House was beautiful in a great location on the river. Great gathering place for our family. With that said, the house is definitely in need of maintenance and repair. A lot of things are broken, the yard is not maintained and the dock is very rickety.

The pool was nice. The view watching dolphins was awesome. The stove had to be lit with a lighter which feels dangerous. Broken faucets. Missing light bulbs everywhere. Just needs some updates. Also in pictures yhw fountain out front is working and lit up and was not working at all when we were there.

The host was welcoming, and the house is GORGEOUS! It's getting a bit run down, though. The pool was not full, causing the fountains to not work. The stove in the kitchen only has one burner that works, barely. They all run on such a low flame, and was very difficult to cook on them. But the house was clean and inviting. The beds were unbelievably comfortable, and it was everything for a perfect weekend getaway. Thank you!

Lovely time!

The home was perfect for our large family vacation. It was clean and the bedrooms were comfortable. There are 8 nice size bedrooms. 5 of them were very spacious. The house looks exactly like the pictures. Beautiful scenery! Gene was attentive from booking through the stay.

Perfect Riverside Getaway

We recently stayed at this wonderful property by the river, and it exceeded our expectations! The location is absolutely stunning, providing a serene and peaceful environment. We spent hours just enjoying the view and the tranquility of the water. The property itself is well-maintained and comfortable, with all the amenities we needed for a relaxing stay. The owner was incredibly helpful and attentive, making sure we had everything we needed throughout our visit. We highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a perfect getaway!

The sheets/comforter was dirty, the pool wasn't clean, the jacuzzi wasn’t filled up (the owner had to come to the home on two of our vacation days), the freezer was left open which caused water on the floor, the house air wasn’t on before arriving (turning it down to get cold made it freeze up, so we had to sit in heat), the upstairs water wouldn’t get hot, and we didn’t have WiFi on the downstairs living room television.

My Family members who traveled from New Orleans, LA and Jackson, SC to attend my daughter’s wedding at Epping Forest Yacht and Country Club were amazed and delighted to stay in this magnificent home. It was beautiful inside and the courtyard was stunning. The master bed and bath on the first floor was so stately. Highly recommend!

Beautiful Getaway Spot

The pictures just doesn't do the property justice! We had a group of 12 and still had plenty of space for more. Great space for entertaining, inside and outside. Can't wait to visit during the spring or summer to fully enjoy the pool area. I'd definitely recommend to family and friends!!!

Amazing Italian Villa!

House was stunning! Pool was great. The gardens back to the river dock were an adventure. Did see dolphins. Location within 45 minutes of airport, several beaches and St Augustine. Our whole family celebrated a 50th anniversary and all ages had a great time. The host was very responsive, all features of the house are top of the line and our stay was just like being in Europe.

Beautiful home and property, which worked out fine for our weekend family reunion. Host was responsive when we requested help or had questions. Unlike other vacation homes we’ve stayed in, there was quite a bit of deferred maintenance in the home. Carpets were stained, decor is cluttered and outdated, bedding was old, blinds were broken, sliding glass doors didn’t work smoothly and there were dead bugs around the sliding glass doors, a hornet’s nest outside one of the upstairs bedrooms, hairdryers were missing in the bathrooms, towels were thin and there weren’t enough towels for everybody, tissues weren’t in the tissue holders, one of the kitchen sinks was broken, the pool and pool deck area was dirty, and the hot tub never started working, even after the home manager came by to work on it. Written instructions on the Wi-Fi, how to use appliances, such as coffee, makers, and the checkout process was nonexistent. The location was fine for our family though. We knew that it was a little distance from downtown Jacksonville. With that said I would not consider this to be a prime vacation location. Regardless, our family from 4 different states still enjoyed getting together in this central location. The home was large enough for all of us.

Amazing property

This house is incredible and has everything you need. From the dock hanging over the river, to the fully loaded kitchen, and much more, this house makes you feel special. The older theme really makes this place feel warm and comfortable. Plenty of space for 8 guys on our yearly golf trip. The pool and hot tub are awesome. Would head back here in a heartbeat if I ever return to Jacksonville. Thanks Gene!

