Linga-Longa Lakeside Retreat

Warm, sunny and cosy Lockwood 3 bedroom house with 1 bathroom, separate toilet and laundry. Off street parking with very short walk to lake. House is well appointed with a full well equipped kitchen including a dishwasher. The kitchen, living and dining areas are open-plan and include a full dining table and breakfast bar with stools. Lounge, kitchen and master bedroom boast stunning lake views. Bedrooms include a queen bed, 2 single beds and a set of single bunks. The queen bed, 2 singles and bottom bunk all have electric blankets. Additional duvets and blankets are provided. There is a sofa in the lounge and additional linen is in the linen cupboard. The house is heated by an efficient log fire and a thermostatically controlled heater making is warm and cosy. A BBQ and outdoor furniture is provided. Sky TV (with sports channels) is provided. A high chair and portacot may be available for your use. Please let me know when you book if you require them so I can reserve them for you.

Good quality linen is provided free and all beds will be all made up for you on arrival with freshly laundered sheets, pillow cases and duvet cover. Please note bedding on all beds inc duvet covers etc is changed and washed after each booking. Linen includes all bedding, towels, face clothes, tea towels, dish clothes etc. A few Pre-loved beach towels are available to help you make the most of the lake. Pantry staples are provided free for your convenience as are a comprehensive range of cleaning products. Toilet paper, handy towels and consumables eg glad wrap etc are all provided for your use.

Children are welcome. A few games are provided for their entertainment.

Whareroa is a beautiful little village on the south west edge of Lake Taupo in the Central plateau region. This area is very central to many areas of interest. Amenities at Whareroa include a boat ramp, ski lane, designated swimming area, children’s play area, tennis court and a free waste transfer station. The streets are all linked by walkways which allow for quick and easy access to the lake. Fishing is good and you can fly-fish at the mouth of the Whareroa Stream. Fishing licences and ramp permits are available for purchase online.

Whareroa is within 30 minutes of some excellent restaurants thus allowing all various budgets, tastes and celebrations. The closest general store is at Omori. Whakapapa is under an hour away as is Taupō. Turangi and Taumarunui are approx 25 and 45 minutes respectively.

Apart from lake activities Whareroa is close to many walking and cycling tracks of interest and cater for all abilities. The area is well-known for bush walks. Whareroa boasts spectacular cliffs. The Tokaanu Thermal Pools are nearby and the Tongariro Crossing is 40 minutes away.

Minimum stay is 2 nights. Discounts are available: 5% for stays of 7 nights or more and a rate for rental of a month (30 days) or more is negotiable.

Bach is a non-smoking area.
Cleaning Fee: $80. In line with bach rentals practices the property must be left tidy, dishes in dishwater etc. This fee allows you to not have to spend your time cleaning prior to your departure to leave it in pristine and sparkling condition.
