There's room for everyone at Tanglewood thanks to an intelligent, family-friendly multi-storey design that sleeps 10. The home nestles into the hillside, with two car spaces and a beautiful pool overlooking the beach (heating one hundred dollars a day extra) The level above the entryway is given over to sleeping quarters, with three glorious north-facing bedrooms, including two spacious kings, one with en-suite.

The level below is home to the living quarters; a breezy and sun-kissed open plan area filled with tasteful antique furniture in beachy style. The enormous balcony is ideal for long lunches overlooking Palmy it's a pleasure to cook in the beautiful marble kitchen with high-end appliances, a breakfast bar and acres of bench space.

There's more to come, though. The level below the main living area offers another king bedroom with a kitchenette and TV/rumpus area and the entrance to the pool. Below that is a stunning garden suite with a king bed, en-suite, another kitchenette and a study.

What the owner loves
Seclusion, convenience and the great outdoors combine to make Palm Beach the perfect place to stay. With the beach less than five minutes away, strolls on the sand or swims in the ocean are always within reach. Morning coffees at the kiosk can lead to days exploring the beautiful Barrenjoey headland or simply lazing by the pool catching up on some reading. And all that less than an hour from the Sydney CBD.

What we love
This is simply a gorgeous property. The styling is exemplary - an effortless blend of contemporary luxury and old-fashioned seaside charm. Looking out at the beach and the green hills beyond, you'll wonder whether you've been transported to Hawaii or New Caledonia. White shutters, timber floors and rattan furniture never go out of style. Neither does the view.

What the family traveller loves
Apart the sheer space it offers room for 10 with four bathrooms and a powder room -Tanglewood has a long list of family-friendly features. The pool and beach are obviously great ways to spend the day, but if quiet time is in order then the rumpus room with flat screen TV is a fantastic option. Teenagers (or parents) will enjoy the privacy of the garden retreat, and the size of the living room and balcony mean everyone can do their own thing before coming together for a family meal.
