Location:

End unit 2-storey townhome we call "Big POW Chalet" in the Bears Paw 12 unit townhome complex (largest unit approx. 1457 sq. feet). Kettleview Rd is quiet, an easy walk across the road directly on to the runs (or ski to the door with snow). We are a short 5 min. walk up to the village/restaurants and literally next to the Plaza Chair (a good learner hill for kids or adults), Snow Ghost and Ridge Rocket chairs.

Why choose Big POW Chalet for your winter stay?

- Sleeps 8 with Ground Floor Queen bedroom and Ensuite plus Games Room with Twin over Twin day bed. Upstairs 2nd level has Queen Master Bedroom, an additional Queen bedroom plus a bathroom.
- Cozy fireplace with TV and 3 seater leather sofa plus 2 seater leather sofa.
- Fully stocked kitchen for cooking needs.
- Private single garage (fits SUV with roof rack or a F150 size) plus one additional reserved parking spot outside the front door
- Perfect for two families- you can sleep the kids downstairs and adults upstairs OR have one family up and one family down.
- End unit with many windows and views of trees and Monashee Mountains. You can view the weekly fireworks display from Happy Valley from our window
- Literally beside the Plaza Chair offers an additional hillside area for kids beside our unit to play in the snow
- Private 4 person hot tub on the 2nd level deck, you control the temp. We provide the hot tub maintenance (every 3 days) plus additional supplies in the garage for your use(YES hot tub is serviced all summer for great wind down after a bike or hike).
- Very clean townhome, visually inspected by Owner and cleaned prior to each guest stay (of course this includes freshly laundered duvets, throw blankets, bath mats, dish cloths, place mats, etc.). You will find white sheets and 100% cotton duvets. We go the extra mile for cleanliness- wipe light switches, lamp switches, room heat thermostats. Each season carpets are steam cleaned.
- We have been renting our townhome through VRBO for the last 3 seasons, we are experienced hosts who enjoy making your holiday special

What's included at Big POW Chalet?

- We supply a great deal of "extras" to make it comfortable for you including: week's supply of coffee/filters, sugar, tea, hot chocolate, popcorn, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, dish soap/dishwasher tabs, hand soap, laundry soap/dryer sheets, paper towels, kleenex boxes, spices, extra virgin olive oil
- You can find several games and darts/dart board (garage)
- There should be a Wii console and several games with extra batteries
- Folding lawn chairs for summer outdoor use or winter garage use
- Waxing station and iron (wax not supplied) in garage
- high speed internet, Big White Telus TV
- Bike stand in garage for summer use
- Private garage to keep your ski and snowboard gear secured
- BBQ with propane

Items to note:

-Being a townhome there is a set of stairs to reach the living room and kitchen on the 2nd level.
-There is a clean new playpen with sheet and highchair in the closet.
- Guests are not provided a code to the garage door opener but it's an easy walk to reach the garage from the townhome front door.
-Guests are provided a Wifi front door code prior to arrival.
-If the property is not in use prior to your stay, you will be notified by the Owner with flexible same day check-in and out times, where possible. Inquire with your Host.
- Inquire with your Host for inside tips on snowboarding or ski runs
-All of Big White uses electric heat. You control the temperature in each room with Wifi digital Mysa thermostats. Please do not leave the garage door open long with the heat on.
-Propane fireplace in the living room- costs to heat are covered in our monthly strata fees.
-There is no large garbage dumpster bin for Bears Paw Complex so guests leave their garbage in our garage in designated bins and Owner removes garbage and recycle to refuge transfer station.
-If you are sensitive to fragrances please advise your Host prior for non-scented laundered blankets, linens, etc.

The location of this town home was amazing with the ski in ski out access. The place was clean and welcoming. Hot tub was a great place to hang after a day of skiing. We're hoping to make it back!

Family trip of a lifetime

Our blended family wanted a place where we had enough space for everyone but where we could all come together as a family to enjoy our ski trip vacation. Marlena’s place did not disappoint. From the perfect location, to the comfortable sleeping arrangements and fully equipped kitchen we had everything we needed right where we needed it and we couldn’t have been more satisfied. This is our second time at this property and it has been clean and is a great ski-in ski-out location. The heated garage and two parking spaces are very convenient. It worked great for our family!

Just an awesome ski chalet with the best, super helpful and friendly host! The location for ski in/out is perfect. Great lounge and kitchen. We were 2 couples - so one upstairs, one down. Enjoyed the deck hot tub. We highly recommend this chalet and hope to return.

BW family getaway with grandma

Our multi-generational family had a great experience during our stay at Big Pow! The property was accurately described, the pictures portray the amenities very well. Exceptionally clean upon arrival; appreciative of many extra amenities including coffee, sugar, spices, popcorn & laundry supplies🙂The ski in/ ski out was very convenient- a bit of a hike to the village, but manageable. Very fun to watch & wave the skiers on the plaza chair right out the window. Communication was excellent with Marlena who sent a message as soon as the unit was ready for check-in; she also checked in with us mid stay. The only negative for us was the comfort of the beds- too soft for those of us with back problems who prefer a firmer mattress. I ended up taking the foam topper off the second upstairs bedroom for increased comfort. Overall a great unit, kids space on lower floor a bonus & owners very accommodating- would book the unit again.

All around amazing

Loved loved this Chalet ! The host is lovely and always responded to our?? right away. The location was perfect ,easy ski in, ski out and just a short walk to the village. This chalet is well equipped with everything you will need in the kitchen and the bathroom has lots of towels. The beds are super comfy. Supplies are plentiful and everything is labeled. When you are not skiing there is a games room with a Nintendo Wii lots of video games to choose from and plenty of board games . We would definitely stay again. Thank you so much for sharing your Big White home .

