Cabin was average. 30 minute drive to gatlinburg or pigeon forge. Ring alarm went off early one morning. Number provided as contact had been disconnected. Had to listen to a alarm blast was not ideal.

Hillside Happiness is a beautiful home/rental. We have stayed in 7 in the last 3 years and this was by far, the cleanest, most updated property yet. We had everything we needed, along with seclusion. It has a security system which was huge for us. We loved that if a door or window opened, you were notified. The King Bed was super comfy. When we arrived, the lamps were on upstairs and downstairs, the Christmas tree was lit, and Christmas music was playing on the TV. Great ambiance! Thank you for sharing your place!

Gateway to authentic Smoky Mountain adventures

Want the true Smoky Mountains experience without all the over-commercialization of PF and Gatlinburg? This is it. Nestled into a gorgeous foothill neighborhood, this modern, well-appointed cabin has everything you need for Smoky Mountain adventures. Even though you'll feel like you're deep in the wilderness, you're actually just a couple of minutes from gas/grocery/general stores in Wears Valley, and less than 10 min from entering Great Smoky Mountain National Park. The property is perfectly clean, well-stocked, and has plenty of room for big families. The extra little touches like a pool table, old-fashioned arcade games, and spiral staircase make it all the more exciting and fun. We will be back!

Not Happy- we left a day early

We arrived to the property around 9pm, exhausted from driving for 11 hours and found the thermostat set at 59 degrees. I contacted Lisa to make sure we were using the thermostat correctly because it was taking a little while for it to heat up. Lisa responded quickly to my questions. In the meantime, we were looking around and pulled down the bed sheets to find stains and hair on the pillows and sheets. Text Lisa again to tell her about those and I didn’t get a response. I also went downstairs to the washer to see if I could wash the sheets, to find no laundry soap only and empty bottle. We ran to a Dollar General nearby (10mins away) at 930pm and found them closed. Went to another Dollar General about 15 mins away and bought so laundry soap, hair and body soap (they locked the doors as I left). Get back to the house to use the washer, nope. The washer is broken. Text Lisa about all of this and get no response. The only extra sheets we found were for the sofa bed and the pillowcases did not fit the pillows we had. Slept horribly, the sofa bed upstairs is extremely uncomfortable. Sent pictures of the stains and hair from the bed to Lisa the following day and she said the cleaning girls would bring clean sheets to fit the bed. She also said that a maintenance guy would come by to fix the washer, but not until Wednesday (we were suppose to leave by 10am Thursday). No time frames were given. Oh, also, a fire alarm was dying and periodically beeping throughout that whole first night, so Lisa was sending someone to fix that. The cleaning people came around 4:30pm made the new bed with clean sheets and took down the fire alarm downstairs. Within the 3-4 days we stayed (we were suppose to stay 5) we also noticed that there were pieces of debris on the floors from who knows when and the counter tops were not cleaned, nor the dining room table. The house looks great at a glance and it’s decorated beautifully, but don’t try to look deeper. They left us one roll and maybe an eighth of a used roll of TP in the upstairs bathroom. My boys stayed downstairs and didn’t have many complaints, but they’re teenagers, they don’t worry about too much. On Wednesday, the maintenance man showed up to look at the washer and then the cleaning girls showed up to pay him. He let us know that the washer had been “beaten like someone had moved it to that space” and it would require him to possibly tear the whole thing apart. The smell that came out of that washer was horrible.

Beautiful Place to stay

We are from Louisiana and was celebrating our 40th wedding anniversary. The cabin was clean and beautiful. The only draw back was the kitchen was on the second floor and the game room was on the first floor. To us that’s backward beside that we had a wonderful time. The windows in the cabin was beautiful. The view was stunning. Thank y’all for making our celebration special. We will definitely use y’all next time.

Nice enough

This place is nice and private and easy to access. We enjoyed our stay. The only thing not wonderful was the level of cleanliness. Things like dirty walls, dusty fans, items left by previous people under beds, spots on bedding
 but otherwise we liked it.

Beautiful home in private setting

We had really great time here. Beds were firm which is what we prefer and very comfortable. House was clean and yes there were bees outside on the deck but hey...your in Tennessee, there are lots of bees there. We didn't bother them and they didn't bother us. Drive is steep so make sure your brakes are in good shape. Only downside was no mountain view but we spent so much time in the mountains it wasn't a big deal. Overall....I highly recommend this place.

Amazing girls trip!

Our girls weekend getaway was absolutely fabulous staying at the hillside happiness! This cabin is not only huge but so accommodating in amenities as well! It had everything you would need (minus food obv) for your stay even if you got snowed in (which we did)! The views are breathtaking and the cabin is decorated in such a modern yet cozy cabin feel! we were soooo close to all the main attractions that pigeon forge offers but secluded enough that we didn’t have to see a single person if we didn’t want to! The cabin would be great for a large family or even a multi family stay because both floors offer master suites! My family will def be coming back to this property and I 10 out of 10 recommend staying here!

This house was perfect! Everything was super cute and convenient for our family. We felt at home right away. It was a little bit further away from town than we realized but totally manageable. I don’t have a single complaint. We would love to stay again in the future!

Just Perfect!

The location of this sweet cabin is perfect-right in the middle of Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg-but it's off the beaten path so you don't feel the "busyness" of those two areas. And, the views in the way to, and surrounding the cabin are stunning! We enjoyed the well equipped kitchen, and really liked each bedroom being on a separate floor. There are two separate balconies too! We loved being able to make use of the fire pit, and appreciated all of the attention to detail in the home. Can't imagine another place making us feel more at home. We're booking for next year, now!

This cabin has a beautiful view from all angles. There is plenty of space for 8 people. The pool table, games and common space provide lots of opportunities for fun! There is a fire pit out back, surrounded by the beautiful scenery. You are close to Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg, so there is plenty to do!

Wonderful girls weekend stay!

We had an amazing girls weekend. When you walk in you are instantly taken aback by how adorable and cute everything is. It was decorated soo nicely. The pictures really don’t do it justice. It was very clean and had everything we needed from fully stocked kitchen, playing cards, board games and a pool table! I’m already planning our next visit. Thanks for letting us stay at your adorable house in the mountains!

Hillside Happiness cabin review

The website needs to say two bedroom instead of 4 bedrooms, no grill which was disappointing, the washer and dryer needs some attention and the overall cleanliness was lacking in some areas. We had a nice time but hopefully these things can be fixed for the next guests.

Great cabin set up with all essentials needed for family extended stay. 15 minute drive to Pigeon Forge , cabin located in very nice quiet area. Impressed with cleanliness and inside furnishings and design. We enjoyed our stay thanks for your attention to the small details.

Nice place to stay but missing a few things

Loved the place at first glance, but as I stayed over time I noticed little things that I needed to take a star off for a perfect stay. The place needs a few basics that most homes would offer (more back up paper towels and toilet paper, kitchen basics like salt and pepper for cooking, detergent for the washer), but the contact for this place is very attentive and if I needed it I could ask. We just stayed for a few days and made due. The beds are very comfy and the place seems very new. Finding the place was a little tricky to find in the dark and you don't get signal on the way leading there so make sure to pay attention to the signs and download the map to get some navigation.

Modern and luxurious!

Place was well kept and updated, modern appliances and clean throughout. Plenty of parking and great location!! Space is very open, and the rooms offer plenty of room. The house is private but was pretty easy to find.
