Let all your worries melt away through the enjoyment of this adorable secluded cottage compound featuring two, two bedroom structures. The long rugged dirt driveway leads you along Ryder's pond then reveals the meticulously maintained and manicured open yard featuring two man made sitting ponds, a large green lawn, direct pond access an with a private dock, amazing plantings of a multitude of varieties, and two quaint vacation cottages. The 3 acre property abuts Truro conservation land allowing for ample walking or biking trail access. The cottage closest to the pond boasts an open family, dining, and kitchen space with split A/C all overlooking the pond. Take advantage of the sliding doors facing the pond and utilize the deck to extend your living space. Down a couple steps find two bedrooms (one water facing) and two bathrooms. Each bedroom has a ceiling fan for airflow and comfort. In the basement find a game room with a bar and a pool table, ideal for occupying your time on those rainy days. Meander the plant lined path over to the other cottage roughly 150 feet away. Enter this cottage (which has central A/C) from the large deck. There is a full bathroom with a tub just off the kitchen. The large primary bedroom with king bed and en suite bathroom with a tub offers direct access to the deck through its own slider. The living room with 30" TV has a pull out sleeper sofa and another set of sliders for deck access. Climb the stairs just off the dining area for access to the cute loft sleeping quarters with a queen sized bed and 20" TV. If relaxation, nature, quiet, and serenity are important attributes for your next vacation, this could be the place for you! An SUV is suggested for the driveway. 3 night minimums available with an added cleaning fee. Save the cleaning fee by booking 7 or more consecutive nights! An administrative fee and applicable taxes may apply. Linens not provided. Guests may rent linens or bring their own.

Reviewer Comments: We had a lovely time at this house on the border of Truro and wellfleet (beach pass is for wellfleet). It is quiet, in the woods, and by a pond. It is accessed by a bumpy dirt road. Convenient to many beaches and activities. There is a charcoal grill only, not a gas grill as listed, and there was no outdoor shower as listed. The pillows need replacement.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: As frequent Truro renters we were excited to find a property right on our favorite kettle pond. The views from the deck in the master n house were wonderful and the primary LR enjoys this view as well. The home/s could use a refresh and amenities for the beach (chairs, etc) should be included at this price point. (I say this as a VRBO host myself). Speaking of which- if, like me, you book on the VRBO website you will be paying double fees: a hefty percentage to VRBO and another hefty percentage to Berkshire Hathaway. I would still rent these homes again for their location but the listing should be clearer that you can avoid double fees by searching on the Robert Paul property site.

The homeowner had 4 brand new beach chairs at the property. Our apologies that you were unable to locate them. Perhaps we can ask them to leave the chairs in a more noticeable place in the future. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The house itself is spacious with plenty of room for everyone to move around in without feeling crowded. My adult children appreciated the guest house as they had some privacy while still being close by.The location was great. We really enjoyed the pond especially after a day at the beach. A few negative things:Refrigerator was not emptied upon arrival, I wound up throwing out two garbage bags of food.Some electrical outlets were left exposed and some of the lights were tricky to figure out.Bathroom repairs were not complete and while it didn’t effect the functionality of the master bath, it was an eyesore to look at.Kitchen while spacious and well appointed could use an update. Having said all that, the positives outweighed the negatives and we would rent this house again.

Great View. Tired Houses

Rating Details: The property manager was more than helpful. The vacation rental was very dirty. I was very happy with the location. I was very dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The location on Ryder Pond is lovely, but couldn't make up for the rest. Even before entering the home we grabbed a walkway handrail only to have it completely dislodge (narrowly avoided a catastrophic fall). I tripped and fell on a different, uneven walkway that had no railing, resulting in nasty bruises and contusions. Both houses were tired with MULTIPLE windows not functioning, flickering and absent light bulbs, kitchen faucet fixture and cupboard pull-out drawers broken, electric plugs not working, bathroom faucets leaking (and we're not talking small, sporadic drips), slider doors not functioning or, if functioning, unable to be locked. Frankly, we felt ripped off and will never rent here again.

This property on Ryder Pond has welcomed many returning guests over the years who enjoy its charm, location, and the care taken by both the homeowner and our team. During this guest’s stay, we promptly dispatched the caretaker and technicians over four times addressing everything from concerns about a railing’s strength to an after-hours “no water” call that was resolved when it was discovered the shower knob had not been pulled out to activate the water. The homeowner takes great pride in this property, even providing personal touches such as notes about local bird sightings and tips for enjoying the grounds. While no property will be the right fit for every guest, we encourage future visitors to read through the many positive reviews to see what can be expected when staying here. -DM
