Welcome to The Beach Shack on Wanda, the ultimate destination for a classic Aussie beachfront getaway. The views of the sparkling harbour and the ocean beyond are nothing short of breath taking. With its long stretches of golden sand and calm waters, the beach is perfect for families. Just a short stroll down the shore leads to a delightful playground for kids, while in the opposite direction, you can fish off the jetty or dine at Rick Stein Restaurant, Cheeky Dog or Solders Point Bowling Club. Children will love swimming, building sandcastles, and playing games in the sandy beach and grassy areas.

This holiday home is inspired by its beachfront location, combining coastal chic style with a relaxed Hamptons vibe. Both the front and back of the property boast hardwood decks. The front deck offers comfortable outdoor furniture and a Weber BBQ, perfect for alfresco dining. The open-plan kitchen, dining, and lounge areas are framed by floor-to-ceiling glass, providing uninterrupted views of the stunning bay and opening directly onto the decks.

The Beach Shack is perfect for two couples or a family with up to four children. The master bedroom features a king-sized bed, a TV, and opens onto the deck with beautiful beach views. The second bedroom, also opening onto the deck, has a zip-bed that can be configured as two extra-long singles or a full king bed, all while enjoying magnificent ocean views. The lounge area includes a sofa bed suitable for two children.

Situated on a spacious lot, The Beach Shack offers ample off-street parking and side space for a boat. Each room is equipped with split-system air conditioning, louvred windows for fresh sea breezes, and ceiling fans. An outdoor hot/cold shower and the original outdoor toilet make clean up from the beach a breeze. Local shops, including a supermarket, bottle shop, chemist, butcher, café, and the area’s best fish and chips at Salt Mine, are just a couple of minutes away by car.

The property is a walk to Rick Steins at Bannisters, around 1.9 km from Salamander Bay, 2 km from Soldiers Point Marina and 5.1 km from Anchorage Marina Port Stephens. Newcastle Airport is just 30 km from The Beach Shack on Wanda, making it easy to start your vacation in style.

LINEN & TOWELS ARE SUPPLIED and the beds are made with quality white linen. Doonas (with decorative covers), blankets and pillows are also supplied.

BOND - a refundable bond of $1000 that is due 14 days prior to your arrival date and refunded 3 - 5 days after your departure.

NO VISITORS - We have a strict policy in relation to 'visitors' to the property. A fee of $500 per head will be charged if additional people are found at the property that are over and above the number of beds at the property or guests not registered.

It's just amazing to fall asleep and wake up to the lapping of the water and total serenity. One small suggestion it would be great if the property had a hair-dryer.

great property and beautiful location

we had a lovely relaxing few days ,very enjoyable. we did however have shoes stolen off the back porch so really need to lock all valuables inside and when we left we contacted the property manager to let them know we left our ghd straightener on the hat rings in the bedroom and have not heard back from them if it was located so this was disappointing but the property and house amazing

Great spot

Our experience overall was very pleasant. Comfortable for our family of 5 with amazing views right on the beach, kids loved it and it was extremely convenient for us to enjoy the sand and swim. Home was clean and modern with everything you need for comfort.

Soldier’s Point is a quiet residential area. Pub, Bowling Club, Sailing Club and Rick Stein’s restaurant, at Bannisters Hotel, are only a few minutes walk along the beach. Shops and Marina (with 2 restaurants) are a 5 minute drive away. Good communications and service from host Kayleigh, at “Stay Port Stephens”. Highly recommended.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Being our fourth stay at the Beach Shack we were very familiar with the property and surrounding area. It’s infact a favourite of our families hence why we’ve returned so many times. It’s unfortunate to see that the cleanliness of the property was not up to the standard you would expect when paying a premium price. Windows were dirty, the previous guests laundry was still in the washer/dryer, coffee pods were left in the coffee machine, children’s stickers were placed randomly around the property and both the clock and hairdryer were missing. A general wear and tear is expected however these examples seemed that there is some amount of neglect from cleaners. The location is incredible and the beds were super comfy but it was disappointing to see the lack of attention to detail which we were used to seeing.

Best Beach House Ever!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: My husband and I stayed at The Beach Shack on Wanda with our adult son and his partner. Our only regret is that we didn't stay longer. The home looks brand new and has a lovely beach house vibe. Every room has amazing views of the harbour and beach. The view is jaw dropping! Nelson Bay is close by, but to be honest - we didn't want to leave The Beach Shack. We spent our days relaxing on the deck, that feels like it's right on the water's edge, and swimming out front. The home was spotlessly clean and there were lots of extra thoughtful touches we'd never experienced in a holiday house before. Beds were super comfortable and it was lovely to fall asleep with the louvers open listing to the sounds of the water. Next time we'll bring a fishing rod and catch dinner for ourselves. Communication was easy with Stay Port Stephens and Shane and Michelle were very helpful. From our long walks along the beach it looks like beach houses like this are few and far between. We'll be booking this place again soon.

The views the calming decor and luxurious beds you know your holiday has began on the right foot. Being able to step into the beach and wade into the cool waters of salamander bay was like being the star of your own romantic movie. Everything on the house worked well for the 3 of us, even the quirky outside toilet was appreciated, along with the outdoor shower and easy access to the water to launch our kayak easily. We also loved the convenience of a quick stroll along the beach to great places to eat.Definitely recommend this place, it’s exactly what you need.

Waking up to this amazing view and having breakfast on the deck looking over the beach was breathtaking. With so many sights to see and shops to visit in Port Stephens this made an ideal place to stay.Comfortably sleeping 2 couples or a family with bedrooms facing the water was a treat and will be planning a return trip asap.

For the premium price charged I was disappointed to note a missing light bulb in the main bedroom lamp, frypans not suitable for the induction stove and the ridiculous rule not allowing visitors.
