfect getaway for a romantic weekend in Laguna Beach. You can walk to most shops and restaurants (if you're willing to accept a more active walk back up the hill) including the Cliff House, an LB favorite which has a great vibe and music on the weekends. Don't miss the "secret garden" in the back of the Cottages, a lovely place to picnic or just have a quiet read surrounded by the high hedge that shelters you from the ocean breeze.
Overall, we loved this studio apartment. Close to everything. Lovely neighborhood. Delightful cottage complex. Green, beautiful plants, shrubs, trees, grass, flowers. Colorful. Felt very safe. Complex is fence enclosed with security number required to enter. Beach supplies available for free. Laundry room steps across from apartment door. Apartment was adorable, felt like home. Had everything we needed. Shopped at cute grocery store one minute away and saved tons of money by cooking and eating all our emails "at home." The price we got was better than any motel/hotel anywhere in Laguna Beach. Private parking spot. Apartment clean, housekeepers attentive, direct contact with manager if we needed him. Simple check in and check out. I only have a few recommendations, but this would stop us from coming here again, even from potentially planning to rent multiple cottages for a family visit. Keep in mind we are 70 yr.'s old so these may not be issues for others. 1. Very steep stairs leading from the front gate down to the apartment entrance. I mean WIDE and STEEP and MANY stairs. It was a bit difficult/taxing, and a little scary. There's a back gate and we didn't check to see if we could bring our bags in that way which would have been fine. Will check into this for next time. 2. The bed likely comfortable for most (my wife had no complaint) but being older it was very soft and took a wearing on my body. By the third night I was uncomfortable. Either a new firmer bed or a 3-inch Tempur-Pedic topper would solve the problem. Overall, I'm not sure we could have found a lovelier, quieter, close to everything, homier, budget friendly place to stay in downtown Laguna Beach!
I visited Laguna for Festival of Arts/Pageant of the Masters. I wanted lodging that was walking distance because parking in Laguna is a nightmare, especially on Pageant nights. This property was perfect! Literally 10 min walk to everything. Very cute studio nestled among other bungalows. Property grounds were secure and very well maintained. I would absolutely stay here again!
It was a very beautiful cabin and everything was amazing aside from the cleanliness and price I would definitely ay the estimated prize of 148 an night no problem but paying over two hundred a night definitely not worth that
The cottage is very cozy and 1920ish. The neighborhood is great because its 1 block from our daughter. We would stay again. The check in process needs a little work as we went to the wrong cottage because there were no directions where to go.
Otherwise it was great.
