Petite maison confortable près de Michigan Tech

Notre oasis confortable est à moins d'un mile de Michigan Tech (et leurs fabuleux sentiers de loisirs), à moins de 2 miles du centre-ville de Houghton et à moins de 11 miles du mont. Ripley, la mine Quincy et l'aéroport du comté de Houghton. Si l'emplacement n'était pas suffisant, vous allez adorer notre endroit car il est super confortable et vous obtenez toute la maison - donc c'est aussi privé! Nous accueillons les couples, les aventuriers en solo, les voyageurs d'affaires, les familles et les amis!

Parking: Limité à deux véhicules. En hiver, le stationnement est limité à 1 véhicule (pas de remorques).

Fumer: Il est interdit de fumer dans la maison ou sur la propriété.

Preuve d'enfant:
Deux barrières bébé seront fournies sur demande au moins un jour avant l'arrivée.

En train de dormir:
En tant que maison minière des années 1900, l'étage se composait de 3 très petites chambres. L'ensemble à l'étage a été ouvert dans une seule pièce de style loft avec un nouveau Restonic (Made in the UP!) Lit queen et un lit jumeau.

Le salon dispose d'un canapé-lit avec un matelas acceptable (mieux que le sol).

Cuisine:
Cuisine avec de nouveaux appareils électroménagers, une mijoteuse, un grille-pain et une cafetière). Le réfrigérateur est rempli de produits de base (ketchup, moutarde, etc.) et nous fournissons également du café et du thé gratuits.

Le porche:
Un porche avant fermé est idéal pour ranger les vélos et les skis lorsqu'ils ne sont pas utilisés.

Cour:
Terrain d'un quart d'acre avec un tuyau pour laver les vélos.

Se déplacer:
Les transports publics sont limités en dehors des limites de la ville mais il y a des services de taxi dans la région.
La maison se trouve à 1,6 km du campus de Michigan Tech (j'avais l'habitude de marcher ou de faire du vélo jusqu'au campus tous les jours de l'année). Le centre-ville de Houghton est à 3,2 km de la maison.

Perfect for Our Weekend Visit

Really nice place to stay for our quick winter trip up to visit family. The neighborhood is very quiet, which was great. Wish it would've been summer to enjoy the nice back patio and mountain bike trail access.

Great stay in Houghton

We have stayed at this property before and have always found it comfortable and very clean. Eric and Nina are responsive hosts if there is any issue. Check-in and out was easy.

Owners were very responsive to any questions. Quick responses.! Beds were comfortable. Nicely kept rental. AND great location - just up the street is the main town. A group of young men stayed here and thoroughly enjoyed the area and the snow boarding at Mt Bohemia.

Great stay in Houghton

We really enjoyed our stay here. It was the perfect size place for a family of three and located right near downtown Houghton. The guest book had great suggestions for restaurants and fun places to go with children. We highly recommend pizza at the Ambassador and visiting the Chutes and Ladders Park.

Nice place, close to MTU campus

My wife and I had stayed here for Michigan Tech career fair. It's very close to the campus at a very reasonable price. House is small but perfect for a couple or a small group.

Ski, Bike, Ski

We had a great stay at the property. The house is exactly what is described and located in a great location. We skied from the nearby trailhead and snow shoed from the house. We also downhill skied at Mt Ripley and skied and fat tire biked in Calumet. The house has a ski bench in the garage and you can store bikes there as well. Kitchen is well supplied and we made all our dinners at the house. We really enjoyed our stay. also, as a Lake Superior sailor I enjoyed the nautical charts on the walls!

Consistent, clean, and cozy

This was our second stay here - the homeowners keep a clean cozy property and did not disappoint. It provided the perfect location for our Houghton weekend getaway- We’ll be back!

Quiet cabin close to Houghton

This is a very well maintained and rustic cabin / small house in a quiet neighborhood just a mile or two from the bridge in Houghton. We could walk to the ski trails and had easy access to US-41 and downtown. The cabin was clean and very well cared for, had window A/C in the upstairs room, and had plenty of room for two. The neighborhood is full of trees and was quiet without being isolated. We would certainly stay again if we come back to Houghton.

