Grand Designs Silo House country property Inverloch
The Silo House is certainly one of a kind. Featured on Grand Designs Australia May 2022 ( Season 10. Ep 2 ) and now available for holiday rental. Since its completion in 2020 the house has attracted attention from the media and was listed in Australia's top 100 unique stays in the Australian traveller magazine in 2021. What looks like converted milking sheds and wheat silos, is a warm inviting and entertaining space that is filled with charm.
With high ceilings that accomodate the two mezzanine rooms, silos that are in fact bedrooms, with ensuite. An enormous open plan living, dining with wood heater, and an uninterrupted view of the surrounding countryside.
The industrial style kitchen allows for some serious cooking that can be shared with friends around the large dining table or out by the fire pit. The hidden gem is the underground "speak easy" style lounge area, ideal for a quiet escape from your group or a round of poker after dinner. This holiday escape gives you more than just a warm cozy bed, it gives you a complete experience.
This house will take your breath away. The usage of recycled materials is amazing. Everywhere you look you spot something different. Its proximity to the town centre is perfect. We even managed a trip to the penguins on the last night and still got back to enjoy the night sitting by the fire. The baby calfs were a bonus. We will defiantly be back. Thanks x Fran Noble
A wonderful farm style stay close to town in a very well equipped and architecturally amazing home
The owners were very easy to deal with. It is a very large home comfortably accomodating 4 couples and huge comfortable living areas, outside fire pit . A stunning architectural house. Lots of extra comfort items included, eg herbs , beach towels ..........
We loved our stay at the Silo House. We were 2 families plus a grandmother and we all had plenty of space for privacy, for big dinners, for watching TV (on one of the many TVâs). We were spoilt on arrival on NYE by the host who was responsive and welcoming. The house was curated beautifully in a spectacular setting. Amazing sunsets were appreciated by the deck and fire pit or through the expansive glass windows. The speak easy was a nice nook for a post dinner chat. Quick drive into Inverloch was never a bother if we needed anything. Couldnât recommend it more.
