Old Hollywood meets Old West Austin at the timeless Governor's Mansion – a mile from Downtown Austin. The stately residence was built by Texas' first woman Governess, Miriam “Ma” Ferguson in 1927. Legend has it, her hostful spirit can still be felt welcoming excited visitors into her house on the hill top. Accommodations include 7 bedrooms + 5 bathrooms to sleep a total of 18 guests. Amenities include a fully stocked kitchen with high-end appliances, 4 separate living quarters with their own spacious drawing rooms, a private unheated sunkissed swimming pool, multiple shaded poolside seating areas, a propane gas grill and a secluded second floor balcony among the treetops. The estate has been fully restored with tasteful design elements paired with rich textiles and furnishings – ideal for entertaining family, friends or colleagues. Please pay close attention to the following: Non-compliance could result in sizable fines.
-A 3-night minimum stay may be required.
-The maximum occupancy is 18 adults.
-Rental Agreement must be e-signed after 48 hours after booking, which requests the names and ages of adult guests.
-Included with your reservation is an accidental damage protection insurance policy that protects everyone from any unexpected accidents. The full name, address and date of birth of the primary renter must be submitted within 48 hours after booking to our insurance partner, Safely.
-Bachelor/Bachelorette groups must all be over 30 years old.
-Age restrictions apply. Please inquire for more information.
-Additional deposits may be required.
-No pets allowed. If you are traveling with a pet, reach out as we can help you find a pet-friendly place.
-Fireplaces are not for guest use. Sorry.
-The exterior of the property is monitored by video cameras 24/7.
-To keep our home beautiful, we ask that you not hang decorations on the walls. Tape, tacks, and other adhesives tend to peel paint and leave marks, etc. Glitter and confetti decor are also prohibited both inside and outside. Evidence will result in an additional cleaning fee of $250, plus the cost of damages to home.
-Enjoy a smoke, just not inside. Please ensure all doors and windows are shut and dispose of your ends in the outdoor trash bins. Indoor smoking will result in a sizable fine.
-Reservations made during Festivals and Conferences are non-refundable, i.e., SXSW, ACL, F-1, etc.
