Lake stay

The house is a pleasant cottage a block from the lake. I really liked that the owners had dog toys, beds, and treats. However, there were no trash bags, food in sink, dishes in the dishwasher. The only reason I am complaining about these things is because of the price. With all the fees, cleaning service, and raise in price from what was posted I paid way way way to much for two nights. Not worth it. The price listed per night is not what you’ll spend. Multiply it by 3 at least with all the hidden fees that are not realized until the bill comes in. I asked why the difference in price and they said they only list the average of a nights stay not the actual rate. This is false advertising to me but what do I know.

Good location, close to stores and restaurants. Properties had plenty of room for our family of 7. Clean, well furnished property would definitely stay at this property again.

5 Stars with an asterisk!

For us, this was a 4.5* stay. We loved the cottage, quietness of the neighborhood, convenience to many Chautauqua things to do, and of course we loved the lake itself. (Though no lake views from the cottage, just to be clear to anyone not already clear on that!) Jason is fabulous to work with, and he provided many helpful ideas, and was super responsive. A++ on that front. The listing is clear that the cottage is pet-friendly, and it's fully accurate in that way. My wife and I aren't pet owners, but we didn't think twice about that fact. However, the cottage was very clearly a pet/dog cottage. There was a fair amount of dog hair throughout furniture that took us a little by surprise. For pet owners, I'm sure that would be totally normal and not surprising in the least! So, for pet owners, I'd call this likely a A++ 5* property. For people who don't love dogs and dog hair, just be aware that's a reality here. (Or at least it was for us...perhaps it wasn't cleaned as well as normal prior to our arrival. No idea!) All in all, it was still a fabulous stay. The bed was super comfortable, and we're glad we chose this spot! Thanks, Jason!
