Creek Side Cottage with Lake Views, Lake Access, Dock and Secluded Yard
Comfortable three bedroom cottage that is ideal for a family get-away. We have a lakefront parcel and dock to accommodate boaters and easy launching of kayaks! The secluded backyard and abundance of trees is also ideal for fall colors.
Our location is also only 3.5 miles from downtown Jamestown and attractions such as the Lucille Ball museum.
The property consists of 2 homes built in the early 1900s. The back house is where we keep the kayaks, grill, fire pit and other outdoor items. Grill your meals from the back house porch while watching boats enter and exit the southern tip of Lake Chautauqua. The back house is included as part of the regular rental.
In the main house, the 2 primary bedrooms each have a queen bed, and the 3rd bedroom has a twin as well as a twin size trundle bed. All 3 bedrooms are on the second floor. The fold out couch and futon in the living room can accommodate additional guests.
The kitchen is very spacious and has plenty of counter space. And the property itself is fairly private with fencing along 2 sides and the creek bordering the other 2.
Kayak rental is also available. You can make use of our 6 available kayaks throughout the duration of your stay for a $100 fee, which can be added to the booking.
The lakefront property is basically just across the street and maybe 30 yards from the driveway. This is an ideal spot for fishing, boating, relaxing and viewing sunsets from our dock. The water depth at the dock can go down to about 27" though, so it may not be able to accomodate larger boats.
My wife and i stayed 2 nights and thiroughly enjoyed our time! We loved the cottage experience! The place was clean, comfortable and private. Having kayaks was a plus also. Wished we could have stayed longer! Host was personable and timely with communications. You won't be disappointed!
House was very clean and in a great location with easy access to Jamestown and lake. Host did a great job setting us up for a fun weekend and went out of his way to make our trip a success. If we make it back to this part of the country again we will definitely stay again.
The house is the perfect stay for a small group get together. Nice, clean, and so reasonably priced! The dock is a short walk and easy to tie up to. Erik was the best host weâve experienced and had great communication before and during our stay. Would definitely stay again! Thank you for such great hospitality!

Didn't meet expectations
I had very high hopes based on the description and photos however I have to admit I was disappointed in the condition of the property and the location. This was one of three places we stayed on a week long trip in the area and while it was priced similarly to the other properties, this did not compare. The property was essentially located in a swamp... The surrounding water was very stagnant and overgrown, nothing like the photos, the neighboring proper
We were quite disappointed when we arrived. The many pictures on the website greatly enhanced how the place really looked. It was clean and well stocked with annuities. The view from the back house porch (with great rocking chairs) was across a creek--not across the lake. You must walk a short distance to see the lake and dock. The water around the dock is totally congested with seaweed and algae. Suitable only for kayaks, not boats. The firepit was nice, with lots of firewood and firestarters, until the mosquitos arrived. Stairway to the bedrooms on the second floor was very narrow and steep--but the house is 100 years old, after all! Overall, a decent visit for four people who have been friends for over 60 years!
Had multiple issues with kitchen sink being plugged up and issue with toilet. Property after rains turns into a swamp, ended up leaving early. Be sure to take your bootsâŠ
My 3 young adult granddaughters and I drove from Indianapolis to attend the annual gathering of families whose ancestors immigrated from Greece at the Greek Club, as the locals call it. Erik did an excellent job of explaining the location. We were surprised to realize there is a second âback houseâ equipped with a game table, water sports items, a grill and a porch with nice seating. Thereâs also a firepit that we used the first night. The mosquitoes were savage, but Erik canât control that. Bring a can of YardGuard if youâre planning to spend time outside. Inside, the house was clean, cozy and well-equipped. Everything we needed was there. The dance at the Clubhouse went until 2, so I asked Erik ahead of time if we might have some leeway on checkout so that we could be rested for the 7 hour drive home. He was very gracious in allowing us a few extra hours. I appreciate how prompt he got back to me when we had a couple questions. The girls and I had a memorable weekend. Thank you again, Erik.
Weather was rough as it rained everyday, so the water and mud made things tough and the TV would not work properly with YouTube TV and the lag made it impossible to watch. Otherwise property is an excellent location e with a dock for the boat. Nice spot.
My teenage daughters and I rented this property for a couple nights to get away and relax before school starting up again. Everything was even better then described. The outdoor area with picnic table and fire pit is where we spent most of our time! Beautiful and serene!!
I spent 3 October nights with my family including two kids, age 11 and 14. The leaves were beautiful and it was a very peaceful stay. We ate most meals in the house which had everything we needed in the kitchen. Bedrooms were comfortable. Great access to the lake where we were able to enjoy the northern lights. Cute enclosed porch where I could enjoy my morning coffee or a glass of wine at night. Would definitely stay again.
We had a nice stay . Loved the property and especially the boathouse. Had a few issues with neighbors who were working on their cottage â noise â and a few times they blocked the entrance with their cars. This cottage reminded me of a cottage from a bygone era
Beautiful property with excellent location by both a quiet creek and the main lake itself. Kids loved every moment of the creek, short drives to state parks, overall great time
Erik was great to work with and went out of his way to help us gain 2 more kayaks for our travelers. The house is in a great spot near the lake and it was a great time
We enjoyed our stay. We were only at the cottage for 3 nights so we basically just slept there & ate breakfast there. The kitchen was well equipped and clean. The "Lake" decorations were a very nice touch -- they made it feel like home.
We started coming to Lake Chautauqua about 10 years ago and camping at Camp Chautauqua. We grew to really love the area and then started staying at Chautauqua Harbor Hotel. It seemed like the more we visited the more we wanted to come back.
That lead to looking for a place where we could stay longer, enjoy the lake and the outdoors easier, and just make it our second home. We now think we have that perfect getaway!
We love the serenity of the back yard while still having the lake front just a few steps from the driveway. Plenty of lake views from the yard that is also bordered on 2 sides by Spring Creek. We'll often see some ducks or other wildlife both in and out of the creek.
The back house also provides the perfect place to spend your day playing indoor or outdoor games or grill dinner while celebrating a day on the lake or enjoying the nearby sites, shops and restaurants.
This property is unique in the area for the fact that we have both privacy and lakefront and dock access. Our backyard borders a watershed conservancy and the creek on 2 sides makes for a serene setting in the backyard. While only a few steps away across the street is the lake and our dock to enjoy the views and watch the boats go by. Or launch a kayak or dock your own boat.
