Ski-In-Ski-Out Condo at Taos just off the slopes. Large living area, with 40" smart TV with leather sofa seating and new recliner makes it easy for everyone to get comfortable. Family time, or us-time, you'll make yourself right at home.
Large living area with three sided fireplace, leather furnishings and wood floors. 2 bedrooms, one with bunks. Snow Bear is lucky to be one of the few locations to have ski in ski out on the lower front side of the resort, just a short slide on the ski-out trail or quick hike down the road to the Children's Ski school - Rio Hondo Learning Center will get you on the Rueggli beginner lift to the base of lift 1, or the enclosed gondola to the Base area which drops guests at the top of Sutton Place. Vail 1 is a wonderful location featuring a fully equipped kitchen, comfortable beds and one full bathroom.
Was not as cleaned as i expected, pictures on walls and some furniture were dusty, i liked i could communicate with owner with a fast response, didn't like the location
Great stay and great support from the property manager. The website needs to be updated. The property is a ski off property however due to construction the property is no longer a ski on property. That said great place to stay. Awesome location and great services. Beds super comfortable and the property was well equipped. Support staff and customer service was great.
We really enjoyed the ski condo. It was warm and cozy. It had everything we needed in the kitchen. Kids loved the bunk bed. Great location! It was just down the road from the ski school. My only complaint was the queen bed mattress had a dip in the middle. My husband and I kept rolling down and sunk into the middle of the bed and waking each other up. Other than that we loved it.
Greg the property manager was very responsive to our requests, like how to use the fireplace. The unit was very clean and comfortable for our family of five. The only thing I would not consider this property as easy ski in/out unless you ski down the roads, which can get muddy and rocky when the snow melts.
Instead just take a five minute walk down the hill to the Rio Hondo ski school, catch the gondola for free and your at the base of Taos. Waking home up the hill is a little harder after a full day skiing. Make sure you rent a locker for your entire stay at Taos Rentals for your snow boots storage while you ski, and store your skis there overnight. We would stay at this property again.
A few friends and I did a short trip to Taos to ski. We typically stay at a hotel in the village but it was booked up. So we found this place. Overall the place was perfect for us. Heater worked, bed was comfortable, kitchen was nice, wi-fi was decent. Having said that, it was not the easiest place to find, even with step by step instructions. Also if you plan on arriving late, the main parking lot fills up quickly, so you will likely need to park at the overflow lot. Second, while the ski area is within walking distance, it is not ski in and ski out. You are required to walk down a road. Not the easiest thing with ski boots.
Overall, it is a nice place and close to skiing, but it is not as easy as the listing implies.
The arrival and stay instructions from the property manager were thorough. Thank you for good communication upfront. When we arrived, the check in was easy. The property was clean for the most part. Some issues were reported to the property manager and the property manager fixed the issues quickly. I was surprised I needed to report those issues. Pros were: the condo was close to the ski village, it had a warm and comfortable living space, skiing on the mountain was great and the lines moved at a good pace.Cons were: the drive up the mountain to get to the condo was not fun (we had to install tire chains but this warning was provided), the mattresses were not comfortable, the ski village had limited access to groceries and such so bring everything you need before go up the mountain. I recommend that some new mattresses be purchased so everyone doesnât roll to the middle.Neutral comments: we did not need to do laundry so we don't have any feedback on that. The last item to report is that what I was charged by Vrbo was greater than the total invoice shown on Vrbo and no regund was received. So, I guess I won't choose this condo the next time.
This place was great! So close to everything and up a cute hill behind the fire station a little separated from the main village. The place had great furnishings and was comfortable.
The setting in Taos ski valley was amazing. The condo itself left some to be desired. To begin with, it is advertised as "ski in/ski out" which it definitely was not - at least not when we were there. It is only ski out if the learning center is open and you can catch the beginner lift to the main ski area, but the lift wasn't running so we weren't able to utilize that perk. Also, we couldn't figure out which cat track would have brought us back to the condo - so a highlighted map of which trail to take to get back would have been very helpful. The parking is extremely limited and inadequate snow removal made it even worse. The pictures of the place on VRBO do NOT match the actual living space that we arrived in. The kitchen does not have a nice island with chairs as pictured, but rather has a small table with 2 older chairs and 2 metal folding chairs. The baseboard heater in the bunkbed room does not work and left our guests cold. Also, when we first arrived and opened the door, there was a strong sewage odor that we thought might have been left behind by the recent water issues Taos had experienced, but upon further inspection found that a prior tenant had left unflushed feces and toilet paper in the toilet. Overall, the location of this property is nice because you do not have to leave the ski valley, but it is misrepresented in its advertising.
