The Sunshine Suite est un studio romantique situé dans le MEILLEUR emplacement de Kailua. La meilleure partie est de simplement descendre une voie de plage privĂ©e et en moins de 2 minutes, vous serez Ă  Kailua Beach, qui est la plus belle plage du pays! C'est gĂ©nial pour les enfants. L'eau est calme puisqu'il y a un rĂ©cif de corail Ă  1 km du rivage, oĂč les vagues se brisent. Vous pouvez faire de la plongĂ©e, nager, faire du kayak ou simplement marcher sur la plage pendant des heures. Vous pouvez Ă©galement regarder le soleil se lever le matin sur l'ocĂ©an et la lune se lever le soir. C'est vraiment Ă  couper le souffle!

Kailua Beach, 2 friends

This unit was selected for location across from beach. Entry to unit is awkward as you walk thru another unit’s lanai. The property was listed as ‘sleeps 3’, but there is only a double bed and fold-out pad for the floor. Wicker furniture provided limited clean area to prepare food and the sink was in bathroom. Pool was lovely.

Amazing location!!

We had a great time staying at this property! We enjoyed the hot tub every night, and the very short walk to the beach. Also, some of the best coffee in town is in walking distance as well at the market. Also, they were very nice for a quick bite as well. We loved every second of staying here, I would come again!!

Kailua Rental

We loved our time at the Kailua rental. The apartment is right across the road from Kailua Beach and a short drive to Lanikai Beach. The snorkeling at Lanikai is excellent. We also swam at Kailua most days. The rental has all the beach amenities you could need. Also,Buzzes restaurant is a short walk as well as a local store and delicious shaved ice.

Steps to the beach.

Stayed in the sunshine suite. Just big enough for two people but worth it for the location. Toes in the water in 5 minutes. Kailua town is fun too.

Small apartment style lodging. Plus features: Quite, private, good location. Negative features: Lots of plates and kitchenware but NO sink. Any home cooking has to be on the gas grill. Sleeps 2 on the bed, but any more is on an air mattress.

Stay in windward side of Oahu

It was a challenged finding accommodations in Kailua area or nearby city in windward side of Oahu. But I am very glad to have found this hidden oasis. For a couple, the Sunrise suite is perfect, no kitchen or stove but has microwave and fridge which is enough for us. We loved walking across the street to Kailua beach park watching sunrise and swimming in the morning. Lanikai beach is also walking distance from this property for a more calmer waves, parking might be a challenge to find. The pool is available to use at this property, has beach chairs. Short drive to town’s Target and other shops. Can also hike to nearby Lanikai Pillbox. Overall experience was pleasant and wonderful. Property manager Zack, were helpful giving detailed instructions and directions, and owner Steve were also pleasant to speak with.

Worth every penny!

My wife and I used to live on Oahu and had low expectations for cleanliness of the Vrbo and mostly cared about the location. Well we were SO pleasantly surprised by how incredibly clean the room was and it was very spacious. The bed was soft and comfortable and there were plenty of extra blankets if needed. We sleot comfortably at night with the fans and AC unit, and the hosts left us plenty of towels for our week’s stay. There are also beach chairs that we used all week. We loved being so close to Kalapawai market and Kailua beach. Also— this is BIG for Hawaii, we did not see one cockroach ! 10/10 for cleanliness. We would love to stay here again!

Location, location, location

Cute unit literally across the street from one of the best beaches in all of Hawaii. (Bed is very soft, which is good for some & bad for others). Unit is small but well equipped unless you intend to do major cooking. Has AC but in Nov., the lovely winds were more enjoyable way to cool off. Pool is wonderful; clean, well lit and great size for times you want a dip or something different than ocean. Plenty of grocery stores and restaurants within 5-10 min drive. Nice off street parking. Nice owners! We definitely recommend this unit.

Great Location

I want to start by saying that this place's location is perfect, right across the street from Kailua Park and a 2-minute walk to Buzz's Restaurant. The place is small but comfortable. I didn't realize there was no kitchenette, but we made it work. The owner was downstairs and very nice and helpful. He had chairs, umbrellas, two bikes, and everything you need for a beach day. The only two things I have to mention is that the parking is quite tight. I rented a small Corolla and still had a little problem. If the other groups have large cars, then parking is a little tough. Not impossible, just a little tight. The second and the most bothersome part is the amount of little bugs. We think they are little ants. They are everywhere. We never got bit, but just annoying. This bug problem was from day one. We didn't dare eat in the room thinking this would make the problem worse. We still enjoyed our trip to one of the most beautiful places in the world, Kailua and Lanakai Beach.

