The location is perfect. The view is amazing and the home is clean and cozy. We were surprised to see that the house was stocked with all the essentials. We will definitely be back.

Lovely House

We enjoyed this property. It is a pretty house, waterside, on a large property in a very quiet area. It is dog friendly and has a large deck. It did not have a hair dryer or a can opener. Inconvenient, as I haven't brought either to a rental in years..

From the owner: "Hi Jill, thanks for sharing your feedback! We're so glad you found the house to be fitting for your needs. You'll find the electric can opener mounted just under the cabinet by the stove— a little tucked away but easy to use when you need it. The hair dryer is kept in the master bathroom. If for any reason it’s not there, our maintenance team will make sure it’s taken care of promptly! We are sorry you had difficulty with that, but we hope to host you again for another peaceful retreat at our home!"

Property needs TLC

Overall ok, but this property needs a little TLC. Patio is rotting in some places and stairs to lake are closed off because they are rotted. So lake access and dock access are very limited. Not that you would want to swim in the water in front of this property because it is at the end of the canal and all the gas and oil from the boats accumulates in this spot so the water is kind of Gross. Roof leaks, toilet paper holder fell off the wall, no broom need more basic kitchen supplies. No paper towels and barely any toilet paper or trash bags. We spent most of our time at Lake Ouachita so we were there mainly just to sleep and prepare meals, so for that purpose it worked. I think this property has a potential to be great if it just had a little more TLC

Hi Sanjuanita, The homeowner takes the experience of their guests seriously, and they wanted to follow up on the items that you mention: - The staircase is blocked off due to some parts being damaged by the unusually rainy summer - The rest of the deck is safe, and the owner is having the entire deck replaced just as soon as a contractor is available - Guests can still easily access the lake by using the path from the door on the other side of the stairs - There is a cove by the home, not a canal, and gas/oil in the water has never been an issue - A brand-new roof was installed in November 2020 - The owner provides paper towels, toilet paper, and trash bags as well as a fully stocked kitchen We're confident that the owner will continue to provide 5-star stays for the travelers they host moving forward!

Property was as described, maintains was subpar, gutters were stopped up and leaking everywhere, outdoor patio shades were broken, the remote for the fan in the sun room did not work and the fan was on full blast and could not use the light - called the contact and he only responded by text that the remote was in a drawer, texted him again that the remote did not work and he never responded! Had to put batteries in the wall heater in the sun room, thermal-couple needs to be replaced in the wall heat in the master bathroom. No iron, not enough bathroom linen. I'm not sure I will use your services again if some compensation is considered.

Amazing views!

This place was amazing for our whole family. The views were amazing! And the location was also private and very peaceful without much noise. Bedrooms were good size, specially the master. We were able to accommodate all our meals at home and really enjoyed the place. Went to the hiking trails 15-20 minute drive and supermarket was only a 10 minute easy drive.

A home away from home!

House was very relaxing and exactly what we needed. The lake access/dock was convenient for our boat and just to let the kids swim! Owners did not bother us one bit our entire stay. Everything went smoothly would 10/10 recommend!

Family vacation

Absolutely loved our stay! The jets in the jacuzzi tub were not very strong but the whole house seemed to have low water pressure so i am sure that was all it was. We still enjoyed it. Our 6 yr old loved it. It was such a quiet location and so pretty. And we loved the ducks. We didn't catch any fish but it was nice to set on dock with a pole.

Dirty and not well equipped

Although we made the best of it, this property was a disappointment. The house was so dirty we don’t think any cleaning was done. We had to go to the store to buy cleaning supplies because they has none and immediately cleaned the bathrooms and kitchen. One of the bedspreads had a stain on it. I didn’t feel comfortable using anything without washing it. Shower didn’t drain well. The living room had two couches but no coffee table which meant we couldn’t easily play games or anything and because it was so dirty didn’t want to sit on the floor. Outdoor furniture was dirty and we had to wipe down quite a bit to sit on it. The location was great but as one family member said “it was a view of a skinny lake”. We did make the best of it but it was just disappointing how much we paid walking into a house that was so dirty.

Spacious and very comfortable

Very nice home away from home! Everything one needs is provided. Our only thing was would liked to have had more lake access. The cove was pretty but not a great swim area. However, we took a drive over to park on lake and had a good time!

Looks great until you come home with lice

The property looked nice when we get there; things seemed in order and clean except for drug pipe and baggies we found in the rafter. Main Bedroom ceiling fan didn't work so off to walmart we went when we were told it's on the "list of things to be fixed"... there went 70 dollars for a floor fan! Ice Maker had to be constantly messed with to work from the door. When we were reading the checkout instructions we noticed they didn't expect to us to put the pillow shams or comforters in the wash; they only wash the sheets after each guess and the other bedding once a. month! gross! When we got home one of my sons and his girlfriend discovered they had lice... so 150 dollars later for special shampoo and the trauma of having to deal with head lice was not a welcoming end to our vacation. I contacted vrbo via email asking if they would rectify the situation but no response via email. Will have to think twice about going with VRBO! :-(

Hi Ralph, thank you for your review. We wanted to pass along the following feedback from the homeowners: The home is serviced regularly by a pest control company and there is no evidence, nor has there been, of lice in the home. The home is cleaned top to bottom each time a guest leaves. It is our top priority to maintain an exceptionally clean, well-maintained property to contribute to a top experience for our guests. The owners also overnight in the home and have had no issues. We provide a maintenance contact for our guests to expedite the resolution of any issue that may arise and maintenance was never called. As for the other issues you mentioned, there was no evidence of any items in this complaint presented. Our property is a smoke free, drug free property. All furnishings, beds, flooring, and paint is less than one year old. We were not given a chance to discuss these matters with you because you did not report any issue to maintenance. We did not hear anything from you until two weeks after your stay. There was a floor fan already provided in the master bedroom. The fan in the main area has a remote that was sitting on the coffee table. Bedding is washed every time a guest checks out, and we have multiple sets for each bed. We are very conscientious with our property and strive for every stay to be as advertised.

Beautiful getaway

Family of 5 here and this property did not disappoint! Our kids age range from 2-8 and the water/setup was perfect. It was so relaxing drinking coffee in the sunroom and the balcony is perfect for eating pizza with the kids. We will for sure be back!!
