Great location for summer

Great location. However not particularly suited for heavy snow weather- owner cant do much here anyway. So be prepared to do some shoveling. Could not use the sauna as it would have required a lot of shoveling to get there. The rooms were also not properly cleaned unfortunately. Owner was very apologetic and promised to fix asap. No major issues with communication with owner. Overall, there's a lot of potential with some minor improvement. I definitely think its a great place for summer. The cottage is easily accessible and the lake is beautiful...was frozen for the time we were there.

The good ... and not so good

There were many things we enjoyed about the cottage; spacious interior that was comfortable to laze around if you wanted, air conditioning which was essential during the hot and muggy weather we had during our visit, the two kayaks and rowboat (though the latter should be retired soon), the sandy beach, a quiet lake (very few boats and only about six cottages in total on the mile long lake), the well stocked kitchen, the games and the high speed StarLink wifi. These items alone would make it a wonderful stay. However, one of the things we were really looking forward to was swimming in the lake - this did not happen. The water is brackish, weeds are everywhere and you really don't want to wade in given the very muddy, mucky shallow water. You couldn't even swim off of the dock (water too shallow) and there really wasn't anywhere else on the lake. Very disappointing. Communications was also an issue. I had to reach out to the owner the evening before we arrived to get access information. Again I had to reach out the evening before we left to find out the check out/cleaning procedure. There was no helpful guide in the cottage on tips for the property or things to do in the area. This is basic stuff that should be provided. We enjoyed our week. The weather was great and we made great use of the cottage, BBQ and kayaks. But it could have been better.

Getaway weekend

It was the perfect spot for a getaway weekend. Clean, great amenities available, awesome views. I would definitely recommend this spot and hopefully will be able to return for more great getaways.

Went up with the guys for a bachelor party. Very clean and had all the amenities. Beds were comfy, nice cottage with a big deck perfect for partying. Good size kitchen and dining room table with a nice bbq. Canoe and kayak awesome for getting out on the water and a nice little dock. Only downfall was swimming right off the dock but the rocks across the lake were perfect for that. About a 3-4 min canoe/kayak across that we did multiple times everyday. Small lake that is pretty shallow. Town is also very close. Less than a 10 minute drive. Overall we all enjoyed the weekend. Great value. Great host, very easy to communicate with

Everything you need

Lovely cottage on a small, beautiful lake. Some street noise but otherwise peaceful and calm. The cottage was fully stocked with all of the essentials, comfy beds, and beautiful views. 5 of us plus a dog fit more than comfortably and enjoyed the porch, grill, lake, and large main room.

Bring bug spray or tent

A really nice place and location. Unfortunately the horse flies were really bad and attacked my two dogs as soon as we stepped outside. Our tip of the day, we brought a portable gazebo with mesh sides that allowed us to sit outside on the deck. Without it we would have needed a big fan lol. Cottage is great with all the amenities and wifi that allowed us to stream movies if we wished.

Just as advertised!

We had an incredible Thanksgiving weekend away with family. The place was very clean upon arrival and was fully stocked with all our needs to cook over the weekend. The view was stunning and a very short walk to the dock and lake. The water was beautiful to swim in despite the soft bottom and Lilly pads. Cameron was an amazing host and we would not hesitate to recommend this place to anybody. Thank you for a great weekend!

Great Location for Golf

We stayed here for a golf holiday and we were very pleased with the accommodations. The cottage was very clean, well stocked, and we had no issues. There are lots of nice courses in the area if you are into golf. Would definitely recommend this property.

great family time

We very much enjoyed our stay at Cameron's cottage. The cottage was very clean. AC and Wifi work good. We spent a lot of time on the dock, used the canoe and did a lot of fishing and swimming. There is a little beach right in MacTier which is perfect for little kids. The cottage does not have a beach area. The host is quick with responding and problem solving. We only have positive things to say. We prefer to go to a different cottage every year but would have no problem to book this cottage again.

Wonderful spot

Great family holiday! Cottage was lovely and clean and well appointed for a much needed week away. Close to the town of MacTier for essential supplies. Lovely swimming spot and good lake for kids to paddle and adventure - it’s large enough for adventure, but small enough for adults to see the kids at at a distance at either end of the Lake :) Thankyou!

Great stay

Overall it was a great place for me and my friends to stay. Although we had fun there were a few issues: the A/C did not function properly and the cottage was hot during our stay and the windows did not have proper blinds which led us to be up earlier than we would have liked. Besides that it was a great place, Cameron is very accomidating!

Relaxing stay on Healy Lake

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Cam's cottage. It was exactly as advertised. Our dog loved the lake even though it was April. Look forward to heading back there some day.

Perfect getaway spot

Had a wonderful time at this cottage located in a quiet and peaceful neighbourhood. The place was tidy, equipped with all the basic amenities and a fully stocked kitchen. It’s quite spacious and perfect for a group of 6-8. Cameron was very helpful and responded quickly to all our inquiries. Would love to go back in summer and enjoy the amazing lake view again!!!

wonderful place and stay

Cameron was very easy to communicate with and very accommodating from beginning to end. The property was beautiful inside and out. It was a wonderful stay. Close to town where you could buy firewood and groceries and there was an LCBO as well. I Would love to come back especially in the summer. Thanks Cameron for everything!!
