Machiya Cottage was indeed charming. This home was filled with charming pieces from yesteryear like a singer sewing machine and beautiful paintings. The home was filled with character and comfort which made us feel totally at home. The private garden was so beautiful. I enjoyed picking herbs from the garden to garnish our dinner. So relaxing. We will be back.
This is a beautiful place to stay.
We visit Melbourne quite often and it is just down the road from my son and his wife. It's comfortable, clean and so welcoming.
We really enjoyed our stay at Susanâs cottage. It was a perfect location for visiting our family and very comfortable.
Lovely quirky decor. Great host
Highly recommend
Thank you.
A great little retreat ideal for a couple or single person. Totally self-contained with everything you need for your stay. Great friendly host and more than happy to assist with any queries.
Delightful, very comfortable, a little quirky, Susan and Greg very friendly and helpful, would stay there again if were weren't moving house to live in the neighbourhood.
We had a wonderful time at the house. It was very homely and had everything we needed. It was really close to walk to the beach and shops as well.
Susan also had left us some cheese, strawberries, biscuits and chocolate which was a lovely touch.
We would happily stay here again
We spent five nights here and chose the locations as it was equidistant from the various family members we planned visit and also close to the beach. The cottage was comfy and the host friendly and helpful. Very convenient off street parking right outside the door.
Lovely eclectic cabin with great finishing touches
great coimmunication and wonderful host, lovely finishings and high quality towels and other touches like vase of fresh herbs. Bathroom not next to bedroom just to set expectations but great spot, lovely eneregy and very comfortable.
We enjoyed everything about this property from the host to the lovely garden and cottage. It was all that we could have wished for. Would love to come back soon. Worth a trip all the way from western Canada. Highly recommend to everyone.
We loved staying here, every little detail of the decor was beautiful and her plants were so wonderfully loved. There was a lovely surprise in the fridge but we didnât get a chance to enjoy. We would definitely stay here again if we were staying in the area Thanks Susan â€ïž
Such a delightful, cosy, little nest. The hosts have provided absolutely everything you could need during a stay - and more. Spotlessly clean and lovingly filled with happy, healthy indoor plants - the cottage has a very welcoming atmosphere. Close to cafes, train station, beach, walks - great location. Would gladly stay again.
The Machiya was exactly what we needed! Old world eclectic charm with all the amenities necessary to make your stay pleasant! Aldi is just around the corner and we picked up some dinner kits that were delicious! We checked out the wineries in the Mornington Peninsula and of course enjoyed swimming and sunbathing at the beach which was close by! Susan surprised us with some happy hour goodies and a beautiful arrangement! The gardens here are stunning and the Jasmine was in full bloom and smelled wonderful! We had breakfast one morning out in the garden area! This place is a beauty! Great value, great hosts, great beach!
I would have to say that this is the nicest place I have ever stayed in. The cottage is just so well appointed and welcoming. It is perfectly clean and very well presented. The host was so lovely to deal with. The garden is beautiful too. I will be back.
