Imagine a Vail vacation home without highway noise, or an obscene nightly rate. Imagine opening the windows at your vacation home and hearing only the sounds of a rushing stream and the wind blowing through the aspen and evergreen trees. At this property, Golf Terrace 47 by Mountain Vacation Lodging, that's what you'll be getting, and a lot more. This end unit, end of the road townhome has a quiet peaceful setting because it immediately borders the national forest. At the same time, it's golf course area location also means you'll be quite close to the hustle and bustle of Vail Village. Beyond the fantastic ambiance, this townhome has a lot of features to appreciate, including four bathrooms, a wet bar, a private office, high end furnishings, and a bedding setup that is ideal for 3 couples or a small family. Please read on for more details.
The Property:
There are three bedrooms and four bathrooms across the unit's 3 levels. The middle level is all living space, the heart of the vacation home. The fully equipped kitchen and dining room face the back yard and national forest. Off the dining room is the back deck, which includes comfy seats surrounding a gas firepit and there's a tall patio heater as well. Just off the back deck is a stream that cascades past the gas BBQ grill on its way out of the national forest. While it's not much to look at, it's the sound of that water rushing down the mountain that is the real treat. In winter, there is a good amount of flat yard area for kids (or adults) to create snow angels or snowmen. The front half of the main level is a large living room. It's so large, in fact, that it is split into two distinct areas. One half focuses on the fireplace, a great place to curl up with a book (or your devices) while the other half centers around a large HDTV. Both feature very comfortable and high quality furniture. The main level also includes a wet bar, a full bathroom, a front balcony with chaise lounge chairs, and a laundry room / pantry. Upstairs are bedrooms 1, 2, and the office. All 3 of these private rooms have vaulted ceilings. The first bedroom is quite large. It has a Queen size bed, large TV, mirrored closets, and a private bathroom. The bathroom has a water closet, dual sink vanity, and large shower. It was recently renovated with marble tile. Bedroom 2 has a King size bed, large TV, and faces the national forest. The bathroom for this bedroom is right outside the door, but since the only other room up here is the office, it is dedicated to this bedroom. The office is a good size and includes two workstations, in case you have more than one student or workaholic in your group. Bedroom 3 is on the entry level, along with the garage and foyer. This bedroom is a true suite that includes a King size bed, private bathroom, kitchenette, and electric fireplace. The room has a TV, a chair with ottoman, and a dining table for 2 that would also work well for a laptop.
Location:
The location is serene and convenient. The Golf Course area of Vail is immediately east of Vail Village, but when you sit out back, you feel a world away. The Golden Peak Ski School is only 1.5 miles away so it is easy to drive and drop off, drive and park, or you don't have to drive at all, since the bus picks up and drops off just a quarter mile from your door. Even closer than the ski school are the Alpine Gardens, the Ford fields, tennis courts, and playgrounds, the Vail Athletic Fields & Nature Center, and of course, the Vail Golf Club. In the winter the golf course is home to nordic ski trails and in summer you can walk from this home up the Gore Valley Trail to numerous hiking trailheads, such as the Booth Falls, Pitkin, and Bighorn trails.