Great location!

While it may not have privacy for parents if staying with kids, the property is charming. A historic home i imagine from the mining era. It had everything we needed to host our son and his friends for a Resurrection Sunday dinner and was only a block away! Short drive to downtown and walmart and onyl 15 minutes from the church in Dollar Bay we went to. Will definitely stay again if theyll have us!

Cool Miner's Cottage!

The location was perfect for our vacation in the UP! We loved the history of the house and the setting in the quiet neighborhood of Houghton. We didn't realize the sole bathroom was downstairs and the sole bedroom upstairs. We re-read the VRBO description and looked again at the pictures and feel that fact wasn't at all clear. Also, there wasn't any soap for the shower, and we were only furnished with one handtowel and two washcloths for our entire six-day stay.

Quaint and close to Tech trails

It was a nice place but we only slept there . We were visiting our son and had friends staying elsewhere and that is where we spent the majority of our time. There is only one bathroom and it is located on the lower level as far away from the upstairs bedroom as you can get. It was not an issue for us, but I can see how it would be for anyone who uses the bathroom at night. The back yard is inviting if you have accommodating weather and the trails are outside your back door. Very convenient. There was only one hand towel for the bathroom. I suggest having the same number as wash cloths and bath towels. It was nice to have coffee and breakfast/energy bars. We did use those. Thank you. I would say based on VRBOs we have stayed at previously in the area, this one may be a bit overpriced.

Christmas Getaway

I came to the U.P. to do some silent sports and relax. Eric's house fit all my needs. It was convenient to downtown, easy access to trails, simple, and clean. They even provided a waxing bench in the garage. Super comfortable.

Great Place Close to MTU

We had a great stay visiting our son for the weekend. Enjoyed grilling a home cooked meal and s'mores with a couple of his friends. We will be back next time we visit.

Perfect little vacation house

This was a great home base for our visit to Houghton and the Keweenaw Peninsula. Very simple but had everything we needed. One thing to note: the bathroom is small with a small shower (just want to warn anyone very tall or otherwise large). It was nice to be able to have more space than a hotel room for our stay, to be able to cook some meals for ourselves and to have a place close by to come back to for our toddler's naps.

Lovely and Homey stay!

We absolutely loved the home and the homes location!! It was the perfect size for my husband and I and our 3 children. We loved the small touches; maps of the peninsula, vintage dishes, the cute chairs, wallpaper upstairs, too many cute things to list. Absolutely EVERYTHING you may possibly need; coffee pot and filters, can opener, towels, scissors, first aid, mugs, plastic wrap, spatulas, pots and pans, baby gate, pack n play (by request), dish soap, spices, toys for kids....everything. It was everything we needed! Stove, microwave, oven, fridge, freezer, everything for you to be able to cook new XXYWe loved being close to a grocery store and beautiful downtown Houghton. They did an awesome job with a welcome binder that had lots of information on local places to visit, including a park and a laundromat both of which we utilized and were within 15 minutes of the home. Very quiet neighborhood, wonderful lot with a lovely quaint backyard. Super easy check-in instructions without a hitch. Perfect central hub for our exploring of the area all the way up to Copper Harbor. 100% Would absolutely book again!!

A week in the Keweenaw!

Very nice home on a quiet street very near campus

We stayed her for 5 days while we moved out Husky into their apartment. Campus was very close and easy to get to on the back roads (especially important with the Route 41 construction right now!) Even being this close to campus and town the street is very quiet. We slept with the windows open and it was not a problem. The house has everything you need inside and a beautiful and private backyard with a grill and a great fire pit set up. If I could change anything, I would wish for a 1/2 bath upstairs by the bedroom. Creaky stairs in the middle of the night was not my favorite. But, in a house this old, that would be highly unusual. Communication with our host was easy and quick. We had some confusion when we came to check in and they returned our call immediately. We would definitely stay her again.
