My family and I loved this property. Very spacious. Views of the lake are amazing. Communication with property manager was great, answered any questions we had right away. We will definitely book this property again in the future.
We had the whole crew from 4 different states, all gathered for the weekend. The house was perfect. But the location was even better! Such a great piece of Lake Norman! Thanks for your hospitality!
Couldn't have asked for a better location or host. We enjoyed entertaining our college kid and his friends, along with his younger siblings. Made for a perfect get together Thank you Martha!
We had 13 in our group and this large house had room for everyone. It had everything we needed including kayaks for getting out on the lake. Good experience.
This large house has great views of Lake Norman from many different rooms. The house was quiet and comfortable. It's also conveniently located to restaurants and grocery stores.
The property itself is just perfect. The home is relatively dated, as reflected in the photos, but by no means shabby or unkept. When a storm through a wrench in our boating plans, the host went the extra mile to ensure we were taken care of and had the weekend we'd been planning for.
My family had the great pleasure of staying at this property over the Columbus Day holiday weekend. The home is extremely spacious and very well appointed. Each couple had their own quarters but the common areas are large so you can still be together as a group without feeling crowded. The views are just spectacular and we enjoyed both sunrise and sunset each day. We would not hesitate to come back here again. Thank you so much!
Great place. Well maitained and plenty of room for everyone. Parking was no issue. The place was very clean. The host was very responsive to any questions we had.
Our church ladies group stayed here for our annual retreat. The property is great! Beautiful views, plenty of space, ample parking, and a well stocked kitchen. Easy checkin and checkout, and the property manager immediately texted back with an answer to my question. Thank you for a great stay!
Our stay was most enjoyable! The house and property was as advertised, if not better! The house was very clean. There are neighbors, but the property is so large (over two acres) that it made us feel as if we were alone on the lake. Our host, Martha, was very helpful and her Dad helped us start the Pontoon! We plan to return next year.
We had 3 generations & 2 dogs with plenty of room. We spent everyday in the cove with the water toys. Marty & her Father were extremely helpful and pleasant to work with. I would definitely recommend this property for your summer vacation. We rented the pontoon boat, all enjoyed and the kids got to fish.
Beautiful views and walkout access to Lake Norman!
Marty made it very easy to check in and even came by to greet us. Although we didn't maximize the space, the house can easily hold the number advertised. The kitchen and living area feel bigger than the pictures show. The bedrooms are roomy. The house is homey and comfortable -- like being at your grandmother's. The best parts are the views and lake access.
The ch check in process was easy, renting the boat at the property was very convenient, the property is gorgeous. It is a great location and the house is really cool and slept our group of ten pretty well. The house needs a bit of updating, but there is plenty of room and the pool table and other amenities were really nice. We had a great vacation. Thanks, Marty.
The view in this house is absolutely amazing loved it. The house was nice and clean when we got there. Very easy check in. We definitely had a lot of fun at the dock and playing pool. We did loose power when we were up there due to the storm, they had a bunch of led lights so we we good until power came back on. The stove was a little hard to cook on but overall it was a great experience. đ
The home is spacious, very clean, and situated for some beautiful views of the lake. We had our 2 Golden Retrievers with us and there was plenty of room outdoors for them to chase their tennis balls all day, which led to them sleeping anytime they were inside. The kitchen was large and well equipped, with plenty of seating available for family meals. Wifi and tv's were nice amenities, and used a lot. The lake was very low due to a drought, and because of how dry it was we were not able to take advantage of the fire pit, but it looked nice and we would have used it. Everyone was comfortable with the bedrooms and beds, and having linens there was a bonus. We would highly recommend this home to anyone with a fairly large family. Check in and out was simple, and it was nice that there was a book explaining the history of the home and lots of other info about restaurants and places of intetest nearby. We would definitely rent this home again.
We really cherish our family time away from home. There were a few more chores than I expected. cleaning was difficult without a broom, a cabinet door was broken so I taped it with blue tape. Freezer space was limited, and a small outdoor frig/freezer was frozen with items in the ice and was not clean. One night the air filter fell out of the ceiling, it was dirty. I love gazeboes and have one at my home. It was not clean either. We loved the space and the outdoor and make due with what there is, but it does take time away from enjoying each others company. There is no way to check for some things until arrival. Would we stay at this particular property again, that's questionable, because we don't know what to expect with those particular repairs and some other things that if it were summer may not be usable. We loved the privacy of the location.
My family stayed here for a long weekend for my nephewâs 1st birthday. It was everything we wanted; very spacious, beautiful yard/view, and fun amenities like a basketball hoop, pool table, and boat. We rented the boat and it was great! The host Martha was very responsive and friendly. Highly recommend!
My name is Marty, and I am from West Virginia but made Lake Norman my home Summer 2015. I manage the 3 rentals on the property for my family, and live in between the homes with my Beagle mix in a detached garage apartment. I have been doing Vacation Rentals since I have moved here. I am also a licensed real estate agent for the area. If you are potentially interested in residing in the area please do not hesitate contacting me for more local information!
This house was originally owned by the lakes namesake and designer, Norman Cocke. He chose this property because he believed it to be one of the best on the lake. The house has been added onto and renovated throughout the years, but it still holds a lot of history. My family has owned it since 2000, and it has always been our get away vacation spot from WV. It has an abundance of land and fun to be had.
The property is located on a private drive at the end of a peninsula. All 3 properties (minus my detached garage apartment) are vacation rentals. This house, "The Point House" is the best of the bunch. It has a panoramic view of the lake and can entertain your immediate and extended family. The house comes with a private dock, cove, beach (depending on water levels), shoreline fire pit, propane grill, basketball hoop, and corn hole boards. Upon availability, I also rent out my pontoon boat, paddle boards, and kayaks. Since I live (sometimes) with my dog beside the property, we are dog friendly. My dog, Jager a 20 lb beagle mix, may say hi at some point so we feel it is only fair to allow you to bring your fur babies as well.
