This property is really special. Great location on a nice lake in Haliburton near Minden. Our stay exceeded our expectations from every point (cleanliness, coordination with the host, how well stocked the cottage was, the lakefront, etc...). It was the nicest cottage we have stayed at and would recommend this place to anyone. Looking forward to going back.

Staying at the Ballantyne house was truly an amazing experience. Bob was very accommodating, quick to reply and also updated us on items that would be of interest. The house was clean, spacious and had everything you needed. The house and lake were even more beautiful in person. Highly recommend this property

This house is absolutely the best we have stayed in. The place was clean and beautiful. It had everything you need to cook with. The outdoors were immaculate and had all the toys including a sandy beach. Bob the owner responded immediately and was very helpful with answeringany questions. This is a 10 out of 10 place to stay!

My family and I rented this beautiful cottage from Bob Thanks Giving long weekend 2026. The cottage itself was bigger than we thought it would be. It was listed to sleep 10, but I think it could easily sleep 14 comfortable. This isn't even including the bunker. The cottage is exactly what you see in the pictures. Just stunning, very clean, very modern but with a touch of cottage feel. It also had that family feel for sure. It was very close to Minden which provided a nice trip out to get some Kawartha ice cream with the family. We also walked along a couple rivers near by which was very nice. Bob is wonderful to deal with. My family and I would definitely recommend this cottage to any other family looking to rent.

This is one of the most beautiful homes that we have stayed at. Robert was an amazing host, very responsive and warm! The space had all the amazing amenities and was very comfortable.It was a pet friendly property with loads of space and direct access to the lake which was so beautiful! We loved staying at this place and can’t wait to get back again! Couldn’t have imagined a better way of spending the thanksgiving weekend :)

This is an absolutely beautiful cottage and lakefront property, as stunning as it looks in the photos - we will definitely be back! We've been renting cottages for almost 20 years now in Ontario, and this was by far our family favourite. Great setting for a growing family get-together (also pet-friendly!) with lots of gathering and lounging spaces throughout. The lake was warm and clean for swimming, and has a weed-free sandy bottom. We had lots of fun using the canoe and paddle board, and swimming to the dock and and playing on the lilypad. Other highlights included the gourmet kitchen and large dining table overlooking the lake, all of the bedroom space and multiple bathrooms, the screened in patio, and lots of games like crib and corn hole. A true gem with wonderful hosts!!!

The property and its lakeside location were amazing. It was very peaceful and had all the necessary facilities. Robert was very responsive and always quick to reply whenever we contacted him. Since we were the first guests of the summer season, the A/C was not working properly during a couple of hot days. Robert genuinely tried to help and even offered us an extra day’s stay, which we appreciated, but because of the heat we were unable to extend our stay. The main floor felt quite warm, though the basement stayed cool and comfortable enough for us to manage. Overall, we had a good experience, would definitely recommend this property, and truly appreciate Robert’s communication and hospitality.

Absolutely fabulous view of the lake and luxurious property with all amenities. The host is the most welcoming and accommodating person you’ll ever meet.

A Gem

We fell in love with this gem from the moment we saw the listing. The property and its surroundings certainly lived up to its description and then some. Everything described in the listing is true but it simply doesn't do it justice until you arrive in person to take in the serenity and beauty of the property and its surroundings. The owner, Bob, was responsive and always available if needed. I spoke to him a couple of times and is extremely kind and always looking to help make the experience a great one. Both my friend's family and our family enjoyed the stay and certainly look forward to returning some time soon!

Truly a dream!

Exceptional property. Clean, spacious, and finished with great taste and quality. The owner was very attentive and made sure that everything was in order before and throughout our stay. Do yourself a favour and find some time to visit here. Beautiful spot on the lake, which is not too big, nor too small. Within a short distance to all the amenities that the town of Minden provides and yet wonderfully secluded to feel at one with nature. We'll certainly try to get back as soon as possible!
