Vacation at the end of civilization! Ideally located and Lovely! - West End Girl

West End Girl is the very last Bay Side house on the western end of Dauphin Island. Enjoy the superior access to everything the west end has to offer. You will have a bay beach, a close walk to the gulf beach, and directly west of you is West End Park where you can explore 10 miles of the uninhabited barrier island at your leisure (park entrance fee applies). There is no better view of our famous sunsets.

West End Girl is a gorgeous beach house with oversized bedrooms that make it feel like you have room to relax and press pause on day-to-day busy-ness. Enjoy the modern touches with classic styles throughout. The kitchen and living room are larger than what you see in most beach houses. Every bedroom has its own bathroom!

As with all of our Dauphin Island Beach Rentals, all linens and towels are provided, WIFI, along with a fully-outfitted kitchen. There will be a starter pack of toilet paper, paper towels, and trash bags; please plan on bringing more for day 2 ;). A great beach vacation is waiting on you!

Please note the following:
1. Minimum Age for the Primary Renter is 25, and Primary Renter must be present for the entire stay.
2. Maximum Occupancy numbers include Children 3 and over and cannot be exceeded at any time.
3. All of our Homes are Non-Smoking.
4. A signed Rental Agreement is Required, which contains additional Rules and Guidance.
5. This property does not allow weddings or parties.
6. Check-in time is 3 pm, and check-out time is 10 am.
7. Start dishes and linens before departure.
8. Take the trash can to the street on Tuesday night and Friday night.
9. This home is NOT pet-friendly.

Great spring break trip

Last house on the island

Private, comfortable, well-appointed with kitchen and beach essentials. We had a relaxing few days in the sun. We would love to visit again.

Friendcation Relaxation!

The house was adiquitly accomadating! We enjoyed the view and the small details that made our stay perfect! Location was the best and our friends and family relaxed and connected without stress. We will stay here again!!

Great Beach Getaway

We absolutely loved this property! The home was just as described online and the location was perfect. It was wonderful to have access to the Bay and to the ocean. It was a quiet and relaxing vacation. We will definitely be back.

Great property

This property is very nice, clean and has pretty much anything you would need. The outdoor grill does not work, so we improvised and cooked inside. All I all I would totally recommend this house, great location.

Amazing Mermaid Getaway!

I stayed here early Feb 2023. Great house on stilts - basically at the end of the island with gorgeous views. Exactly as described and would recommend for families! I was traveling across country and wanted a beach to walk on in a low key area. Everyone was so friendly and the place is really beautifully decorated. Thanks for letting stay!

Beautiful

The house is beautiful and had everything we needed. We had an issue with the ac unit, but the property management had someone come and fix it within just a couple of hours. We will absolutely be visiting again!

Family vacation

My wife and I along with our 4 kids, my brother and his wife and their 3 kids stayed for a week. Had a great time! We fished nearly every day from the beach or the bay. Only thing we wished there were more common kitchen things, salt, pepper, foil, ect. Other than that the house is great!

Annual Family Vacation

Perfect 10 plus. We absolutely loved this house with the location, space, porches and furnishings with the ease of accommodating our family of 6 adults and 3 pre-teen (teen) grandchildren. The evening sunset from the back porch was a nightly event with morning coffee on the back and front porch. It was a vacation we really didn't want to end and plan on another year at the West End Girl if God willing. Thank you from the Davis Family.

Fantastic House and Location

West End Girl on Dauphin Island was incredible. The island is gorgeous. The house is in a great location with the bay in the back and the gulf in the front. The public beach next door wasn’t a problem at all. It was never loud. They had movies 2 nights on the beach plus someone shot off a small fireworks display which was a nice little bonus. The house itself was wonderful. Each room having its own bathroom was a plus. Lots of room for our group. Everyone said it’s the best beach vacation ever.

Amazing overall

Let’s first start off by saying I don’t ever except anything to be perfect. The house was beautiful and had lots of fresh towels for our beach vacation. The only thing I might say needs to be changed is update some of the kitchen items like a new can opener. Besides that we absolutely loved the view from Both sides of the house. We got exactly what we came for to relax and have fun with our family.