Truth in advertising, not so much

This is a studio not a “one bedroom.” Only sink is the bathroom one. No tub or way to keep dishes and bathroom activities separate. Air conditioner is too loud to be used. Bathroom has no hooks. No way to hang wet towels or bathing suits. Ugliest possible artificial plants abound. The pool has a very small jacuzzi that only the owners know how to start. There is another unit posted as 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, no mention that the “2nd” bathroom s downstairs by the pool no relationship to the actual unit. It is directly across the street from the awesome Kailua beach. That is the saving grace.

A Decent Stay Overall

I'm struggling to review this property. The listing is accurate, and the owners are honest in regards to the pros and cons. Both were responsive to texts and VRBO messages. The room, though small, was adequate. The main reason I deduct a star was due to how hot the room was. It was humid in Hawaii and, thus, difficult to keep the apartment cool even with the A/C unit and both fans on high. The worst part is that I was jet lagged the first day and sick (weak stomach), and the heat made that situation worse. The location was convenient for us as we wanted to be near the wedding party we travelled with. It was very close to really pretty beaches and enough food options to enjoy a variety. It was also way less crowded than the Honolulu side which was a blessing when driving. Considering rental options are slim on that side of the island, I understand the high nightly price. Still, it's difficult to give rave reviews when I've stayed in immaculate 3BR beachfront condos with full kitchens, multiple swimming pools, and various amenities for the same price, even less, in Florida. You really do not get enough bang for your buck here. Because of this, I cannot give 5 stars, BUT it is still an accurate listing for this rental, and the beaches nearby are gorgeous! The property owners were kind and helpful, as well. The beach supplies were also a very nice touch, and so were the toiletries they provided. As long as you know what to expect, you will not be disappointed!

Not as Described - Not recommended

I don't understand all the 5 stars given to these properties, unless reviews get filtered. The only nice aspect of this property is the location, cross the street from the beautiful kailua Beach. It is not even a studio, it is a queen bed hotel room. There is no even a sink to wash the breakfast cups or glasses, you need to use the bathroom sink. There is only a refrigerator and a microwave. There isn't countertop, it is so tight, that it is hard to even prepare a coffee in the morning and put some plate to have breakfast. Then there is no private patio or balcony where you can have a drink or coffee in the morning, since there is no table inside either, and you have to walk through someone else patio to go down the stairs. So, no privacy. Then, you need to go through a very messe garage to get out and reach your car. We had a chair next to the front door that disappeared half way our stay and none one even had the kindness to tell us. We won't go back for sure, we do not recommend this property, and I think we are done using VRBO if we cannot trust the reviews and end up with something so different from what expected.

Can't say enough good things about this place!The check-in process was very easy and accurately explained in advance of our arrival. The unit is exactly as described and spacious enough for two people (we stayed in the "Sunrise Suite"; there are several other units in this property).Parking is provided on-site (which is important). The pool and hot-tub are incredible (and an amazing way to spend time while doing laundry in the provided washer & dryer).The property is literally steps from Kailua Beach, an AMAZING beach away from all of the throngs of tourists in Waikiki.Kailua itself is amazing, with tons of great restaurants (Buzz's Steakhouse is walking distance and the Kalapawai Market, a great place to get your morning coffee, is about 1/2 mile away).We loved the place so much that we extended our stay (and just cancelled our reserveration in Waikiki). And Zak & Susan made it super-easy (great communication).Oh, and the sunrises across the street could be postcards! (see the included picture)I guess the only thing to point out is that this is NOT Waikiki (a great thing in my opinion!), which is about 30 minutes away by car.Overall, I'd give them six stars if that were available.

The parking situation was horrendous!! Young boys in the downstairs front unit were crawling all over our rental car parked cockeyed in the garage!! There needs to be a better, more convenient parking space for all the tenants..just impossible to get in and out..all the tenants were complaining! Loose toilet paper holder, light bar in bathroom not working properly and ants even in the bathroom! We enjoyed the pool and TV but parking and exiting were HUGE obstacles!!

Steve and I lived in Colorado for 10 years and had our first child. She was 3 months premature and weighed in at a whopping 1 pound!! When she turned one, she weighed almost 10 pounds. Her doctor said that she would grow if we moved her to a warmer climate.. that it was difficult for her to maintain a 98.6 degree body temperature without burning so many calories.

So, we moved to Hawaii.. with $500 in the bank and our little daughter. That was in December, 1979. And here we are 40 years later.

Our daughter has since married and moved back to Colorado and had two beautiful daughters. We had our son after moving to Hawaii. He married his high school sweetheart, and they now have 2 sons.
There's more to the story, so come and stay with us to hear the rest. We love our guests and have many repeat visitors to our lovely rentals.

We bought our house before it became a vacation rental. We owned a small travel agency and people were always asking if there was anywhere to stay other than Waikiki. So we decided to rent out some rooms in our home to accommodate our clients and to make a little extra money. There were no hotels in our town and the beach was just gorgeous. Little did we know that Kailua would become such a B&B mecca.
