Very nice property. It was off the beaten path, which we liked (but far from amenities). The cottage was small but comfortable and well equipped. There were a few hiccups, upon check in, but they were dealt with promptly. Overall we had a great stay.

Great little property with ample amenities. The addition of the kayaks is fantastic, will look to come back again for sure.

Me and my husband had the best time! We bonded and did a whole bunch of stuff together. They had everything already there. Would recommend! I’d love to visit again!

We had a nice stay of 4 days. I am glad we brought our own bedding as the bedding on the bed was not clean and was stained. The floors were dirty upon arrival. The cottage overall was nice. It was a hot week when we stayed we were thankful for the air conditioning. The bunkie we did not use as it had a strong odour of fresh wood and it was very hot. The bathroom was very nice and the shower was accessible. The cottage had lots of windows to allow for a breeze to come through on the cooler days. The kayaks were a nice added feature and the water was so clear you could see to the bottom with all the fish and turtles swimming around. Lots of wildlife around the property. The stairs down to the water are rocks so it was not accessible for the older folks we had with us they unfortunately had to stay up and enjoy the views from the yard.

July Stay

Owner very helpful. Property was beautifully kept. Many things already there. It is 20-30 kms from any stores so bring your groceries, bottled water with you. Beach is down the road 1 km. Kayaks were great addition to our stay. Used them a few days. Highly recommend and would return.

Great week -August 2024

Stayed the for 5 nights end of Aug 2024. Nice location, spacious grounds nice view of the lake with large dock to hang out on. Check in was easy and owner was responsive and helpful. Would have been nice to know that the 3rd bedroom is in a converted type shed. Cozy but No A/C in it. Fortunately it was a cool week so no AC was needed . Conservation area and hiking with beautiful look-outs are across the street from the cottage. There are no stores or grocery near by (20-30 min) so bring everything you need . Enjoyed our week and recommend it

Very nice location, fun trip, accommodations so so

The lake is awesome, nice location, we had a great time, brought canoe and padle boards, we also used on site kayaks We had a few issues however that should have been specified in the ad so we could have prepared better Water to the house is from the lake, bring water to drink One bedroom is in a shed outside, no a/c, no w/c Ad mentions bathroom towels supplied, host said we had to bring our own and apologized for the ad, but didn't offer any assistance Host confirmed propane for bbq on site, empty tank so we had to use the electric range inside, unfortunately the range has no ventillation hood to send the smoke/fumes outside, no good for such a small space Hope this helps

Great little getaway

The place was small and cozy. We didn’t need anything bigger! We only slept in the main bed and it was a comfortable sleep. The waterfront is weedy but still nice to sit on the dock to soak it in. The kayaks are a good touch and there are hiking trails across the road. The property was nice and quiet. The house was equipped with most things. I’d suggest bringing it if you think you’ll need it. More longing chairs would have been a nice touch, especially down on the dock. Communication was slow and poor with the owner but we didn’t require much.

Beautiful location, property and host did not meet expectations

There are lots of positives about the property and area. Palmerston lake is gorgeous, the view and sunsets are spectacular, local people are great and it’s a great area to explore and fish. The dock space at the property is perfect and the kayaks available were great! On the downside, we had multiple issues- no hot water for 3 days out of 6, dishwasher broken, invasion of ants in the kitchen, lawn was long and unkept, the bunkie (3rd bedroom) was poorly ventilated and had a strong odour of mold, fridge was not functioning well (loud humming) and difficulty cooling. The host was very difficult. Poor communication, didn’t call when he was supposed to (for 2 days in a row) and was very slow to answer messages about not having hot water. He was sarcastic with responses commenting “it’s a cottage, ants are harmless” and accused us of being verbally aggressive. We ended up taking care of most of the issues ourselves. We purchased ant products, vacuumed out behind the fridge to get better airflow and attempted to air out the bunkie for someone to sleep but the odour was still too bad. Host was not interested in helping out except for the hot water 3 days later. Important notes not on the listing:- renters must take all of their garbage home with them, for us this was ok as we have a truck, but I can see this being a big issue for others. Especially if you stay for a week. - 3rd bedroom is a bunkie that in our opinion is not safe to sleep in due to the harsh mold smell.
