Peaceful and relaxing

This cabin had everything we needed! It sits on a quiet piece of land, and the drive to town is absolutely stunning. Comfortable beds, fully stocked kitchen, close to town, and a responsive host. We loved watching deer and wild turkeys from the deck. We enjoyed Pagosa so much. We hiked to Treasure Falls, enjoyed the hot springs, ate at Meander and Tequila’s, and tubed down the river. What an awesome stay!

Loved the view and the fully stocked Kitchen. The pool table and dart board were lots of fun too! Beds were comfy and overall we had a great stay!

Loved the Cabin! Mgmt company was great when a storm came in and power was out for about 2 hours. We had everythig we needed, beds were very comfortable. Would definitely stay here again.

Perfect for a family!

Plenty of space for all to enjoy! Close to everything and comfortable to relax as needed. Was really great for the kids and had all we needed to cook ourselves meals on nights we didn’t want to go in town.

Four adults enjoyed our stay. The cabin was clean. There’s fan’s in the bedrooms with room air conditioners. The kitchen was stocked with utensils needed for our week. The location of the cabin is close to the grocery store and Walmart for items needed. It was secluded and peaceful. I, personally, enjoyed the porch swing.We contacted the property manager, as there was an electrical storm which caused the refrigerator to beep. An agent came to the cabin immediately to reset with the push of a button. Whew! We were glad to know it wasn’t an inconvenience for the week. We had more of the storm, which we throughly enjoyed, of a downpour of hail and much needed rain. It was beautiful.Lots of wildlife. Easy accessible to Pierre Falls, Echo Canyon Lake, Treasure Falls, and the Hot Springs. We also enjoyed a few walks near the cabin. There’s a bench on the property to walk out to and sit for a wonderful peaceful view.We really enjoyed staying home and chilling. Much to do with games of pool, there’s a corn hole game, other games and books. Yes! We would go back! Thank you for allowing us to stay at Lazy Beaver!

Everything you could want

This cabin is awesome! It's about 10 min from downtown but is felt super secluded, which my group loved! The pool table and other games provided plenty of entertainment. We brought an ice cream cake which didn't fit in the kitchen freezer but did fit in the basement freezer so that was a great find!

Great private spot for families

This place was a great home base for activities in Pagosa, Durango, and the surrounding areas. The only missing amenity would have been a hot tub, this could really put this place over the top. As others mentioned, noise from floors above is loud, but that is part of staying in a log cabin. We got used to it by the second night and the fandeliers in the rooms help with the noise and comfort.

Very nice place!

Our stay was great at this beautiful cabin! Upon arrival, the door code wasn’t working, but we got fast, easy, and friendly contact with costumer service and got it fixed immediately! The cabin is beautiful and very spacious. It is equipped in case plans are to cook there! Although we were expecting for it have a hot tub (as listed on Vrbo and when booking), unfortunately there wasn’t one in the home. Location is great! Pretty close to the city center and about 10-15 minutes from the springs! The cabin also has a lot of privacy since there is no neighbors anywhere close! Overall, a great experience and our family is definitely looking forward in booking again!

Lackluster

Overall, good location but the attention to detail was lacking and the pool table is a hot mess. There were cobwebs in the light fixtures in the kitchen, lots of light switches to try to figure out what goes to what, lack of towels, empty body wash container in one bathroom, fireplace didn't work and we had to have someone come out and they took quite a while to get there. Plastic wine glasses - We aren't in our 20s- no rugs anywhere so not very cozy. Floor left my socks dirty. Almost no seasonings in the kitchen so we had to get our own in order to cook. Lots of emphasis on being quiet inside and out of house (house is very far from anyone else).

We had a wonderful stay at the end of May 2026. 6 adults and 2 kids gathered for a family getaway- the size and room layout was perfect. Comfortable beds, well equipped kitchen, loved the deck and outdoor spaces. Grandsons really enjoyed the basketball game! Thank you- we’ll be back!

Nice house with a few issues

The house is very nice and located in a beautiful area. We did enjoy our stay but we did notice a couple of issues that everyone renting it should know… the master bedroom: you can hear every single step coming from the room just above, hese are not little noises but very loud wood floor noises, this means whoever sleeps in the master bedroom will have to go to sleep after the above room users have gone to bed and you will hear loudly anyone getting up from bed. Very very annoying. As well, we struggled with the curtains im every room and bathroom. These are rolling curtains that are too cheap and do not work well, hard to make them go up at all. The owners should really change these. Otherwise, the house is great, the local support, Heather was awesome to connect with and address our concerns while we were there. If the above two issues were solved this would be a dream lodge/cabin to stay at.

Beautiful home

This is a beautiful, comfortable home. We enjoyed our stay here. Upon arrival, 2 of the 3 propane tanks were empty. After emailing and texting, they came by and filled them up for us so we could use the grill and the fire pit. It was plenty spacious for our family, and we even had an empty room. There is a pack and play there as well if you have littles. Highly recommend staying here.

Great Accommodations for Large Family

We had ten family members staying at the cabin for our annual Colorado vacation. The cabin was clean, well-stocked, and beautiful. We had no issues with anything while we were there. It's close enough to be convenient to town, but once you're there you would never know it. We loved it and would stay again if we decide to stay in Pagosa Springs again. A fitted sheet for the air mattress would have been good, but everything else was stocked. Thank you for letting us stay in your beautiful cabin.

Absolutely Loved the Lazy Beaver Lodge

We stayed here Christmas &it was perfect for a large family, plenty of room to spread out!The game room upstairs was a plus to have the pool table when you needed to come inside &warm up! All the amenities were great!The property manager was easy to get a hold of&very helpful! I highly recommend this beautiful home when visiting the Pegosa Springs/Wolf Creek area!Had plenty of snow to enjoy&great skiing too!

Mostly Great Stay

The Lazy Beaver cabin is a lovely spacious cabin. The location is great, and the property is beautiful. There was plenty of room and comfortably slept 8 of us. It was warm and had very nice views. We also appreciated having the driveway plowed after the heavy snow. There are a few things keeping this from a five-start rating. The flooring was problematic. Normal walking around in the second-floor bedrooms could be heard quite clearly in the lower-level master bedroom, particularly at night. When someone would get up to go to the bathroom, etc. you could hear every single step. I’m sure this is related to it being a log cabin and a different insulation process, but it is incredibly loud when trying to sleep. In addition, most of us found the ultra-firm pillows provided uncomfortable for sleeping. The other less-than-5-star issue (a much easier fix), is the lack of conveniences, particularly in the kitchen. We found hot chocolate mix, pepper and a seasoning blend - that’s it - no salt, sugar, cooking oil/spray, etc. There was no lighter or matches for the candle we brought and the two that were provided in the cabin and no foil, plastic wrap, etc. that would have made things much easier in terms of food prep. The oven was filthy and smoked up the cabin, and there were only two dishwasher pods, which for a cabin that sleeps 10, two loads of dishes seems unrealistic. Because we were unable to run the dishwasher as needed, we had to wash dishes by hand, however, with only a dish cloth provided (no sponge/scrub brush), cleaning some of the pots and pans was a chore. The photos show a coffee maker with a K-cup option, but the required insert was missing, thus K-cups could not be used. We also could not find a shovel to deal with snow, which would have been very nice. Recognizing that the flooring would be a challenging resolution, a focus on the little things, would have made the experience much better, and increased the star rating. This is an amazing cabin with a ton of potential.