The Manse on the River

The property manager was very responsive to our needs, i.e. the microwave did not work the first day we arrived and the property manager brought another one over the very next day. Additionally, we requested more towels and he also brought them over right away. The property is clean with very beautiful gardens. It was the perfect place for our family to gather to celebrate my Husband's 75th Birthday!!!!!

Golf House

Our annual (8 golfers) golf trip took us to Jacksonville this year...3 rounds of golf (TPC Sawgrass Dye's Valley, Punta Vedra Inn & Club, Deerwood CC) all about 30 minutes from the house. Also attended Georgia-Florida football game on Saturday...stadium is very close to the house. The house worked out great for our needs. It would have been nice if the pool was heated, however.

Golf Trip in Jacksonville

A group of 8 of us came down to Florida in February to play some golf at local courses. We had the pleasure of staying at Gene's house for President's Day weekend. Absolutely fantastic spot. Fit 8 adult men comfortably and the kitchen area was the primary hangout spot. Just a great spot to watch some TV, have a few cocktails, cook some good food and share a bunch of laughs. Thank you Gene for opening your property to us. We will be back!

All I can say is WOW!

This property's online pictures do NOT do it justice. It was like someplace out of a movie! Elegant, sexy, opulent, tranquil, and the list goes on. I spent my take conducting a whole photo shoot in every section of this house. Oh and the gardens beyond the pool! Wow! That's all that I can say. Thank you so much for allowing me and my family to stay in your beautiful mansion!

Beautiful home

Spent the weekend away with friends and family for our friends 40th birthday. This house was absolutely stunning. The kids felt like they were in a mansion. They all had a blast. The pool and garden on the river was my favorite. I could sit outside all day, there only a couple small issues. Nothing major the Internet upstairs wasn’t connecting For the kids to watch TV but we ended up making it work. Everything was fully stocked and the house was clean upon arrival. The gas oven knobs didn’t work to well they fell off a couple times might want to check the range out. Thank you for letting us borrow your home for the weekend we enjoyed every minute.

Pictures are out totally outdated!!

Would not stay again….the pictures are clearly outdated!!! Pool was green/slimy clearly not heated!! Hot tub water was sulfur smelling and stagnant. The koi pond had no koi, was disgusting with nothing but insects hovering over and in it. Landscaping has not been maintained…weeds coming thru stamped pads, over grown as you attempt to walk to dock. Fire pit is full of yard debris with weeds growing in it. Patio furniture was broke, ripped. There was not enough for the amount of guests. The stove is still broke requiring you to light with lighter, dryer broke, host never responded to any of our concerns. We had to contact him for WiFi password/pool/hot tub instructions. There was no welcome packet with any info about property. The beds had wrappers/garbage under them. Dirty sheets on upper coaches. Counters were dirty, balconies had matches and cigar butts, wasp nests galore. Host never responded to our concerns. We had to hang dry our clothes outside to dry due to broke dryer. Much of the decor was broke and either glued back together or simply placed back together. We booked out in October for the whole week, had to hound host day before for checkin process. Host simply sent door code nothing else. The owner needs to do a complete walk through inside and out. He shouldn’t be able to post or advertise what’s listed. We were unable to enjoy the heated/clean pool we all thought we were going to.

Wedding stay!

Great time at this really unique home! We rented this house for family and friends to use for a week for our Navy son’s wedding. There is a king master suite on the first floor along w a second room w a double bed. Upstairs there is a single twin bedroom and another king master suite, and three queen bedrooms. There is also another full sitting room with a large screen TV and bar area on the second floor. We really enjoyed this house, quiet neighborhood, the hot tub was great, the pool was too cold for me, but it was March. FYI the best way to communicate w the owner is through the VRBO app.

Beautiful house but......

Willing to give 3 stars because the house did look like the pictures however, the jacuzzi tub in the master wasn't working or if it was there were no direction to tell us how to work it...we had several issues with the cable and internet in the house(which only got resolved in the livingroom after a whole day) kids with no internet....horrible when everything they have run off of it, there were atleast 2-4 wasp nest on every balcony(told owner and noone came to fix it like we were told) beautiful kitchen but the stove had to be lit with a lighter each time used....there was items in the kitchen that were expired...found one from 2006 (dont worry i threw it away)...owner never followed through on the wasp nest, internet and t.v...beds slept really good though but for the amount of money we shouldnt have to go a whole day without watching anything