Our stay at the chalet was seamless from start to finish! The place is in a great location, ski in and out, short 7 minute walk to the village if you need anything, garage parking. The kitchen is well-stocked and the whole place has labels everywhere to find the thing you need! The kids loved the Wii ABS board games. The beds are comfy and warm. The hot tub is new and clean And chemicals are balanced! (No itchy skin!) Communication with Marlena was excellent And very quick. Book this one! Amazing stay on the mountain.

Amazing host and beautiful unit!

The property was immaculate when we arrived. It had everything we needed to prepare all of our meals and all of the linens were clean and spot free. Marlena was very helpful giving us ideas of where to take our kids to enjoy some activities and was very easy to talk to. Would absolutely stay again :)

Easy and fun

Second time staying at this condo. Easy access in winter or summer. Quick walk across street to disc golf. 5min peddle up hill or quick shuttle by vehicle to lift access mountain biking. Hot tub is great, nice view of the surrounding mtns and sunsets. No A/C but wasn't a problem for us. Cools off plenty at night.

Great Condo and Excellent Location

We had 7 adults stay here for a full week in early March 2022 and it was the first trip to Big White for most of the group (~20 years ago hardly counts). Upon arriving we were amazed how close and convenient everything was in regards to ski in/out and the Village Centre. Knowing the village is large at Big White as some properties can be a mile away, this was so nice. It had everything we needed and even covered most of the essential consumables. Marlena went over and above before and during our stay. Very responsive, friendly, and made us feel at home. We only had two minor gotcha's (not complaints) about the place. Firstly, the BBQ is on the smaller side and needs to be rolled out front. We used it once for some hot dogs. The second item would be the 4th room (guest/play room) would be more suitable for kids rather than adult(s). But these were not at all showstoppers. Overall, our group had a fantastic time and will certainly look to come back to the Big POW Chalet again!

Awesome ski vacation!

We really enjoyed our week long stay at the "Big POW Chalet". The unit was nicely furnished and the kitchen was set up well for cooking meals. The unit was clean and well maintained. Views and private hot tub are great. Also it's an end-unit and a townhouse so it was extremely quiet. The location was excellent for us, ski-in/ski-out access was quite easy and also the heated garage had space to store ski equipment. It is an uphill walk to the village though, (when the lifts aren't running) but we only did it a few times and it wasn't really a big deal. Overall we were very happy with this unit and would have booked it again were it available for this same week next year. The only thing that could have been better is that the mattress in the larger upstairs bedroom wasn't very comfortable. It worked out better for us to sleep in that room but the mattress probably was the least comfortable of all the rooms. I'd also add that Marlena was very friendly and checked-in with us multiple times. Overall a fantastic choice and we're likely to book the same unit again when we are back at Big White.

Very clean and well equipped. Uphill walk to village but close. Ski in/out was good. Heated garage was a plus. Communication with owners was the best I’ve experienced. Waiting till chairlift shuts down will give you better privacy in hot tub. Would definitely recommend this place.

Incredible Gift!

Our stay at Marlena's condo was nothing short of amazing. We had been incredibly busy leading up to our trip. Going to Big White and staying at Marlena's was the perfect get away and super therapeutic! We arrived after dark on a Sunday evening, (your GPS may try to tell you that you have arrived but you need to go a little further around the next corner before you are really there :)). The condo was warm and inviting. Every thing was set and ready to go. The boys loved the room with the Wii and popcorn! Our daughter and other son each had their own room, as did my husband and I. We loved the gas fireplace and being in the private hot tub when it was snowing outside was fabulous. The 'ski in and ski out' experience was very convenient. You walk across the street and ski right under the lift, down to a couple lift options. My daughter had no desire to ski this trip so she stayed in the condo all day doing work on her computer and just taking it easy. It was a wonderful break for her. It was also cool to ride past the condo on the lift and wave to her as we went by. Returning to the condo when we were done was easy also. I enjoyed walking to the village and going to the Tea Bar for tea and an Acai bowl. I am not much of an adventurous skier so Serwa was the perfect green run for me. My husband and the boys preferred the cliff and other more challenging runs. Big White met all of our different ski preferences, and Marlena's condo outdid every expectation that we had for our place to stay. We drove from Washington State and needed two cars for us and all of our equipment, it worked our perfectly that we were able to park both of our cars right there. We were able to keep all of our equipment in the warmth of the garage alongside one of the cars. All of the rooms have their own temperature control. The fireplace provided great heat as well. The kitchen was beautifully supplied with all of the dishes, appliances and utensils that we needed. Bathrooms were very clean and convenient, never ran out of hot water, even when we all showered. There were plenty of towels to shower with and for after using the hot tub. There is a washer and dryer conveniently located near the kitchen. We have absolutely no complaints! Marlena was very kind in every way and she made our stay very easy. I do recommend following Marlena's advice and getting groceries before you head up the hill! This was a great experience and we will be back! Thank you Marlena!!

We have been coming to Big White in the winter and summer for the past four years and just love the mountains and amazing family vibe at Biggie! August 2021 we re- located from Saskatchewan to the Kelowna area. We are excited to build traveler reviews on VRBO for upcoming seasons. Brent works in Supply at BHP (an Australian mining company) and Marlena is an independent HR Consultant. We are easy to deal with and honest people. We have good reliable contractors on-mountain. We inspect our townhome to ensure it has been cleaned to high standards before you arrive. We are very clean and organized and updated (2019) the town home with some new furniture, linens, kitchen ware, hot tub, paint, etc. We have two buys who love the mountains. Our place is perfect with 4 bedroom, garage, easy walk to village/restaurants, views from hot tub and quick access to the lift. Our boys are downhill mountain bikers in the summer and we love Big White in the summer. Marlena and Brent are known to hike often at Big White and in the Kelowna area.
