Excellent place to stay for a large group

The place was as advertised and adequate for our large group of about 18-19 people. Check in process was easy and our group enjoyed our stay. The place had a large open kitchen and a large dining area. The backyard was large for kids to play badminton and soccer. If you are looking for a quiet place for a large group in Southern Vermont, give this place a consideration.

8 adults and 10 kids had an awesome time in this home. Beautiful, spacious, clean, and perfect for our extended family vacation. This is our sixth year going on vacation together and the best house we’ve rented. We plan to return!

Great house! One suggestion: instruction for the TVs. Steph tried to be helpful and said she would reach out to the owner, but we never received a response - disappointing!A few things missing, e.g., only a few coffee mugs available to use. No remote for living room TV. Sound system did not work and no instructions to guide us. We are a very tech savvy crew, so I can’t imagine how future guests would figure out the TV and the sound.Otherwise, we had a fantastic stay! Thank you.

Family Ski Weekend

Conveniently located spacious and comfortable home. Perfect for our large family…with discreet spaces for children and adults. Kitchen well appointed for cooking. A few glitches were resolved. Icy walkway to front door was initially very difficult to negotiate especially with baggage; supply of sand/salt insufficient. Property manager arrived next day with birdseed. No instructions for TV and Sonos. Took us awhile but we eventually kind of figured it out. Printed instructions would be helpful for those of us who are technologically challenged. Doors on armoire in primary BR do not close. But All in all it was a great long weekend.

Few too many issues...

1. Both fridges went out, ruined some of our cold foods, had to throw some out and live out of a cooler most of our visit 2. Weren't enough towels but someone came and got us more from a locked closet 3. All night the last night, the upstairs smoke alarm went off intermittently (4 or 5x) with a voice shouting "fire"! We got up and checked the entire house the first few times and when we discovered nothing, it just became a nuisance 4. Basement walkout had no bolt lock on inside of door so bunkbed room with 8 kids was full and any one of them could have slipped out the door in the night(we have one grandchild that sleepwalks) unbeknownst to us upstairs. They need to have a better lock system down there. 5. Shower handle real loose Waiting to hear back from evolve the management company for a possible discount. Haven't heard back yet.

Nonetheless, we acted quickly the following day and we had a technician at the property as soon as we were able to repair the units -We typically lay out clean towels to accommodate the house occupancy, and we were more than happy to help to resolve this for you - Based on your feedback, the alarm may have been triggered by smoke detection or needed to be reset. There was a maintenance check on the smoke alarm after your stay and been confirmed as working properly, but we're sorry how this impacted your stay -Guest safety is one of our top priorities. The basement door does, indeed, lock as there is a lockbolt. We're sorry this was an issue for you and would have been happy to assist had you reached out -As to the shower handle is too loose, we know that it was used before your arrival without an issue, and we will be checking to make sure it is working properly to ensure our high standards are being met and exceeded -We were happy to provide you with a refund due to the issues you reported and hope this helped to make up for the inconveniences experienced! We appreciate your feedback, and we are confident that future guests will continue to enjoy five-star stays here!

Expect less than the listing pictures

The house was smaller than we expected from seeing the rental pictures. We had a family of four staying with eight children (total 16). Mostly, it was a nice place for a large group of families. It may be a little bit crowded for twenty people. One issue we had was that the basement smelled very moldy and musky. The basement had a room with all bunker beds for the kids. Although they did send someone over to check the house for the mold and told us it was ok, we didn't feel comfortable and had to leave the basement window open to clear the air. Also, there may be some issues with rodents in the house, which you hear rattling between the walls/ceiling when you are sleeping at night. We expected better for the amount we paid to stay at the house.

Hi Keith, The owner takes the experience of their guests seriously, and they wanted to follow up on the items that you mention in your review: - Travelers can see the square footage of the property before they book, and the photos were taken by a local photographer to make sure that they accurately represent the home - The property manager immediately came back after you reached out. She didn't notice any smell and offered to re-clean the basement, but you declined - Neither the guests immediately before or after you noticed any odors in the house - The owner has an exterminator complete preventive measures and set traps monthly. It does get cold in the Vermont mountains, but the owner hasn't received a complaint about rodents making their way inside in three years of renting this home We were sorry to hear that your stay fell short of expectations, but we're confident that guests will continue to enjoy 5-star experiences here moving forward!

