Welcome to your private lakefront cottage retreat on a quiet, forested point overlooking both Dickey Lake and its peaceful bay. Ideal for families and groups seeking space, privacy, and direct waterfront living, this Western Red Cedar Pan-Abode cabin sits on 2 fully forested acres with winding paths, shaded hideaways, and plenty of places to explore or simply unwind.

Unmatched Waterfront + Outdoor Fun

Dickey Lake is a Class 5 lake—deep, clean, and known for its crystal-clear swimming. Your stay includes 500 ft of private waterfront, a large 10' x 20' floating dock, and an 8-ft deep swimming area perfect for jumping in on hot days. You’ll also enjoy a gentle sandy beach entry for little ones.

It was a really wonderful place to stay. As advertised, cottage was cozy and nice and clean. It had all the necessities. The outdoor shower was clean and lovely. The swimming was good, the boats were good. Would stay here again.

A Perfect Family Gateway!

Our family of three had an amazing week at the Orange Canoe cabin. The location is excellent, with stunning views of the lake in a peaceful, natural setting. The cabin itself was cozy, exceptionally clean, and thoughtfully stocked with everything we needed for a comfortable stay. There were plenty of activities for the whole family, and the host was responsive and communicative throughout the process. I would totally recommend this property to anyone seeking a relaxing retreat away from the city.

A truly amazing cottage experience

This cottage is one of a kind. It has the rustic feel of a log cabin but with all the comforts of home. There's a modern BBQ with a gorgeous outdoor space for dining. The waterfront is amazing and we enjoyed the kayaks, canoe, and SUP. I would definitely love to visit again!

We stayed for 3 nights, we enjoyed the waterfront view and activities like kiaking, board paddling, and jumping board. We had one rainy day where we enjoy staying inside and playing board games and watching movies. It was great remarkably staying we will remember for life

Beautiful week at the cottage!

My wife, son and I had such an amazing time at the Orange Canoe cottage! The hosts were amazing - a smooth process and great communication throughout. The cottage was clean and exactly as described. We loved the waterfront and everything was there that we needed to have a great time on the water. Our boy loved jumping off the diving board into the nice clean, deep water. We couldn't ask for a better vacation spot!

A Quintessential Ontario Cottage Experience

From the moment you see the Orange Canoe sign welcoming you at the edge of the property, you know you are in for a treat. The cottage is the sort of warm wood cottage I remember from my childhood with the tasteful touch of one who appreciates art that mirrors nature. The lake is pristine and makes for soul quenching swims and peaceful paddles by canoe or kayak. Wonderful!

Excellent getaway

Our family (19/16/12 kids) enjoyed the house along with the kayaks, canoes, and paddle boards. We also liked grilling our meals. Hearing the loons on the lake at night was a special treat. The hosts provided everything we needed for our stay. The only suggestion would be more bath towels. The immense DVD collection was great too! Thank you for opening your home to our family!

Second time at the Orange Canoe

Came back for 2022, having spent a week here in 2021. Everything was as described. Dock/Kayaks/cottage was amazing. Very nice location, quiet area and lake. The area did get hit hard by the May storm, but the property was clear of downed trees and debris. Nothing but positives about this rental. Outdoor shower is a nice little touch and they have a very friendly chipmunk!

Excellent summer break

Spent 7 days at property, everything was as described. Very quiet location, on a quiet lake. View was spectacular, cottage larger than we thought. Plenty of space, and plenty of things to do. Kayak, paddle board & canoe were a nice break from lounging on the dock in the sun. Cottage was clean and was stocked with plenty of fire wood and a jug of drinking water. Very pleased with our choice. Communication with property owners was easy and straight forward. Questions were answered promptly. No complaints overall and our family had an enjoyable, memorable holiday.

A classic cottage getaway!

We rented this cottage for a week in July, to spend with our kids (age 3 and 19). Everyone had the best time! There is something for everyone, from swimming on the lily pad to fishing off the dock to canoeing around, there was always something to do. The cottage has everything you could need including kitchen stuff, board games, life jackets, books, DVDs etc. There are two fire pits and the property is situated on a point with a cute little path through the woods to get to the end. It’s exactly what we wanted and we feel so lucky to have been able to spend time in this wonderful place. A few things to note: the listing states there is a hot tub, jacuzzi, and AC. There is not. Also, the little beach area didn’t end up being good for swimming as there were lots of leaches.

Thanks so much for your feedback Allison. Apologies for the few incorrect items (AC, hot tub, jacuzzi). We never had these and aren’t sure how they were accidentally added. I have removed all of them.

Excellent place to relax.

When we got at the cottage, the owners were leaving. We had very enjoyable conversations. Then she told us that they left things in the fridge for us. They weren’t exaggerating. Michelle and her hubby were very friendly.
