Turtle Shack est situé près de la plage dans la charmante communauté de bord de mer Sea Tern, juste au nord de Duck Village. Amenez votre famille avec votre ami à quatre pattes pour un moment de qualité. Détendez-vous, créez des souvenirs et profitez de la plage dans un cadre idéal.

La maison est très spacieuse à l'intérieur et offre une bonne vue sur l'océan depuis le pont supérieur et la grande salle. Cuisine joliment meublée et très bien équipée. La salle à manger peut accueillir 8 personnes et la cuisine dispose de 5 tabourets de bar. Le porche filtré à l'extérieur fournit une table à manger pour 4. Détendez-vous au bord de votre piscine privée ou faites une promenade rapide jusqu'à la plage, située à seulement 100 mètres.

Sea Tern possède une plage privée et un accès facile. Il est idéalement situé à proximité du centre-ville de Duck et du parc Duck Town. Les aménagements du parc comprennent une promenade sur le bord du son, un amphithéâtre, une rampe de lancement publique pour le kayak / canoë, un abri pour pique-nique, une aire de jeux, un kiosque, des sentiers de randonnée et des événements estivaux. Un sentier polyvalent de sept milles de long, situé du côté est de Duck Road, offre aux visiteurs un lieu de loisirs pittoresque et sûr. Les piétons, les cyclistes et les patineurs à roues alignées partagent le sentier des canards.

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This house was okay. The pool was very nice and I felt it was clean upon arriving. Also not a bad walk to the beach access. But, there were so many things that should be taken care of before guests arrive. There were screens out of the windows, no batteries in the tv remotes, no toaster in the kitchen, the ottoman in the living room was ripped and hanging off. I doubt I’d rent this place again.

Reviewer Comments: The property is in a great location and it was nice to have the pool as well. The beach is just a short walk away and there is easy access to walking trails as well. Our stay could have been improved if the house had been cleaned better. Perhaps because we stayed at the tail end of the season it explains some of the excess dirt but the house could really use a thorough cleaning. There was a solid build up of dust on the Hvac return in the bedrooms level, you could see where someone attempted to dust the entertainment section but only swiped half of it, and there was dog hair on the floor and furniture that was not vacuumed.

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Overall the house was nice. There were a few things that need to be addressed. The top floor sliding door lock is broken and looks like it has been for a while. The showers have straight heads on them and don’t make for a pleasant shower. Also the one master bath has a broken stopper so you can’t use the tub, only as a shower. The cleaning was questionable as we found dog hair under the furniture. I hate to be critical but when you spend that amount of money you hope for a little more. These kinds of problems are rare as I haven’t experienced them with other homes rented through Beach Realty.

Turtle Shack lives up to its name

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We arrived on Sunday the 1st. We were met by members of the cleaning staff who told us the carpet cleaners would be there Tuesday. Upon entering the house we discovered multiple issues. On the bedroom area there issues. One bedroom had a bifold closet door off the track. The hallway bathroom had mold on the shower curtain. The bunkbed room carpet stain of unknown origin. The deck on that level had one of the 2 chairs cracked. The top level had issues as well. There was rug on the deck containing dog feces. The window beside the television showed evidence of water damage. I could write my name in the dust on the television stand. If you walked barefoot on the carpet in the GREAT Room you left dusty footprints on the vinyl floor. The half bathroom on this floor had a dental floss stick on t h e floor. The house came with a charcoal grill. Unfortunately only 1 of the 2 handles were connected which resulted in $60 worth of swordfish falling into the sand. The house has great view and pool. I stayed home all day Tuesday waiting for the cleaners who never came at all. Another realtor had a rental available Saturday in Corolla. Beach realty was closed in Duck but had an office in Corolla which I reported to Lawerence since their app never worked. I also emailed them. I got an email on the 8th saying they would be in touch. I got this survey on the 9th. It is 310 on the 10th and I never heard back so I'm filling out the survey

We love the location, the house is well-equipped, the new sun room really makes the living space feel larger and the management company is very responsive--missing towels were delivered in minutes. We plan to stay here again in the future. My only complaint is that closet and bedroom doors are not cut to accommodate carpet making them very difficult to open and close at times.

Family Vacation at Turtle Shack

The house is nestled in a very nice beach neighborhood. Turtle Shack is a beautifully designed home with pretty updated furniture to make it very comfortable and relaxing. It is large enough and layed out so perfectly that a large family may spread out. There were no signs of any pets from the previous visitors but speaking of pets what a perfect spot Turtle Shack is for them. It has a nice side yard along with the earlier mentioned neighborhood. Restaurants and shopping are not far away from this spot. Our only complaint is the housekeeping specifically in the kitchen. We were shocked by what we found in the garbage disposal but our call to the rental office was responsive. Except for a few dirty dishes found on the shelf and the dirty bath mats the rest of the house was spotless. We would not hesitate to return next year and hope to do so! Turtle Shack was a great find.

Nice property with good amenities. Very clean and laid back. Appeared recently updated, 1 min walk to beach. Note, this portion of outer banks has experienced severe beach erosion. Hopefully dune restoration is planned.

Reviewer Comments: The house was very cute inside and a very close walk to the beach. I have to say outside was another story. This home is dog friendly. The entire yard was filled with some kind of long, sticky briars that stuck to our dog's fur and skin. Very painful to remove for her and for us. A simple weed whack of the premises would prevent this from happening. No real play area for children as well. No blankets or top sheet for beds. Floors left our 20 month old with dirty feet. Rugs could use a cleaning as well. Close to beach, but would not stay here again.

Cleanliness was a major issue

We ended up booking this house Thursday-Sunday. That really only gives you Friday and Saturday because of check in/out. If I was staying any longer than that, I would have complained on the spot about the cleanliness of the house. Every surface is covered in dust, grime, or hair. You're probably thinking that it's because this is a dog friendly house, but I'm not talking about dog hair. In the age of COVID, and being that I'm pregnant, this really bothered me. Not only that, but there was still some urine on the toilet seat from the last guest. I would maybe expect this from using VRBO to rent from an owner, but through a real estate agency I'm pretty shocked. Especially for the money paid for the house. I had to go in and clean up for the first hour or so that we arrived and then resist cleaning the whole house. It just made it very hard to relax. Other than that, the sliding glass door to master bedroom 1 doesn't latch, so sleeping at night with no sense of security was a bit of a bummer too. I've been going to OBX since I was five years old and this was my first experience like this. Love OBX, but won't be returning back to this house.

Vacation Turtle Shack

Great Escape!

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Beautiful, comfortable house. Very clean and well maintained. Easy walk to the beach~ close enough to hear the surf. Quick drive into Duck. Would have liked screens on the windows so we could have had them open~ but it may have been too early in the season. Would definitely come back!

Spring beach vacation

Amazing beach trip!

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was very happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The location of the home is perfect - just a short walk to the beach and the Sea Tern community is pretty spread out so the beach itself wasn't too crowded. The pool at Turtle Shack is awesome and gets much needed shade at different parts throughout the day. Upstairs living area and kitchen is very spacious and the recent upgrades to the house are nice.
