River John - Updated - Under New Management - In Town - On the River - Fireplace
Boasting an unbeatable location perfect for both winter and summer getaways, this unit is a gem! Situated near the town ponds and adjacent to the river, it offers an idyllic setting for a weekend escape. Upon entering, you'll be welcomed by a cozy living room featuring a wood-burning fireplace. Moving through the first floor, you'll find a convenient half bathroom and laundry area in the hall, along with a well-equipped kitchen and a dining area that opens onto a shared porch. Upstairs, you'll discover two bedrooms, each with its own en suite bathroom. The queen bedroom showcases an upright shower in the bathroom, a private TV, and a balcony with views of the porch and river. The bunk room features a queen-sized bed and queen-sized bunk beds, with its balcony overlooking the ponds and the ski area in the distance. It is advisable to have a four-wheel drive vehicle during the winter season.
The location was perfect. We walked to the lifts and the town. only drove one time, to the Steakhouse at the end of town. mostly because the walk back would have been too cold. This house great for a family of four and dog. Plenty of fire wood was provided and the home was very clean. back porch is great and peaceful. backed up to the river and listening to it babble is wonderful background noise. Plenty of room for a family.Mattresses need some updating, not comfortable as my wife and I had a hard time sleeping. This is odd but, the toilets are tiny. I am not a large person and pretty average in size. hard time fitting everything into the toilet when sitting.the recliners in the living room are not working properly, and needing to be replaced. Seating for the living room should be increased, home has sleeping for 8 but not seating for 8.lastly, would recommend to have the wooden shelves removed from the bathroom and replaced with less porous material. we could see years of rings from many things on the shelves. It is really the only place to put things in the bathroom. Or, you could sand them and seall them to be wiped easily.great house for a family.
Wonderful stay. Only small issue was that some of the pots and utensils werenât clean/seemed very old and run down. Loved seeing the deer and ducks every morning and evening and this is a great, easy walk right to town. Will definitely stay again!
Loved this lil place on the river! Our home away from home. Perfect location on west edge of town, walking distance to lifts, Der Market and restaurants. Quiet hideaway even during busy music fest weekend. Older property that needs a lil attention to upper balconies but very clean. Great for couples or families. Hope RiverJohn is available next time we are in Red River.
The townhouse was nice. The stream flowing behind the house was so peaceful sleeping with the doors open. Handy for grandkids to fish. Parking a little tricky with a trailer. Would stay there again
The home was well used and in need of some TLC
Red river was hot. The home has no AC, no box fans to pull air in from outside, no screen on front door and the back door screen was ripped because the screen door does not open correctly. There may be very little insects but the doors being open means the critters can sleep with you. I had my tools with me and if I had a motor for the dryer, I could have repaired it myself in an hour. The wood rot by the bathtub would not get so bad if you would stay up with the caulking. We did not cook in the kitchen but coffee, hot tea, and microwaved leftovers. cleaning the dishware was a challenge in a dishwasher that would fall out when you load it. That is probably why the door is broken. This is about what I was expecting so I was not let down and we had a great time.
This place is great about 11 months out of the year but not in July. No ac like most in RR but we knew to bring our fans. No trees for shade so this unit gets super hot in the day, one night was 85 inside the west facing room. Screen doors all messed up so house full of bugs bc you have to leave open for air. The set up is great, big beds in guest room for kids with own shower. 1/2 bath down on ground floor is nice. Deck is good space with a nice gas grill. Not much parking especially a truck bc itâs a 3 plex. Need to park your trailer up by the park. If winter for sking this place and location would be hard to beat.
Very nice and cozy. Parking is very tight especially if there are others staying at the other 2 condos connected. Needs a few kitchen items such as hot pads and a large frying pan. We loved the back patio with access to the river behind the house.
Property was nice, clean and in a great location. It had most everything we needed in the kitchen. Beds were comfortable.
Could use some basic updates. Example -Shower head in bunk room needs replacing, handle came off of the oven and we had to repair it, front panel on dishwasher kept popping off, sliding doors would not lock. Internet and wifi were unreliable.
The condo comfortably accommodated our group of 7. The unit was clean and all amenities were as described. The back deck is right next to the river. The Platium lift and most restaurants are in easy walking distance.
It is beautiful there! We got to see the fall colors. I was able to fish off the deck in the river. The property was clean and comfortable! Will go there again.
Good location, beautiful views, great towels, responsive management.
However, we chose this property based entirely on the picture of an enclosed patio/deck where we could let our dog out. But it was not enclosed or private. We were told by neighbors that it had not been enclosed for over 10 years but the picture had never been updated. The footrests on the two recliners in the living room would not retract without straddling them to get up and pushing hard from the front - a real hazard for falling. One of the showers was terrible and the tub did not drain well. The kitchen light fixture was so dirty that the glass looked opaque.