Perfect Getaway Home

This house provided plenty of space for 6 families and children to spread out, play and relax. There are a few small items that could use touching up but overall the amenities were great. We mostly stayed around the house but there is a small playground for children in walking distance as well as several close restaurants and a brewery in addition to the Mount Snow attractions.

Dissapointing Visit

1. The wood veneer panels that formed the border between the kitchen and living room area were displaced and raised up out of the floor upon our arrival. We pushed them back in place but several tiles were still loose and uneven and remained a trip hazard throughout the trip. 2. The mounting for the television in the living room was loose and the screen was mounted on the wall at an uneven angle that could not be straightened. Made TV watching in the living room uncomfortable and not enjoyable. 3. The oven had several layers of grime when we arrived and the lock on the oven door was broken. We tried several times to use the self cleaning feature on the oven to clean it before using it for our Thanksgiving meal. We ended up having to go to a local store to buy EZ-Off and spent hours cleaning it to avoid ruining our dinner. 4. The dining room table was scarred with several deep scratches in the wood and there were no table cloths to be found in the home. 4a. The corner of the rug beneath the dining room table was unraveled and looked as if it may have been chewed by a pet. 5. In the master bedroom the armoire doors did not fully close and they opened on their own accord making it difficult to sleep or walk past the bed without the doors opening and obstructing our passage. 6. There were several wine stains on the white coverlet on the bed in the main bedroom, making us wonder whether the linens had been adequately cleaned/replaced before our arrival. 7. In the bathroom the cabinets by the sink were scratched and losing their veneer. 8. The description on Vrbo did not mention that the home is located directly behind the main road and a highway where trucks and trailers pass through with bright lights that can be seen directly behind the backyard. 9. There was a strong scent of a dead mouse in the basement that caused us to avoid this area entirely. We went to a lot of troubel to comply with Covid restrictions and quarantine in order to travel to Vermont for Thanksgiving and our arrival at this home was a deep disappointment. We sent a detailed email message to the owner describing our challenges during our stay and had to contact the parent rental company because we never heard back. Not a rental that we would recommend renting for this price unless serious improvements are made. Despite the pictures, this house and amenities felft more like a Motel 8 than a high-end Vermont vacation home.

Beautiful house with plenty of space

We had a wonderful time staying at the house with 5 families. There was plenty of space in the basement for the kids to sleep and play. All the bedrooms were beautiful and spacious as well. The kitchen was large with plenty of room to prepare large meals. We also loved playing in the yard and exploring the woods. The house backs up to a walking trail that we enjoyed as well.

Great House for Large Party

This house was perfect for us- plenty of adult size beds and bunks for the kids! Fully stocked with all essential cleaning products. The property manager was extremely responsive and helpful. I would 100% stay here again! The only drawback is now i want to redo my kitchen! We loved it!

Great family stay

We rented the property over New Years. The house was as pictured and the kids had a fantastic time in the bunk bed room. It was the perfect size for 3 families sharing. We were about a 5 minute drive to Mt. Snow. Our only issue was Mount Snow was super busy and they had things closed (tubing) or with limited staff/availability (kid ski lessons) because of the holiday. Nothing to do with the house but something to check on in advance if coming for a holiday week/weekend. Great stay!

Amazing house

This house is absolutely amazing! It comfortably slept 5 families of 4. The place looks like it was recently built or renovated - all with top of the line materials, amenities, and furnishings. It was immaculate when we arrived and the owner was readily accessible by text message for the couple of questions I had. Good local eats - Saloon - just a couple of minutes from the house. There is also a 7-11 super close that has a full liquor/beer selection. House to Mt. Snow was about a 5 minute drive. Evolve Vacation Rental had the best rate for this house and they were great to deal with.

Thanksgiving 2019

By far our thanksgiving in West Dover VT was very pleasant. The House is unbelievable. Very clean. Well situated. Well furnished. Very close to the ski resort. The Thanksgiving dinner ordered to Grand Summit Resort was delicious and reasonably priced. Our family enjoyed the time and we hope to go back in another occasion . We are thankful to Mr. Sachs and VRBO