Fall break 2021

If I were going to purchase a beach home, this would be the one!!! I loved the layout of the home because all bedrooms were private and each had its own bathroom. The decor was gorgeous as was the view! We had the shortest walk to the beach on the entire island and we watched dolphins play in the bay on our first night there. My daughter and grandchildren napped in the hammock on the back porch and we cooked almost every meal in the well equipped kitchen! The only negative thing that happened all week was the lake that formed in the driveway after a storm one night. It hung around for a couple of days due to the sand that was still being cleaned up from hurricane Ida. It made it difficult to enter and exit the home because the stairs led straight into the water. We had no choice but to wade through it. The beach was lovely, the sunsets were beyond description and my whole family wants to come back again!!!

The stay

First we walk in and the house had not been clean . There was sand all over the place , hair on the night stand , the top of a bunk bed bedspread was dirty was chocolate or something like that . We had to clean the house before we brought our stuff in . We called and told them it wasn’t clean and called and complained they was just like sorry , we could send someone out to clean it . What are they gonna clean .? We cleaned it all .Then we go to put food in the pantry and roaches came out !! There was roaches in the pantry , cooler, and fridge and dishwasher. Called and the pest man came out Monday . We still had roaches the rest of the week . I left a message them on Saturday saying that the roaches was still present . The air wouldn’t cool the house . It would stay 82 or higher They put 3 pounds of Freon . Still didn’t cool the house . We went out and bought fans to keep cool .. Now Let’s talk a little about postive things. The floor plan lay out was awesome . Each room has there’s on bathroom , it’s all one level . Plenty of room for 12 people . Only one flight of stairs to go into the house . Location is great . You have a view of the beach on the front and the back a view of the bay . Also when we look at the pictures . The bunk beds was in one room . When we checked in . We notice they switch the rooms up . That needs to be updated .

I am sorry the HVAC company was not able to identify the cause of the issue with the AC. We have continued to work with them to resolve the issue you faced. Our goal is to provide a relaxing and positive experience for all of our guests and I am sad we were not able to provide that for you. I will share your feedback with our management team so we can continue to make improvements to ensure our guests have a fun and relaxing stay.

Beautiful house, maintenance issues, flooding issues

The house is absolutely gorgeous and fit out groups needs very well. Loved that each bedroom has it's own bathroom. The kitchen is very well stocked. Plenty of seating on the back deck and loved the rocking chairs on the front porch. Now for the problems we had...we had a breaker trip and couldn't find the box to check it. I called for someone to come check it but apparently the maintenance people were dispatched to another house beacuse they never came. Later that day the back steps collapsed with my son in law. Someone responded promptly after that call. They steps were not repairable so we had only the front steps to use after that. They fixed the breaker during that visit. The whole parking area flooded because we had a few days rain in a row...some of it heavy. The road was also flooded because of this. The parking area has no where to drain so we had to walk in several inches of water from the parking area to the steps...even getting to the back steps required walking in water (before they collapsed). The water was there every day of our visit. The maintenance guy offered a sump pump but this was on our next to the last day so there was really no point by then. There were major issues with the house but we made the best of it. The access to the bay is wonderful and where we spent most of our beach time. The listing says you can wall across the road for the gulf side beach but there is very little beach there. You are next to the public beach but it is 3 dollars per person or 10 dollars per car. We made do with the gulf side. It is much calmer and great for the little ones and for the kayak. There are 2 kayaks at the house to use but only one paddle. We loved our family beach vacation. Overall the house is nice but too many issues for us to want to rent it again.

The West End Girl was beautiful .

We loved the house but, it had a strong musty smell . Also, someone needs to build some kind of walkway to get up steps from car. The steps are buried in sand. And the noise from large equipment that goes on all day next to house needs to be stated so renters are aware ahead!

Review of West End Girl

It was excellent however we had a few issues. 1. Code didn't let us in. Luckily the back door was unlocked. The following day someone helped us. 2. Right 2 burners on stovetop were not functioning. 3. The gas grill needs a new O ring. It was obvious the hose was recently replaced but it needs a new O ring. The way it is now is unsafe. Beautiful home, ideally located!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at West End Girl on Dauphin Island. Being so close to the bay side beach was great for our younger kids, and the larger waves on the gulf side were super fun for the stronger swimmers in our group. The house was perfect for relaxing, cooking and spending time together. We will be back!!
