Sunny lakeside cottage with stunning sunset views!

Conveniently located 2.5 hours from Toronto, enjoy the best of any season at this beautiful open-concept 3-bedroom cottage on pristine Kushog Lake! Ideally located on a peninsula at the end of a dead-end road, this cottage offers peace and privacy, while southwestern exposure provides all day sun and magnificent year-round sunsets.

Clean, deep water off the dock offers refreshing swimming opportunities during the warmer months, while shallow access points are wonderful for kids to splash around. Other favourite summer activities include canoeing, fishing (great fishing right off the dock!), relaxing on the dock and watching the boats pass by, or reading, barbequing, or dining al fresco on the large deck overlooking the lake. During shoulder seasons, take in the fall colours, enjoy walks on the quiet, tree-lined road, hike nearby trails, or just enjoy a relaxing escape from busy everyday life. Warm up at the end of the day with s’mores cooked over a a peaceful fire overlooking the lake!

During winter months, the cottage also offers ample opportunities for winter activities, including skating, cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, or snowmobiling on the frozen lake. The cottage is also conveniently located 40 minutes from Sir Sam’s Ski Area, a great family-owned ski resort. Cathedral ceilings and large windows allow for full enjoyment of the surrounding landscape from inside the cottage, while pine walls provide a cozy cottage atmosphere.

The cottage has an updated open-concept kitchen/living area, a full bathroom, Bell internet, and is located 25 minutes from Minden for all of your necessities. Come enjoy a peaceful and rejuvenating getaway at this magnificent Kushog Lake cottage!

A getaway from the everyday

We opted for the shoulder season to take advantage of the quiet before the summer crowds arrive. Stunning view , wildlife, quiet and great hosts... absolute gem of a stay!

Cozy cottage with lovely waterfront

We really enjoyed our stay at this very comfortable, well equipped cottage. The waterfront was lovely with good fishing, a well located firepit, easy access to the water and enough chairs for relaxing! One of our favourite all time rentals!!

Just perfect!

Not only was the cottage nice, and comfortable, with gorgeous views and the perfect dock for sitting...oh and nice firepit too....but the best part was how easy Alison and Romelo have made it for guests. Great communication, everything explained and easy to understand. They've thought of everything!

Perfect Waterfront

If you want to wake up to a beautiful view, this is the place! One of the friendliest lakes I’ve been on. The water is clear, the stairs into the water are perfect with a sandy bottom!. The dock is wide and great for jumping from for swimming. Internet here works amazing. The BBQ is new and works great. Beds are comfortable and rooms are equipped with fans. There is a gentle slope to the water and the cottage isn’t far from the water so it’s easy back and forth to the cottage. I docked my boat here for the week and there was a lot of boat/seadoo traffic. Most people are friendly and slow down to respect the “wake” of the dock. I really enjoyed my week here and hope to be back! Thanks Ali!

Great view , amazing swim area. On this lake boaters listen to the rules. Firepit is almost on island in water , great grassy area. I loved it. I have harder time walking so steps into water was nice. Also used ladder on doc to get out. We heard and saw loons all the time. I have never seen such a tamed squarel looked up at breakfast and was starring at me on table. Chipmunks very friendly as well. Many different ducks visit. One night building fire 2 ducks sat 20ft away watching for 2hrs. We saw an otter getting in water by the fire. The TV was very nice and on rain day you still view outside while watching. Thanks for stay. We are going Back. Tom

We had a great week at this cottage…easy to get to..well maintained…spacious, with high ceilings and large windows…lots of sunlight all day long! 2 very comfortable chaise lounge chairs on the cottage deck..with a dining table seating 6…pull down blinds on all of the windows to keep the heat out of the cottage during the day…easy to open windows ensure a great night’s sleep when the temperature drops at night… The dock is big..2 Muskoka chairs for watching the world go by…Lake is deep off the end of the dock..and water is crystal clear…also a lovely little shallow lake area if you have small children. Alison kept in touch with regard to needing anything…which we didn’t…it was all there! Excellent kitchen…very well equipped and nicely organized…Great new smart TV and a pretty new gas BBQ on the deck ….We rented Sunday to Sunday…very quiet on the lake during the week..hardly any boaters…Saturday a whole different story…so many boats and jet skis….most passing by playing their loud music…but I think you probably get that on any lake in the summertime. We give it a 5 stars!!! Thanks Alison

Perfect spot!

My family and I rented this cottage for the Thanksgiving long weekend. What a beautiful spot! The fall colours were outstanding and the view of the lake from the cottage is stunning. The cottage itself is nicely decorated and super cozy. The owners were very responsive and even left us some jam and coffee for the weekend! Can’t say enough about this place. We definitely want to return next year!

Wonderful cottage with amazing waterfront

Our family of 3 just finished a perfect week at this wonderful property. The owners were very responsive and the cottage was pristine on arrival. We had so much fun swimming and fishing from the dock and provided canoe, taking in the amazing sunsets from the waterside firepit. The water quality is the best we've experienced in 15 years of Ontario vacation rentals. The cottage was well-stocked and wifi was great. Our only advice is there are 3 fantastic restaurants within 15-20 minutes of the property but they are hard to get into and have some restricted days. I would recommend making reservations early in your week to take-in those near 5-star dining experiences. Who would have thought there would be such great dining so close to this jewel in nature!

Wonderful Cottage - We'll rent this one again!

This cottage is gorgeous, clean, and so well appointed! We had a wonderful time staying one week in August 2022. The place is exactly as shown in the photos. Great swimming, either off the dock into deep water, or the shallow entry / stairs to the sand bottom shallow area - no weeds! Hooray! Spectacular long views down the lake, and a wonderful firepit area, huge deck, lovely dock. There are lots of power boats and seadoos passing by on the weekend (we were there on a long weekend) but it was super quiet during the weekdays. My 10 year son loved the power boats going by and jumping into the gentle waves from their wake. We really loved this place - we'll rent it again for sure!

We spent as a family a week at this georgeous cottage. I offers all you need for a family. We loved the deck on the lake and the canoe. We had a relaxing stay and can only highly recommend this cottage.

Amazing stay at a wonderful cottage!

My husband, parents, and I booked this cottage for an extra long weekend and it was absolutely perfect! Check-in was a breeze, the owners were so helpful with our questions, and the cottage itself was perfect. Everything was so clean, the coffee was delicious, and the location was incredible, especially with the October fall colours! Can't think of a single thing that needs improvement - it was the perfect stay :)

Perfect Cottage Getaway
